Nice video! I think it is possible to increase the amount of hypoxic repetition at the same time (let's say in 1 hr session) if using some form of resistance. I am using a swimming parachute for bi-fins training, which is probably not convenient for the monofin kicking. Might be swimming drag shorts or even simpler - just a shirt on top of your wetsuit :-) Never tried it though

What were you using to determine the degree of hypoxia that you were experiencing? Did you use a finger pulse oximeter between every rep?

I go off feeling, I know how it feels so I gauge my progression from how I feel upon surfacing

@@freedivepassion9498 1. Why 10 reps ? when you talk about progressive overload does increasing the reps achieve that(the progressive overload)? Does this principle apply to O2 training?
      2. Do you think someone should let some seconds pass after SaO2 has reached ~97% before he starts his next rep ? how much time should you leave ?
      3. How accurate-consistent do you think SpO2 finger measurement are ? Does the MDR influence the readings ?
Thanks for answering questions appreciate it ton, you are the best hope you come to Greece. Tell us in advance!

    Interesting.
    A question :
In the Gym, before taking heavy weight, you need warm up, you need to increase slowly the weigth and when you are ready you can go for your maximum, every body know this fact. You can't at the first time push your max, your strengh is not yet there.
In freediving, is it the same.
When you want to dive to your max, are you doing some warm up small dives, like in a gym session, increasing progressively the depth or are you going directly to your max?
    Thanks

Hay, good question. In freediving the processes involved in conserving O2 and protecting the lungs are strongest in the first dive, so ideally you could do your maximum with no warm ups. But this can be too psychologically daunting for most people so they have to warm up. I talk about it more in depth in this blog.
