I know right! I was thinking it was building up to an epic fight where you had to fight the revived versions and then Fikrul may have a damage window. I was so disappointed, they could've done so much with this. The Echoes exotic mission wasn't great but at least the final boss was interesting.
Except the bad guy actually died and this episode unironically had some of the most character progression and conclusion of any thread we've pulled. Eramis is completely removed from the story, Fikrul is dead for good and Uldren's entire storyline is finally finished.
Like say how could Fikrul even resurrect the Mindbender? It doesn't make sense from the Forsaken Campaign we were actively part of. Let alone from a Lore standpoint. His corpse/body/essence/soul should have been obliterated from all of existence due to being in HIS pocket Throne World that immediately begin to violently collapse when we ended him (due to being no where near the "power level" of higher Darkness beings like say Crota), we needed to leave it, otherwise we would have been erased too.
Crazy that this is where the bar is now. This was one of the worst seasonal stories pretty much ever. Which is really a shame, considering that they cut one of the yearly seasons for them to be better.
To be honest, the entire activity felt like a WitchQueen campaign mission with one more mechanic and an exotic thrown in. I kinda hoped that the organ mechanic would be explored further into the mission but it's mainly used for discovering secrets, which is cool but it feels underutilised. The mirror mechanic is neat but simple, same goes for the motes system. I really hope that this mission isn't a preview of the upcoming dungeon in Episode 3 in-terms of overall length and scope.
But its part of seasonal content. Make it any more complex and noobs cry. People literally cried that starcrossed of all missions was too difficult. Bungie cant win
@@DarthDookieManI was just bringing up the point that if this mission is short and abrupt, whether that was because it was rushed in development etc, then perhaps the upcoming dungeon might be designed the same way too. I don't know when dungeons are developed but hopefully it's been in the oven for a bit longer than this exotic mission.
Honestly, one simple mechanic that could've made the mission more fun (in my opinion) would be fikrul reviving the barons then fighting them one more time each during their respective encounter. Then again at the final boss, with the three barons (bomber, trickster, mindbender) being all at once. A more in depth change would be adding the Rider as an opening rather than the trickster. That way each baron would be revived to an extent. Plus, the lore says that Fikrul and her relationship is complicated, so he doesn't have to revive her again
I don't hate Eramis but I'm so over her blaming us 24/7 for what happened to her people, like the Witness is the cause for everything that's happening in Destiny & I don't think she's blamed it once. Maybe it's a case for Stockholm syndrome idk
I think because of the lack of timegating, the pacing is kinda rushed for Eramis’s character progression (trade off for the good that is no timegating), but after coming back from a long hiatus it’s refreshing that eramis isn’t wholly redeemed and that she still dislikes humanity, but the love of her people is more important to her so she instead just leaves us alone to go recreate Riis instead of trying to take over Sol for the eliksini.
I agree with everything except for lack of timegating equalling poor character progression. Have you every been reading a book then been like "if I just leave this book for 2 weeks then come back the character progression pacing will be so much better !"
I mean we're also missing a lot of voice lines that would be from having to set up the pace of "Okay let's go in next week" that would slowly but surely hint at this ending as well. I'm pretty sure a ton of dialogue also was torn out for onslaught salvation and Tomb of Elders because it wouldn't make sense to leave a bunch of dialogue in that was just be skipped over. So we as the player base really don't have much of the puzzle in our hands to assemble at least in terms of dialogue.@@Lyresi
They should've at least changed some things when removing timegating to make it feel more cohesive. Like that was the whole point of people wanting timegating removed.
It's increasingly clear to me just how much the Hive carry this franchise's story. I suspect episode 3 will be -- at least narratively -- a significant improvement over these last two.
underrated part of the episode that no one talks about is that fikrul is finally dead and we don't have to hear his annoying hypocritical baby-brained dialogue anymore, i can't tell if it's intentional or not, like does he know the scorn are corpses and just thinks it's funny to call us dead thing like a slur or does he genuinely think they're just normal eliksni?
