    I may have missed it on the vlog , but there is a vegetarian and separate vegan menu you can order off the evening before

      Hi. There were always vegan and vegetarian options on the main menu so I did not need to adapt any menus. There is limited choice but still much better than having to prepare and cook a meal myself. I don't have an allergy so I did not need to worry about cross contamination.

    Your first clip from the Queens Room briefly catches [Tony Maria (dance)] who post lots of dance videos from cruises here, many from Cunard.

      Hi David, that was a fantastic spot from that short shot of them. They were dancing all cruise...and we now know why. Alison & Ian

      We're on Queen Anne in October and like you have never cruised with cunard. It's nice to see you're thoughts on this cruise line having not done them before

    We just got off Queen Anne on an Icelandic cruise and we thought she was great...staff were excellent.. as a matter of fact our cabinn steward was the best we've ever had...and we've done 20 cruises...Promenade deck was the only disappointment for us...no view...just life boats...

    I'm glad you like the ship. I've heard more bad comments than good about it. I was disappointed to see that they've moved away from the traditional Cunard styling. A lot of comments have been about the theatre being just like a movie cinema in any town. I tend to agree. Anyway, I've always wanted to do a Norwegian fiord cruise, so I look forward to your coming videos.

    • @AgelessCuriosity
      @AgelessCuriosity  Місяць тому

      Hi Joan, I think the bad comments were two fold, one being from the traditionalists about the styling etc and two from those who clammered to get on one of the first sailing when clearly things still needed to 'bed in' as it were. We're probably more 'relaxed' about that dort of thing, there were certainly some elements that we found 'clunky' and poor, but others that were great...as you'll see later in the vlogs. Your clips capture the atmosphere in venues nicely. We're not cruisers; only like QM2 Soton-NY-Soton, mainly for dancing. Can't comment on theatre sight lines. We just dance every night. I'm always puzzled why some men find formal wear a chore. That's our other reason for QM2, next time I'll save on luggage by just taking formal wear for evenings, alternating black, navy and ivory tuxes for the two weeks. I get very few opportunities to wear them otherwise. My wife dresses up anyway.

      Thanks for the kind words about the clips...and we hope you both get to keep on dancing, whether on sea or land for a long time to come. Alison & Ian

      I was on this cruise too.
      A very enjoyable cruise and whilst Anne is different to the other ships, there is nothing in my view that makes Anne anything other than a great ship.
      One of the highlights was ‘Noir’ though. If you’re on the ship, definitely go and see it.

    I only cruise on Cunard going on the Anne later this year. I see you have done Princess, how does it compare really hesitant but like the itinerary for a particular cruise next year on the Emerald

    • @AgelessCuriosity
      @AgelessCuriosity  Місяць тому

      Hi @Mrpegs1, firstly...if you've only been on the likes of Queen Mary and Victoria previously then Anne should be a pleasant surprise...she's been beautifully fitted out. That said, we prefer Princess (though we wouldn’t rule out going back on Anne).
      I guess we all look for different things in a cruise and whilst we enjoyed our time on Anne, we still prefer Princess, and that’s largely due to the entertainment being the best we’ve encountered on the 4 differing cruise lines we’ve tried over 13 cruises. Princess excel with their entertainment, not just the quality, but the amount and variety throughout the day. The food isn’t as good as Cunard, but it’s not far off. Also the drinks packages are excellent value and of course the ‘medallion’ technology is the best on the seas.
      What Cunard excel at is the food and formality, which has been their main selling point for ever. They’re definitely trying to attract a younger demographic with Anne and they seem to be trying differing things out as well such as Silent Disco’s and the new Imagination show (which we’ll give people a glimpse of in the last video).
      Sadly we haven’t been on Emerald, though we have Ruby on our Panama canal cruise earlier this year, so you may wish to check those videos out to get a feel for what to expect as they are sister ships.
      We would love to hear back from you as to your thoughts on Anne once you’ve been on her as well as Emerald (and Princess) when you come back. By the way, where are you going to on Emerald?
      Alison & Ian

      @@AgelessCuriosity I appreciate your reply. Thanks. We have been on all the Queens 4 trips coming up in the pipeline we particularly enjoy Transatlantic crossing on the QM2 rather than flying to the USA. We enjoy the structure Cunard offer we don't like resort ships RCL, NCL that we have tried but didn't enjoy, horses for courses I guess. We have been on one Princess ship way back in 2005 the Sea Princess it was fine however things change and memories fade, hence my question. Think I will book the cruise I have in mind. The itinerary takes in Greenland a place I would like to travel too not many offer this country. I will let you know after we travel. Subscribed ..

    • @AgelessCuriosity
      @AgelessCuriosity  Місяць тому

      You're more than welcome. Greenland (and Iceland) are on our bucket list and sounds fabulous 🙂 Totally agree with you about 'horses for courses' ...that's what's great about cruising...all the lines are different in their own way. We've not tried NCL or RCL we're toying with the idea though as for us destinations are just as important as the ships...and sometimes we have to compromise...still...it beats work! 🙃 Alison & Ian
