  • A full day of training for rock climbing, including campusboard, bouldering and hangboard workouts. I can feel that I got stronger compared to my fitness assessments, already! Potential imitators should keep in mind that the exercises on the hangboard, and especially on the campusboard, are suited for rather advanced climbers, so don't wreck yourself! It might make more sense to check out some Beginner Oriented Training Tutorials on my channel, if you're in that stage. I hope I could deliver some workout motivation to you guys, and I'll see you soon!

    Mani, do you ever train with a vest weight or added weights? Do you have any advice on this, like how much weight to use when it comes to dead hangs and climbing with added weight?

    Factor number 3: Privilege..plenty of time and awesome gym..do you think it's possible to have a complete work out and evolution with 4 x 50 minute sessions a week (including warm up and stretch) PLUS one day at the crag (saturday or sunday)? 3 hours session a day it's just impossible :(

    Hi Mani, thank you for all your inspiring videos. My friends who leads climbing workshops in Bratislava claims, that it is not good to do stretching before climbing (muscles are "cold"), but it is good to do it after the training. What do you think?

    • @ManitheMonkey
      @ManitheMonkey  7 років тому +1

      This is true. I only stretch legs before limbing, because it gives me more mobility and accuracy. I actually never stretch the upper body apart from a little mobilising (however upper body stretching can be done, after the workout).

    im 5 weeks into medical school and I feel like i just dont have so much time to train anymore. any recommendations/super high yield to focus on? or guidance on what needs to most maintenance T_T

    • @tvdw4055
      @tvdw4055 7 років тому

      All things being equal I would say, for sure to focus on maintaining finger strength. Strength and power in general take a longer time to develop then endurance or strength endurance. Endurance for routes can be trained reasonably quickly after a lay-of period. But finger strength in particular is build up over years. Better not to lose some of those hard earned gains imo.

    Static stretching as a warm up can have some negative effect on your training. It is a wrong old theory which has been abandoned years ago now. I personally would use movement-based exercises for hips mobility and then do a good static stretching after the session.

    • @zan831
      @zan831 7 років тому +2

      Excessive stretching prior to exercise can reduce muscle strength temporarily. Light range of motion exercises are all you really need for warmup. However he was only stretching his lower limb primarily, so for a campus workout, it wouldnt affect it much :)
