Good review. We were on Arvia last year in the Med and are going on her in the Caribbean this December. Totally agree with your thoughts on Green & Co. Some of the best food we have ever had on a cruise... and the veggie curry in Sindhu rocked too. We are both meat eaters so it was quite an eperience us finding the best food on the ship was vegetarian and in some cases vegan.
We can confirm you left no bite marks. It was wonderful to re-live our cruise again, thank you for putting this up. Keep up the good work, all the best K&N
I'm going on Arvia twice this year, September 2 week Med and 2 weeks in December for the Caribbean, and I've never been on that ship. Thanks for the videos.
Thankyou for your overall review of Arvia. We fly out to Barbados this Saturday 16 March to cruise back to Southampton, so reverse cruise to yours. Cruised on Iona last September to Norway which was amazing Itinerary!!! Love your vlogs, thankyou soo much for doing them xx
Ahhh thank you so much for the kind words. We love doing them and glad that you're enjoying them also. Have a fab time on Arvia. Would love hearing from you as to how you found her and the crossing. Alison & Ian
We have already cruised on Arvia and have the same transatlantic trip as you this October. Thanks for reminding me of everything we have to look forward to! I didn’t mind the entertainment in the Limelight but the "food" they serve, minuscule portions on massive plates is ridiculous. I wish I could pay for the entertainment without the dining.
Our pleasure Andrew...hope the video was of use. Re Limelight...its the 4th time we've been there on either Iona or Arvia...and have had exactly the same menu for 3 of those...its about time they changed it up for sure. Alison & Ian
Went on med cruise in May. Worst cruise ever. Food absolutely dreadful. I won't travel with pand o again in case all the cutbacks on Arvia are the same on other ships I have been on in the past. This ship should be marketed to the under 40s. Terrible experience
@@MarieParker-b6f hi Marie, not to worry there is still plenty to do and see on the ship as well as all the ports you'll be visiting... we're sure you'll enjoy yourself, and happy 60th for when it arrives. Alison&Ian
Big ships are not for me, but I enjoyed your very explanatory tour. It's a shame that so many things have an extra charge. I was impressed with the vegetarian choices. Looking forward to your next video.
I enjoyed your review, thanks for posting. Personally I love sea days, the best days of any cruise. Nothing to do, and all day to do it! I have a question - are all of the outside deck spaces on Arvia surrounded by those high glass panels? I love to stand at a ship's rail and watch the sea go by, rather than through a pane of glass.
Thanks so much for the kind words. We loved them more than we thought we would...we're normally trying to pack so much in, that it was nice to simply relax. Regarding the high panels...we're afraid that yes they're pretty much everywhere. There is a small gap in the middle but that's about it.
Great videos, just joined and subscribe to your channel, we have been on arvia last year and are now doing the transatlantic crossing next year from Barbados to Southampton. In one of your vlogs it’s mentioned that you did the Bon voyage package, but did say much more about it, can you give us some more info on it and if you think it’s worth the extra money. Thank you.
Hi. Thank you for subscribing and your kind words. With the Bon Voyage package we felt it was a good value treat. It enabled us experiences we would not usually have eg bubbly, chocolate and flowers on arrival, bathrobes (we could take home) and the photograph. The breakfast in bed ended up being a delicious treat on the balcony in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. We were really pleased we chose this extra on our 14 night trip. I don't feel it is something we would arrange on every P&O trip as it would lose the uniqueness and you need enough room in your luggage for the dressing gowns 🤣
I have been using P&O cruises for over 20 years but after two weeks on Arvia down to the Med in 2023 never again, I feel they are losing their kudos and going down the Royal Caribbean route which is fine if you want Butlins on sea.
Its an interesting point, we've noticed the difference since we started also. They're clearly targetting a different market in order to make up the losses incurred over the past 3yrs. Do you think you'll still travel on ships such as Britannia though or is that it as far as P&O are concerned for you? Will you try other lines?
Returned from the Caribbean on 31 March 24, and while the first week was most enjoyable, the second went drastically down hill. Half of the people on the ship were coughing their lungs out all over the ship. Tried to keep to my cabin mostly. Easter hols stopped me from getting a medical help. Next day called an ambulance to save my life unable to breathe with an upper respiratory infection aquired during the second week on Arvia. Still on massive doze of antibiotics trying to get well at home. Never again !

Very good review. We join Arvia on Saturday, bringing the ship back to Southampton. Brilliant as means only have to fly one way.
Oooo hoow exciting Mel. We hope you enjoy the cruise and would love to know what you thought of her upon your return...have fun! Alison & Ian
@@AgelessCuriosity Thank you x
A great video, really polished and informative.
Much appreciated thats very kind of you, glad you enjoyed it. Alison & Ian
Brilliant review, thankyou, if there is only a towel abandoned on a lounger I don't count that as reserved.
Thank you for your kind words. Yes it is frustrating when people leave their towels behind and others have to guess if it is free for to use. 🤪
