    Thank you for verifying my suspicion of coneflower cultivars . I have a purple one that is always loaded with bees and butterflies. I also have an orange cultivar named Cheyenne Spirit and have never seen a bee or butterfly on it. I'll be pulling it out soon. I'm going to try to find Mountain Mint to replace it.

    The Goldfinches returned right in cue with the Anise Hyssop. They check for seed production daily. I love it!

    Mt Cuba released an echinacea cultivar trial with pollinator visitations for each of the cultivars. What you say about Pinks and whites is so true! Although, the sombrero series and it’s different colors did well in their trial. It’s a shame breeders don’t do UV spec to see how the petals look to bees. To me it seems obvious to breed not only for human visuals but bee visuals so they know to go to those flowers. The sombrero series shows me you can breed interesting colors that are still bee friendly.
