Watching something like this on a screen adds a massive amount of distance and numbness to the event, and yet, it still seems terrifying. I can't imagine having to actually be there. You're all super courageous.
These episodes are like small remembrances of the famous horrible storms that happened in those days. Moore, El Reno, the Tuscaloosa outbreak, the small one that hit Lambert Airport in St Louis--years have gone by and the damage is mostly gone, but people can watch these and recall what happened from the outside perspective of these chasers. It's good to look back.
I sort of feel badly for Reed in this ep. You can see he screwed up in his face. I’m just glad everyone didn’t jump on him. He looks like he felt bad enough
So true, I mean Storm Chasers was good but I feel like it had too much forced drama and there was music playing constantly (plus added sound effects). Tornado Chasers just lets you experience it with the TVN crew
I live in Tulsa and have my whole life. I always ask myself why anyone would continue to live in Moore. It gets the brunt of the tornados every single year.
I remember this tragic tornado. I live in Panama and I was in my job when the TV News informed this breaking news. But now, with your program I understand the magnitude of those bad day.
you can feel the shift into despair when they realize it's heading right for town. it's heartbreaking to watch them have to do their jobs knowing the data they collect from this event will be crucial for helping prevent it from happening again, but also knowing that people they know and love, as well as hundreds of children, are in the path of this storm, and there's nothing anyone can do. there was no excitement in this episode, just everyone clinging desperately to hope.
Terry's reaction comparing this storm to the Yazoo City storm was heartbreaking. As a former SAR first responder (K-9) myself, I felt his devastation. And then look what happened 11 days later...
I remember when it hailed outdoors my house, and after the raining, etc. Ended,we saw those bumps up in the sky in the clouds,I assumed it was a tornado that had passed, this was before I ever knew this channel existed, thank you for getting me interested in mother nature even more, especially natural disasters, like tornadoes.
This was gut wrenching to watch. My family and I drove up to Moore from the DFW area a couple weeks after that tornado. The path of destruction was unbelievable. We stopped at the elementary school that was hit and paid our respects to all of the lives forever changed. Even though this happened years ago, that's something that you never get over. Listening to Jim Cantore at the end got tears in my eyes as a new-ish father myself. My heart goes out to all the victims.
Wow, the awesome and tragic power of nature. May God Bless everyone who had to bravely go through something like this. I have gone through this power once in my life and I really don’t want to do it again, if I can help it. A big thank you to Reed and his crew for doing what they do all the time.
Yeah. Hes a bit obnoxious but hes still a good guy.

Everything about this series is perfect, the production is just stunning, Reeds knowledge and the rest of the team, just incredible
So true, I mean Storm Chasers was good but I feel like it had too much forced drama and there was music playing constantly (plus added sound effects). Tornado Chasers just lets you experience it with the TVN crew
Thank you! It was a labor of love for all involved.
That was a repeat of may 3 1999 and living in Moore all my life it still always scares me and once again it's tornado season
Be safe, well wishes to you hun.
when was this episode? what day did this happen?

I remember this tragic tornado.
I live in Panama and I was in my job when the TV News informed this breaking news.
But now, with your program I understand the magnitude of those bad day.
you can feel the shift into despair when they realize it's heading right for town. it's heartbreaking to watch them have to do their jobs knowing the data they collect from this event will be crucial for helping prevent it from happening again, but also knowing that people they know and love, as well as hundreds of children, are in the path of this storm, and there's nothing anyone can do. there was no excitement in this episode, just everyone clinging desperately to hope.
I am so glad you put these on You tube. I do not have cable anymore and I miss my weather shows.
The worry they felt was so apparently in their eyes. My heart goes out to them.
There are no words for this. Tragic doesn’t even begin to describe it.
RIP 🌹
Terry's reaction comparing this storm to the Yazoo City storm was heartbreaking. As a former SAR first responder (K-9) myself, I felt his devastation. And then look what happened 11 days later...
I remember when it hailed outdoors my house, and after the raining, etc. Ended,we saw those bumps up in the sky in the clouds,I assumed it was a tornado that had passed, this was before I ever knew this channel existed, thank you for getting me interested in mother nature even more, especially natural disasters, like tornadoes.
Senpai Waffle space your commas
I wish he still made this series, I freaking love this series. So much information to help people
I think his current live streams are just as or more entertaining
The local and national Weatherman for their bravery in have to report something like this, when family is In harms way. We have to get a better means of protecting ourselves from something so horrible. 13 minute led time is good, but imagine if we could get more people out of the way. To the people of Oklahoma City, Moore OK, and Althea the other surrounding communities, I do not know how you do it. To all the people who lost their lives RIP and to all the people who lost loved ones, Bless you. Love an Light!