I’d say Fikrul sees the Scorn as a purified version of the Eliksni, HIS “better” iteration of the Eliksni that doesn’t need the Traveler. And so he view us as a worse iteration because we still have the Traveler and use its power. But it more likely is that he is a massive hypocrite of a person.

My gripe with the act was doing the mission itself 3 times, now the boss changes were nice but it just doesnt feel like enough of a difference, just make different encounters / branch off points and make it have rougelike elements to make the mission stand out. Look like sure saint went on a crusade but at the end of they day they arrived in the system and immidiately started attacking us / demanding we fork over the traveller etc. So this whole thing with the apothacary behaving the way they do and eramis along with it being encouraged is baffling. Besides crow no one in this episode learned anything nor used their brains for more than "We need X for Y" The vampire theme couldve been better. They could have introduced more types of revenant scorn over the acts with different abilities and designs. Im just baffled at how badly handled the story is with the eliksni and how pretty much racist behaviors are encouraged towards humans from some eliksni. Like we offered sanctuary, you spit in our face. We defeat the witness, you test our patience. Like if we wanted to we could wipe out all the opposing fallen but we dont. I sincerely hope the dread dont become a side joining faction and especially hope that nezarec, a resurrected rhulk or some other powerful disciple lead them instead of some random psion that gets a little bit of mention because they had something to do with us so many seasons ago.
I like eramis as a character a lot, but it bothers me immensely her rhetoric towards humanity. The fallen are adaptable enough to thrive anywhere, humanity was down to a single city that really wasn't all that safe. They showed up and started punching down on people who just had their own whirlwind. Idk why nobody in this game ever mentions that. Making peace is acknowledging how you've hurt someone, and how someone else has hurt you. Eramis never does this, just acts like humanity have been the only ones being violent and aggressive this whole time.

Datto, I wear contacts to see distance... and need to wear readers to see stuff up close, so it's quite possible you need some low-powered readers to help the contacts re-focus what you're seeing.
Man, I love going to talk to a bunch of people, go run the exotic mission, go talk to more people, run the exotic mission again, talking to even more people, running the exotic mission one more time and then talking to more people. People paid for this and this is what we get. I genuinely have no hope for Episode 3 and probably wont even play it.
This mission, the "we need to repeat it multiple times" and the secret stuff inside the mission is basically a 1 to 1 remake of the shit we went through with Revision Zero.
This is so depressing, you can just see that Datto already knows exactly what to expect from this kind of content now. Exotic missions used to be so innovative and full of mystery, now they are just a predictable checklist.
Personally I feel like at this point Episodes should drop the time gating all together and just tell a single, coherent story much like DLC's of old such. Just drop all the content, let people experience the story, and then let us ride the wave until the next Episode. Will player counts drop? Ofc. They're doing that anyways
Standing around doing nothing having expository dialogue blasted at you is so unbelievably exhausting. This has to be one of the worst ways to tell a story in a video game.
Honestly, every time they've used Eramis since the end of Beyond Light is weird to me. I felt like her story ended when she got froze up, that was a natural conclusion and an appropriately chilling (aha) example of power corrupting. As such, her reinsertion into the story has never felt right to me.
Idk how to feel about the ending like the fanatic is dead so his story and the scorns are wrapped up, Eido got some more time also good, but Eramis suddenly being the echo holder was odd like rushed story odd. She didn’t seem all that worthy before the mission and after also not so much worthy like I was expecting Eido to get the echo or mithrax destroys and gets cured but no she takes it and dips Also funny how she wants to better her people and mentions curing revent scorn but still leaves to go to riis leaving the corrupted fallen screwed over and still doesn’t seem all that trusting or accepting that hey the guardian and house of light are good people. The character that sided with the witness and tried to kill us multiple times and had barely any redemption got the power of an echo like it doesn’t feel built up right.
I was also going under the impression that Fikrul was dead right? Like we killed him in the Fanatic strike in Forsaken and it’s kinda hard to resurrect yourself when you’re dead right? Kinda hard to resurrect your race when you’re just a bag of bones. Never really understood how Fikrul was allowed to infinitely resurrect himself lore wise.
