as a new storm chaser i used to watch these videos and hope to one day see a tornado like this but after seeing my first tornado it reminds you that this is real life and these are real people that have to suffer through this. and while this may look cool it is truly something you never want to see

You do talk to them but sometimes you say stuff and have no memory of it. It’s the same thing with your first 1-5 tornadoes. After that you adjust. The beauty of them but also the disbelief that something is touching the earth with its master in the sky. When you see one you will know exactly what I mean. But you need to be within a mile of it to get that. 10 miles away won’t do it. You need to have your life in danger before you start mumbling crazy stuff. Everyone I’ve ever seen does it.

I figured i did the right thing especially at night time. Look up Granbury Tx and Cleburne Texas tornado in 2015. It was bad. They did have a few deaths in Granbury.
I followed her in and then blasted north and did a core punch because all of the idiots were driving south blocking the roads. So I had to go north threw the bears cage to get an out. I’m a pedi trauma surgeon but I also love tornados. Seems they go hand in hand. I’ve been chasing 15yrs. I did Joplin,Moore,Alabama multiple ef5s and 4s. And I can’t even count the ef3&2s. I take a med team with me. They go in the field I go to the hospital and operate. We had multiple kids that needed surgery. So I was busy. I’ve seen enough monsters. The first 1-5 tornados someone sees they mumble and don’t make a lot of sense. Because the shear disbelief of the monster. When your within a mile the tornado looks like it has a brain of its own and it’s shocking to see. So when I see idiots in the comments saying. “Ohh you repeated this too many times” that’s horse shit cowards that wouldn’t have the balls to even get this close. Remember when somebody tells you something like that. They have to do it there self to be able to see it in you. So basically they think they repeat stuff too much so they tell a poor guy that’s in the bears cage. I say that because at one point you had rain curtains hitting your car. And it was ballsy as hell to be on the left side of a monster. I did a study and all of the huge ef-5s make left turns at the end of there life. So I never get on the left side it’s way too dangers if they start to weaken. A lot turn left when they start getting weak. But an ef-5 takes a minute to lose it strength so you can still get a 3-4 up your ass.
Only at 1 point was I even remotely in a bad position. By the time I got to it it was already even to me and heading 90 degrees from me. Not my first chase by any imagination. This just happened to be a mile from where I was working at the time.
Jesus christ. Staring at this monster, calling someone just to hear "I'm sorry, the person you're trying to call doesn't have a (stupid fkn} voice mail box set up......... Good bye." that 'goodbye' gave me CHILLS just due to staring at the twister.
Why in ham, sam would you want to invest in a beautiful home in the Tornado Bullseye areas? I just don't get it. Each year over 300 tornadoes touch down easily in these areas.
What puzzles me is why anyone would spend a few million on an east coast mansion with hurricanes and/or Nor'easters causing widespread destruction every year.

I took pictures of a big funnel a couple miles from me last year, is rather just not see any. I've been in severe storms with a lot of rotation, looking above me to make sure I didn't get any surprises.
Every year, the East Coast gets slammed by hurricanes and monster winter storms, some of which are like an EF-5 tornado lasting several hours, not a few minutes. Dozens are killed, and the devastation spread over a huge area, not a narrow (relatively) swath. Why on earth would anyone live there?

I looked up the history of this tornado. A total of 24 people were killed. Supposedly 2 were indirectly killed. It was a very dad day.