No matter the strength, tornadoes are terrifying. My neighborhood had an EF2 tornado go through it a few years ago. Bellevue Nebraska in 2017 it was scary as hell.
Was in my first one in Kansas, long haul truck driver. Originally where I'm from we don't have any, so was an experience that I'ma never forget

Seems like this tornado is the one that scared Reed the most. Even scarier that the national weather service said it was "unsurvivable unless underground" 🥺
That poor guy...his "we're fine" means shut up! lolol Hearts go out to those, especially the 7 children who lost their lives. Good to know Moore made a great come back - now rebuilt and stronger than ever!
That's what Oklahoman's do :) we get up wipe the dust off and keep living. We always help our neighbors. I love living in Oklahoma :)
The death of Joel Taylor is so heartbreaking, I miss him very much.
I met him just a few weeks before he passed away. He was so nice and I wont lie, I had a geek girl moment when I first saw him. I literally couldn't believe my eyes. I still have our pic on my phone.
Joel, the driver?? What happened? I'm trying to catch up to speed to what I missed. Did Reed's house get hit?
@@pamstrauch4372 Joel passed away due to an overdose on a cruise ship. He wasn't a casualty of a tornado. Reed's house made it out safely I believe.
Oh, did you know him then?
watching this back in 2023 following an absolutely insane year for severe weather, still shed tears watching this, absolutely have completely respect for reed and everyone involved in tornado chasers, and every storm chaser who dedicates days to months of their lives each year to storm chasing, i just wish i could join them to help bring more coverage to severe weather, sadly living in the uk its hard for me to do that, i would love to see a storm chasers season 3 or a new show that reed does in the future, hopefully such thing could become reality in the future, thank you for what you do reed.
It was so very difficult to watch this knowing that so many lost their lives that day. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this devastating tornado. I do realize that it's been nearly six years since this happened, however you can't help but think of those who's lives we're forever changed in just a matter of a few seconds. God Bless You and Your Team, Gizmo too. Stay safe. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I have words for your music at the introduction of each episode….Sincerely best poet in CT
I still have this on Blu-ray signed by all the chasers just wish they did a season 3
I wish they still live streamed on tvn. I really appreciated being able to watch chasers all over and especially close to me. My fave was David Drummond who has disappeared off FB just in the last month. He posted an April Fools Day joke and poof, gone. I am hoping he didn't get hurt. I always watched his stream because he was from my little Texas home town.

I helped with some cleanup efforts almost a year later, and the devastation was just unbelievable.
The 2 main tornado events of the 2010s were definitely Joplin 2011 and this one Moore 2013
it's only a matter of time until another tornado is an EF5
Thank you, that in the enthusiasm & passion for the chase you don’t humanize the “beautiful tornado!” more than you do its victims. It breaks my heart when weather enthusiasts forget the human hearts and lives affected by these phenomenons. Y’all were so wonderful here.❤
I live in Australia.... I have never seen anything like this. I send you all my thoughts and prayers. To you Reed please keep safe people are depending on you.... PLEASE STAY SAFE..
I took in alot watching Reed. And I attended several storm chasing classes and have gotten several certifications. Storms like these are ones we don't ever want to see. That's also why I trained in first aid and became a certified EMT. So I can immediately switch from chaser to first responder search and rescue.
Thank you for doing that.
@MKPiatkowski you're welcome. I didn't want to stand there not being able to utilize myself
Man i remember watching this unfold right before I got my daughter off the bus. It breaks my heart that all those people and children suffered.

I love this youtube channel because you get to see a tornado without the threat of being dead but thats what makes it fun.
One of the most terrifying sights and sounds. Great coverage Jim and Reed and all stormchasers! Stay Safe!
When the pilot basically says well there goes my house. Must be weird to know well there that goes
You do amazing work, Reed. Thanks for documenting and sharing such beautiful, yet also unnerving, natural phenomena.
Thank you for taking the time to show the human side of all of you and these devistating storms
Lived through this, 10 years later Moore is actually thriving better than ever
That’s awesome to hear!
I can only imagine. I’m a parent. And that feeling when your rushing to see if your kid is ok.
Big facts
I went on a mission trip summer 13 and summer 14 to moore. we fixed up a different elementary school and fixed up a families house that wasn't exactly leveled down but still suffered damage. a year later and she still had shit in her backyard and could afford to fix anything so she has cheap ass coolers in the house instead of a fridge. we put money together and bought her a fridge and stocked it and and cleaned out the backyard.
God Bless you!
This reminds me of el Reno man this is devastating
Scary to think this was 11 days before el reno

I woke up at 5 am to hail hitting the windows and howling winds. I think I have some form of ptsd. Because a tree fell on our house last summer when a tornado came about a block away and left a path in the woods. I never took storms seriously or really cared about sirens untill I almost got nailed by a tornado.
