I already watched it.. but I'll give it another watch.
Thanks buddy. Still using my Ka-Bar Becker BK7 to baton wood and do some light gardening 🙏
Easy life, easy game.
You still owe me a SHOUT OUT Alfie!
Com'om Lad! 😁
@@pandaspleeaseyo.. very off the forests area..... You be humane and world wide dear souls 🎉😅... This my humble situation now dear souls group . Help to spread love... Ai is sub OG killer
Extremely impressed with the length (and girth) of this video
Thank you Sir

Still using the tent I got based on your recommendation like 10 years ago, so even when you don't upload for years, you are keeping me save and dry on every trip.
Don’t keep secrets! What tent was it? 😜
Yeah, what tent? 😂
We need to know the tent
This...
Yeah.... Spill the beans
_Just when we needed him, he returned_

BABE WAKE UP! IT'S AN HOUR LONG ALFIE VIDEO!
ANDREW WAKE UP! IT'S TIME TO TAKE YOUR SCHIZOPHRENIA MEDICINE!
The man! The myth! THE LEGEND!!!!!!
Even though my English is not very good, if Alfie narrates a book, I can listen to it without getting bored. This two-legged mushroom's speaking style and sense of humor are on another level.🤘
Good to see you back Alfie. Bless yer polyester socks mate 👍🏼
This man is always well read with a strong welcoming voice, a healthy dose of knowledge experience and wisdom as always. Thank you Alfie.
Man I used to watch you almost daily in 2014! This channel brings back awesome memories.
I read in an old camping book tonight that holding a match near a tick or wiping vaseline on a embedded tick causes them to release. had a rash appear in my armpit over last summer. it was painfully sensitive to the touch. a say later i went to the doctors. took my shirt off and saw it was bullseye, a quarter of the ring was visible on my shoulder. luckily no lymes symptoms and got on 10 days of doxycycline. never had any of the notorious symptoms. i believe i got very lucky
Bro I knew there was a reason why I didn't unsub from you when I was cleaning out all the dead channels from my list, glad to see you back at it my guy. You were always my favorite to watch out of this genre.
why re you cleaning dead channels at the first place ?
@@JohnyStrombolli
utube has _'accidently'_ deleted several of my saved vids and playlists (the type that disagree with the 'official' narrative!) in the past, so I periodically check them and, in the process, think: _C'mon bro, that channel's lame, nowadays!_
Or maybe they haven't posted in a cupla years or they kept getting demonetised, so moved onto other platforms.
Is two months a dead channel? Or do you mean the 4 years period before his 2024 vids?
Didn't notice the length when I started, and didn't think it was this long till it went dark outside reminding me of the time. That's the hallmark of an excellent video. Thanks Alfie!
On rescues, many trails are close to civilization and yet it may take rescuers hours to reach you and even more time to get you out. One local "Easy" rated 'around the mountain' 2 hour trail is like this because of terrain and forests and narrow spots which means they have to walk in with their rescue equipment and there's only a few places where they can heli you out on a winch. Average time from call to rescue team arriving is 2 hours with another hour before they can get you out of the ravine you fell into breaking your leg and onto the heli. Don't take chances, take the safe options instead.
Bro doesn't post for 2 months then comes in with an epic of Gladiatorial proportions. I'm 20 minutes in and every word he says is bang on the money!!
2 months is nothing, this man took a break for over 4 years and came back banging as if he was never gone!
@@Zummeli
Word! 👏👏👏👍
@@Zummeli Very true!!
Worth its 'wait' in gold you might say...
😂
Glad to see you back Alfie. Long time no see.
Yo Alfie dropping a hour long video. Perfect Sunday enjoyment! Cheers
Celphones are not only for pictures and kitty videos. You can load apps that include offline maps of both hiking trails and driving routes. Sometimes colored trees for hiking trails can fall or not be as visible. Or your trail may be connected to an animal trail that ends in the middle of nowhere. That's when a celphone with an offline hiking app can be handy, in case you lose signal out in the woods. And don't forget a powerbank for your phone, in case you're low in charge.
Thanks
Thank you! 🍄
Even after a full career in the Army, Alfie is a font of knowledge! Listen to him all day, especially his quips 😂😂😂 Legend!
Happy to see another Alfie video hit the YT screen.
However, as much as I enjoyed this, I deeply hope that you will treat us to some more rambling adventures and plant identification on-the-go like some of your earlier videos.
Double socked, of course!
1st like and huge fan! Glad you’re back!
Amidst a Sea of Internet and youtube mediocrity it is islands of Wisdom like yourself and your vids that make the pain and frustration worth it.
Thank you for all that you do.
Keep 'em comin, Alfie!
This is gold standard info! I got into this about 4 yrs ago, 63 now, maybe a bit older than the core of your fan base. No wiser tho’, so a bit witless but without the strength and agility to get me out of trouble. My trekking poles have honestly saved me from breaking my brittle ole bones, or worse, every single camp. I’m pleased I’ve learned a good chunk of this but more so to learn the rest. It’s so comprehensive and in depth. I use a trekking pole tent so I’ve learnt not to be complacent when I don’t have them at camp. There’s a lot of activity, getting water and wood, peeing, cooking, bit of exploring etc and I’m always knackered. Most of this info is probably more pertinent as soon as you think you can relax. Beware the great out(to get you)doors.
Great stuff, definitely for sharing far and wide. Love the photography and hope you might take us along sometime on your adventures. Daft question but is it pruce! or bruce! that you sign off with? I love it but don’t know what it means lol 😊
I think he says 'peruse' meaning look around, browse, examine.
I think he says 'peace'
King Alfie on the rise again. Well played.
bro when i started hiking and later on camping i watched all your videos then you disappeared suddenly for years, glad to have you back again
Alfie coming in hot for the fall hiking season.
Aussie here, if you're in a hot environment and wearing two pairs of socks isnt an option, wear calf high socks and fold the tops back down so they double up past the balls of your feet, will prevent heel blisters while allowing the rest of your feet to breathe. Additionally, you can stick large bandaids (fabric not plastic ones) to the inside of your boots where your heels and the side of your feet make contact to limit friction.