Every time you do that strike it’s canon because Fikrul was able to resurrect himself due to how he was born. He was always a slippery bastard who’d come back at some point
I feel like Fikrul wpuldve mattered more of over different pieces pf content throughout the years we felt his threat, but we only heard a thing or two on updates in lore text about him, so him being gone from the game for 6 years, all care and worry about what he could do had just been forgotten
While I love the season…I feel slightly disappointed with the exotic mission I was expecting a huge dungeon castle thing, like Warlords Ruin but more. Seeing the old scorn barons were fun but it felt they should’ve been fighting us two on one. Like the opening bit, we should been attacked by the Rifleman and the Trixter. Making the battle feel more memorable. And I was Expecting Hangman to be helping out Mind bender, chasing us throughout the dimensions. I was expecting skolas and other named baddies to appear in the final fight, a vampire lord and his minions! The whole mission is…good…but it’s floundering
The Story for Destiny is so pedestrian and anime now. So when the activities are as boring as the story, there's finally 0% interest in the future of the game.
Honestly amazing they can make Crow begrudgingly tolerated but continue to force Eramis into the story despite being a god awful character. Beyond disappointed how this whole season was touted as “vampire scorn” and how the exotic mission was talked up as “Castlevania-themed” when neither was true.
Of all people, Mithrax deserved the Echo. At the very least if Eramis freed him of the curse THEN gave him the echo, it would begin her real redemption arc instead of this ending we got with an immediate redemption. (Eramis is a controversial character as she’s meant to portray both a wounded/rageful survivor and a leader, but she’s too much of a hypocrite and too full of ego to really get a message across without it going back to her issues. Making her the immediate hero of the Eliksni compared to the Kell of Light who has long deserved a win like this is crazy)
Act 3, equally as okay as act 1. The overall writing part of Eramis redemtion feels very rushed. The ending is much better than echoes, considering there was an actual ending of a character that keeps coming back. The Exotic mission is fine, but i think we all miss the part of discovering an exotic mission like the older days, which could've gave purpose to destinations again, rather than it being used several times just for seasonal dialouge. The overall loot is bad, only act 1 loot being the most interesting, despite Act 3 having the exotic. The shotgun is fun. Overall, not interesting season, but better than Echoes. A couple cool story moments, but overal feels rushed.
I actually didnt mind act 3, fun new weapon, fun new exotic mission, Eramis set off with the echo to start a fresh start for her and some fallen… then after all this is set in motion i go down to the jail to find Eramis still imprisoned grunting at me, emersion ruined 3/10.
Oh yes mithax by himself, makes sense, we know that hes corrupted and we know how poweful the echo is, i mean lucky us that the echo can actually choose someone right? Thank god
I really liked the step in the quest where we got contacted by Eido, then we had to go talk to Eido, then we had to visit the holoprojector to talk to Eido.

This episode is on par with curse of Osiris
It would have been cooler if whole HUD would have been mirrored in mirrored rooms, not just one sentence.
Fanatic was really pissed about Datto just leaving
This is so depressing, you can just see that Datto already knows exactly what to expect from this kind of content now.
Exotic missions used to be so innovative and full of mystery, now they are just a predictable checklist.
The fire pit that has chains in front of it, you can go under the chains and lite it

"I have excerciseddd the demons!"
The Adaxum presale bonuses got me thinking about a long-term investment strategy. Time to dig deeper!
Personally I feel like at this point Episodes should drop the time gating all together and just tell a single, coherent story much like DLC's of old such. Just drop all the content, let people experience the story, and then let us ride the wave until the next Episode. Will player counts drop? Ofc. They're doing that anyways
They brought back skolas, showed him resurrected after we beat him, and then nothing?

10:45 the people yearn for destructible environments
16:58 LMAO, yep... So many things out of place this episode, unfortunate...
