Thanks Robert! Decided to sell all my tube amps and got a Boss Katana Artist versus dealing with boards. Now I have "500 Essential Guitar Tones" :)

The the first song in your example was definitely Dokken (Into The Fire), so major respect to you, sir! The whole demo was good as well. This whole video makes we want to run out and get me one of these now. Side note - You are SO right about amount of gain on stuff. People automatically turn it to 10 and wonder why it sounds like ass. A lot of people don't know that they use multiple tracks on recordings to thicken up the sound.

its actually pretty easy to get close enough to any tone you want with about any gear, getting good enough hi gain tones can be a little tougher but still easy enough, great video as usual

so true about hi gain anbd what you said about megadeth tone, i usually play that 'here comes the pied piper' part to set my gain, i turn the gain up too high on a high gain amp and keep rolling it back til all those single note parts ring clearly with the open e droning in the background, works for me and my cat approves

@@RobertWJackson You need to check out the Elvis Presley Hagstrom semi hollow reissue. Made in China. over 1000 dollars. Guitar Center blew some out at 500 dollars. I missed out. It was 3 months after Christmas.
Get one used or have Sweet Water send one out to review. I know some people that have bought one or played one. They sad such a amazing guitar for the money. I want one myself. I have 3 Elvis rooms in my house. I want it to use and to collect. Made in the same factory that makes expensive Washburn semi hollows, Bootleg brand guitars and amps, Oscar Schmidt, And others.
I also want a 3 bolt on original. The reissue has a 4 bolt on neck, almost the same exact headstock because they used a Fender shape years ago the made a small change it is not like the other semi hollows they sold for years, Hagstrom tailpiece, new type of fretboard material, recreation of the original pickups etc.. Looks great. Skinny neck profile.
      Take care Robert.

I will check out the video. My son says we need the Helix Line 6, but I don't understand paying $1,000. I would rather buy a modeling amp. Thank you.

hey robert, i own more effects processors and pedals than i probably can count, including a boss katana , boss gt1 , gt 001 , hx effects, pod go , and gt8 . i should be able to find great tones in all of those and not have to buy another processor. right ? lol great show. love your stuff!!!!

Metal tone sounded good. The blues tone...I don't know how you could've thought that sounded like SRV or like any blues tone out there. So ice-picky and thin. And the OD pedal thing is more of a trick for boosting high-gain amps, not for achieving blues tone.

Hmm, so ya used to didn't like floor processors very much but now you seem to love the NUX. Most floor processors have a learning curve, so they require patience and a good ear. We use them on and off, making our choice when we get the right tone out of them, but otherwise, usually, regular pedals in a chain do the trick. All depends if we play in the living room, the studio or at one of our family holiday events.

I would add, not critisizing, a good EQ pedal with a gain booster in front. I really like my Ampeg "Crack Yer' Teeth" loud!!!(6 string guitar) SVT's are Awesome,PS- My ears are ringing - maybe the NUX is a better choice. Your videos are awesome.

I never had more than one amp at the time. I was far poorer as a kid who played a lot and now that I can afford far more gear ....Now, I work for a living and could afford bigger gear if I chose to, it just would not make sense anymore. I still get GAS temptation, admittedly.
That's life and I'm not complaining.
That being said, I always fancied having an AB-Y switch to select between an amp dedicated to clean tone and an other one for the distorsion. Each amps having their few pedals.
Realistically, for 99% of the songs out there, you really need 1 or 2 tones. I suspect that such kit can go a long way to getting all those 5 tones with little tweak and stomps between songs.

All those cool tones for the price of 1 bougie pedal I vibe with that! I have to admit there is something about all these colored boxes with knobs n switches and stuff that I just can't let go BUT if I were 25 again this modeler would be on my list to check out.

I definitely agree with this. I primarily use a Quad Cortex and my main patches are a high gain rhythm, clean, plexi type rock tone, and a lead tone. For blues, I either use the clean tone and switch my pickup to either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th position to get that Robert Cray type clean blues tone, or I use the plexi rock patch, dial back the volume and switch the pickup to get that SRV type edge of breakup blues tone.
