I switched it up. I have a shinko 244 front and 700 rear. Had 244's front & back before. They both wore down equally and the front cupped. We have nothing but deep loose sand here in Florida and the 244's actually handle it pretty well. Got a little over 3000 miles on them. Looking forward to see how long this new combo lasts.
I installed a shinko 700 on the front wheel of my Drz 400. I was surprised to find the bike actually rode worse ON the road then my previous 50/50 tire. I think the Tread is too soft so it makes the front end feel very squirmish. I put them on because they are supposed to be mainly a road tire but they are so damn soft they cause the front end to squirm even at slow speeds.
Finding this was timely =) I currently run D606 on my XR650L. I typically ride 50-75 miles of pavement before getting to the 40-50 miles of dirt, then back. Rear has worn evenly, but since I use the front brakes (such as they are) hard on pavement, the front 606 knobs have worn into wedges that reduce braking traction on the dirt. Decided I might try a slightly more street oriented front (and Shinko does not offer a DOT knobby like a 606) sit's down to either the 700 or the 244. 244 very similar to 270...how they working out for you??
I ride mine on single track, two tracks with a alot of loose granite,to granite rock shelf's,sand mud river rock and limestone trails that are loose and shelved aswell,I run mine har basically and get through them with a klr.they do wear fast though, how many miles did you have on yours
The Kenda front tire isn't that great. The Kenda rear on the other hand has a lot more traction off road than the Shinko 700 and holds up well as far as wear. I was doing 70-30 street/ dirt. But I sold the drz and bought a dirt bike.

Nice vid
how have those kenda 270's compared to the shinko 700s so far in your experience?
what's the majority of your riding style?

Looks like your front tire was way out of balance.