Standing around doing nothing having expository dialogue blasted at you is so unbelievably exhausting. This has to be one of the worst ways to tell a story in a video game.
Onslaught needs a checkpoints system like Warframes endless mission more specifically defense. Every 10 waves you can vote to leave.
We better shove this last echo into a damn gun 😡 lol
Trumpet player clocked, this explains a lot.
Lets just toss this season in the trash and move on
1:11 ah yes how dare people complain about people wanting back the content that they paid for, unforgivable 😂
The ADX presale is selling fast for a reason. People are really seeing the value in this project. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Adaxum.
The shotgun is definitely fun, idk when I’m gonna do the expert version of the mission but I like the shotgun.
I'm not a shotgun guy in this game and I agree. I don't think it's going to leave my hands for a month or so
@ I haven’t used it much, but I do like the way it acts like sleeper after it bounces off of something
@@NickHBOhio It's main thing is it hits like a truck.
@ it does, and I like the near unlimited range they gave it 😂
@@NickHBOhio oh yeah it's great, and the reloading all the mag in one shell is fantastic
"I open the dialogue up, to all of you."
Noope, dont do that lmao this community is not built for discussions
I´ve been exploring ICO for the past two weeks, and Adaxum presale is the only one that makes sense to invest in. Bravo!
This was very funny 😊 well done
3:12 Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart vibes right there
I realised I can’t even play this episode because I didn’t even finish episode one out of boredom 😅 never mind
She didn’t seem all that worthy before the mission and after also not so much worthy like I was expecting Eido to get the echo or mithrax destroys and gets cured but no she takes it and dips
Also funny how she wants to better her people and mentions curing revent scorn but still leaves to go to riis leaving the corrupted fallen screwed over and still doesn’t seem all that trusting or accepting that hey the guardian and house of light are good people. The character that sided with the witness and tried to kill us multiple times and had barely any redemption got the power of an echo like it doesn’t feel built up right.
You absolutely give trumpet player
1:09 - ah yes … those guys
I was also going under the impression that Fikrul was dead right? Like we killed him in the Fanatic strike in Forsaken and it’s kinda hard to resurrect yourself when you’re dead right? Kinda hard to resurrect your race when you’re just a bag of bones. Never really understood how Fikrul was allowed to infinitely resurrect himself lore wise.
Every time you do that strike it’s canon because Fikrul was able to resurrect himself due to how he was born. He was always a slippery bastard who’d come back at some point
the hollowed lair strike was always a stopgap, the vanguard assigned several teams to repeatedly put him down (including the player guardian)
😂 dying at I have exercised those demons
You know darto i completely agree kells fall is pretty cool
Tf i watched it live and i am watching this again, why?
I feel like Fikrul wpuldve mattered more of over different pieces pf content throughout the years we felt his threat, but we only heard a thing or two on updates in lore text about him, so him being gone from the game for 6 years, all care and worry about what he could do had just been forgotten
While I love the season…I feel slightly disappointed with the exotic mission
I was expecting a huge dungeon castle thing, like Warlords Ruin but more.
I found this act significantly better than the other hand but that's not saying much
Crows line delivery on, “Woah! The guardians energy signature just changed! Where are they!” Was god awful. I actually can’t stand crows dialogue 😭
They lost me with Crow when they gave him the Karen haircut
Reaaaaaal, the most dead inside VA ever
“Whoa! 😐 The Guardian’s energy signature just changed! 😐 Where are they? 🤨” 3:15
@@salehal-mansoori9674 Blame directors on that one. VAs can only do so much on their own
Every single crow line in the game
The Story for Destiny is so pedestrian and anime now. So when the activities are as boring as the story, there's finally 0% interest in the future of the game.
the exotic mission made me want to play Duality
Why does datto look like he has an old man filter on during the intro?
I hate that Eramis still is in jail in the game at the end. Lack of attention to detail
20:16 this does not excuse it being shit. split up content or not it would have been really bad
Deep deep deep...deep deep deep
So glad I didn’t waste my time on Act 2 and 3.
Thank god