Rubbing alcohol, twice daily for a fortnight, dabbed on the feet ensures abrasion, blisters and cuts don't occur.
Same with hands, if you're planning on digging a shelter or even ahead of the gardening season.
Similarly for shoulders, if you haven't backpacked for a while or bought a new one. 👍
omg what an unexpected treat! yay! thanks Alfie!
a week ago he posted about the upcoming video... but, yes, it is always a welcomed surprise to see a video from Alfie
@@maximilianrpm2927 i don't use all the silly platforms like twitter etc so it was unexpected for me
@@maximilianrpm2927
utube (google) must have me on a blacklist, as they haven't notified me about anything from Alfie (and others) for a cupla years. 🤭🤪
So happy to see you making videos again Alfie - There's already something super nostalgic about listening to you talk about this stuff, and so informative too!
Good man Alfie blessing us with his presence❤
Oh shit! He’s back!
New here. Full-time Camper. Each video teaches me even if just a bit.
Love your style ❤
Happy New Year from Tennessee
Y’all just KNOW he’s been posting shorts every week. Still a legend, though.
Al….fie… is back. 😂 Always a pleasure watching your beautiful quality and educational videos and most importantly, your humour. 😂 God bless. 🙏😘
after surviving 4 years alone in the wilderness with nothing but his survival capsule, he treat us with these awesome videos
There he is with more wisdom for the great outdoors! Another good reason appart from everything the master already explained : an air ambulance is most of the time not in your insurance... double pain. In your body and later in the wallet as a good reminder that stupidity is meant to be painfull... Thanx Alfie! Looking forward to the next one! 👌🏼
At last, sensible and vital tips for future hikers. 100% approve of all of this, being a hiker/backpacker for some 30+ years. All important to know. I sometimes wonder if there is just too much dodgy info out there that the sensible stuff gets lost in it. Very frustrating watching YT hikers suffering from lack of this basic knowledge, or being too cocky
I'll be sharing this video to spread the word. Big respect to you 🏆
Man I must’ve watched this guy for about 12 years now! Love it. Thanks for the vid Alfie
Man you are equal funny and informative…😂..!!!! Thanks buddy.!!! See you on the trail…!!!
Been watching your channel since the beginning Alfie!
Its nice to see you back, I love your content 👍🏻
Always good to see one of your excellent videos. I just wish you would upload more often. I enjoy your sense of humour.
If ever you decide to write a book of your tips, I for one will buy it.
Me, too.
Alfie, i hope life is still treating you right and you get to experience the outdoors often brother. I still refer to the bugout bag video and some other ones. Tip on cotton socks is huge i used cotton socks on just a five mile ruck march in the army and ripped the entire bottoms of my feet right off and curled up under my toes you could almost see the bones so yes i totally agree do not use cotton socks it changed my life i couldn't walk right after that and i loved ruck marches and hiking. Thank you for these videos they always put a smile on my face and make my day bright. Just remember hang in there brother you're doing great work. Whether you know it ir not. You're changing lives for the better.
Outstanding video Alfie! Thank you for all your hard work! You provide alot of great knowledge for outdoor enthusiasts and you deserve a trophy or at least a hug or cuddle from a loved one. Godspeed brother!
That heat stroke info was pure gold :)
I don't have time to watch the video right now, but I've already given it a big like, because a new video from AlfieAesthetics is not something you see every day 👍👍👍
Missed your uploads man, you got me into nature and plants and shit probably 8 or 9 years ago. Thanks for the funny and informative videos
Man, the hiking training tips are mega-useful! Thanks!
I hiked about 700 km for a camino de santiago and the double socking trick saved me from blisters entirely. Thanks!
Still loving the videos, alfie! I literally had my son watch your old kit video so he'd know what to bring on our hike out this weekend
Glad you posted, always a good watch when you do.
As always, when the time is right he returns. Thank you for yet another fantastic video and I wish you all the well! ❤
Brilliant stuff Alfie...!
my life's been a shambles so it's taken me a while to be able to fully watch this. I'd say one of the best yet! One of my reasons for this statement is because I'm into LARPing and a whole lot of this is very relevant to that hobby. Literally almost all of this could be relevant really. Thank you Alfie for all your videos over the years.
Like you can with a really good movie I recently started rewatching old Alfie segments and jumping Jehoshaphat, here he is!
The legend post again... I am cooking some smores and i will watch it with pleasure..
Thank you, your knowledge and entertainment in your subject, i always looked forward to it.
Merino wool is nearly worth it's weight in gold, #1 it's almost as expensive as gold, #2 it's worth it for the price. Antibacterial, anti microbial, hypoallergenic, and hence is odor resistant. Since odor is mostly caused by bacteria, your merino wools can stay clean 3 days for underwear, 2 days for socks, up to 5 days for base layers and shirts. Additionally, wool retains 80% of it's insulative value when it's wet. It sails above polyester in insulation when wet and being a natural fiber, won't leach chemical estrogens transdermally into your body. Excess estrogen is carcinogenic and so is the polyester (many-plastics) fiber clothing.
This is excellent content. Not only informative but also entertaining. You gave us useful facts and practical advice that clearly come from experience and research. I want to thank you for investing your time and effort to make this video. I'm happy to see that good people still can be found in UA-cam.
I hope you get more views and well deserved recognition. I'm certain you have already improved the future experiences of many of us and also prevented discomfort and injuries. Well done
Very nice video mate - appreciate all the time and effort you have put into editing this epic tipfest. God bless, Chris 👍
This is great!
I got back home about 4 hours ago from a 9 and half hour hike and this video was up!
Totally fab to watch whilst eating my Sunday dinner!
Some really good advice and tips that I will use in future.
Thanks

Night hiking. 🤔
@@billyandrew Nah was getting dark as I was approaching home, so it was close. I went in the morning.
Alfie-boy, I'm gonna watch this when I get home. Gonna head into the Australian scrub for a couple of days. (I been hanging out for an Alfie video to cheer me up and provide some more educational info!!!)
Addicted to all videos like this one and most of Alfie’s are above and beyond all the others. Would recommend and share this with anyone who is interested in hiking, backpacking, etc. gives information that is not found in any other videos.
Amazingly informative material as always Alfie
...you crazy guy.
Love to see you posting again! It's unfortunate that the algorithm doesn't seem to be showing you very much. Maybe adding some shorter-form videos would help make the UA-cam gods show your videos to more people
Haven’t seen you since your post 5 years ago I’m glad you’re back.!
it's always a beautiful day when alfieaesthetics posts a new video
dang, the very first advice is already worth gold, never ever thought of that, thank you so much!
You will genuinely save a life with this video and a lot of headaches. Great work!
Our boy is back! Let's go!
All valid. I learnt at least a couple of these THE HARD WAY
Holy shit! I used to return all the time to see if his channel gets revived again and he’s back!! I haven’t realised all this time, one of my favourite UA-camrs on the platform 💪
Rlly love ur vids man, hope to see more. stay healthy and stay safe!
Haven't had notification of your vids for yonks, Alfie, so glad to finally hear your dulcet tones, once again!
Quick feet tips for everyone -
Leave the high heels in the bedroom, at home.
Not casting aspertions or pointing fingers, fellas, y'unnerstan'.
'Nuff said?
New boots?
Rubbing alcohol...cheap as chips from the chemist.
Wash feet, twice daily, anyways, but important for 10-14 days before wearing new boots.
Use cottonwool balls (soaked in vaseline, kept in a jiffy bag for firestarters) to dab the rubbing alcohol onto your freshly washed and dried tootsies.
Takes 30 secs to dry in.
So cold it might make you want to scream for the first few secs, but man up, you're no fanny.
It'll toughen the skin, saving you from blisters and cuts, when you first don your shiny new boots, ready to wear them in.
Similarly with areas of your shoulders with regards to a new backpack.
Also on hands, if you intend digging a stealthy SHTF nuclear shelter in the nearby woods.
Electrolytes?
A tiny pinch of pink Himalayan salt.
It contains 87 nutrients.
Be safe, you adventurous characters!
Outta here...
Grandmaster Alfie saving lives as usual
EPIC video, thank you so much. Comedy, knowledge, experience...you've got it all, bro. Was such a joy to watch and I learned so much. Peace!

Very thorough Alfie, cheers.

Tick spoons can be bought at a local pet store, and they work more reliably than tweezers/pincers. You can also buy tick spoons online.
You spoil us, the best to date!
Extra tip: If you wear glasses or contact lenses, always have spare glasses (preferred) or extra lenses with you. (That includes reading specs,- you sure wanna still read a map or compass?) It's actually an EDC, not just for hiking. As for me, I wear contact lenses. If they fail or I get sore eyes, and therefore have to remove the lenses, I'm blind as a mole. Great to hear you again Alfie!
I stan Alfie, always had a crush on Alfie. Love Alfie. Missed u Alfie.
I still got my becker bk7, got it after watching you break your becker's tip in a video years ago
