    I believe this is one of fairlines best selling boats! It really is spacious for its size and there well built vessels! I'd buy this if I was you as you won't find a perfect boat if that's what your looking for! Your going to have to sacrafice something as all boats will have something you won't like! Unless you buy a new 70 footer!! Under 65 feet compromises will come!! Happy sailing all ⚓🛥

      @TheBoomershines  2 роки тому

      Thank you! Unfortunately as you saw no matter how great the boat was we could not have Cinda in pain with her knee from the extremely steep stairs throughout the boat. It was definitely a beauty! ⚓️Mark

      @@TheBoomershines I understand it's a shame the fairline 58is a great boat exstreemly well built! But if it had compromised parts you can't have then understood! But maybe you should look at an older vessel at 70 feet to try avoid all these compromises like space, steep stairs, storage act is something you should look at! The Vikings around 65 feet and more are well built boats from 80s and 90s! I get the notion that your only doing the loop then selling so reliability over many years or more is not something you seriously need to have! Every person that buys a boat always wants more space!!! Anyway good luck finding the right yacht it's not easy on a budget! Maybe look at a sports cruiser with no stairs! The older v style princesses and predator sunseekers could be something to look at! You seem to like flybride boats and all will have steep stairs under 70 feet! Happy sailing 🛥⚓

    Forget a combination washer/dryer. No capacity and will never dry clothes. For your use as a family live aboard you need separate units. We have had both and there is no comparison.

    Your videos' are kind of entertaining to watch. I stumbled upon them while looking at a Tollycraft 61 Pilothouse. ( there is one listed in Jupiter FL)
    Do not buy a UK built boat. Headliners and glue-on wall coverings do not sag and wrinkle on a well made boat. The headliners in our 37 year old Hatteras are still as tight as when delivered. So it is not that anyone has to figure out "how to" do it, they just have to do it. Your search has covered a range of very different boat styles. The first need is a vessel that is up to the task. For instance, going thru locks.
    The Squadron Style boats puts the helmsman on the bridge or in front of the microwave oven. Both places keep him/her too far from a line handling area to be useful. That said, you will need two other pretty good line handlers for the bow and aft lines. You should not even be looking at that type of boat.
    The pilothouse style and some motor yacht styles with the useable side doors is a huge feature. The helm person can get the boat to the side of a dock or lock and just take two steps and handle a bow or spring line. Only need a crew for the stern line.
    Does speed and economy matter ? Do you want to own and maintain 1500 HP hi tec diesels while much of the trip will be in 10 MPH waterways ? A vessel with old mechanical 3208s or 8-71 or even Yanmars will do the job and just about anyone can fix them. Laundry on board for a family of four. No , you are going to use the machines at the marinas. The on board machines are ok for a few things but not full on household loads. Also, picture these boats with your "stuff" aboard. Take some space in your house or garage and have everyone put, in one place, the minimum of what they want to bring on .
    Really, it will be two or three car loads. Oh and I suggest you do not plan on working. Running and maintaining your vessel will be your full time job. Just sayin

    • @TheBoomershines
      @TheBoomershines  2 роки тому

      Hi David, These are all great points and all things we have taken into consideration -- although we may not mention all these things in each video. We would love a pilothouse style boat if we can find one. And Mark would really love to install a Yacht Controller which would address your concerns on just about any boat. In terms of laundry -- Yes, I imagine I'll use the marina machines too. But it will be very nice to have both options with my messy crew. We've lived in small spaces before so we have a pretty good understanding of what can fit. But with kids, I am sure I will do doing regular purges LOL. And for us, working while doing this is part of the fun. We know there will be hard days and sleepless nights as we try to do it all but we are up for the challenge. But keep watching and you will see what we are able to pull off -- or not pull off LOL. Who knows. :)

    Why do you guys persist with the "nanny" thing? You'll be on the boat with your kids right there with you all the time!
    Throwing a "nanny" into the mix adds a lot of unwanted dynamics to the close courters family living! You seem to be a very close family. Just make it work!!!

    • @TheBoomershines
      @TheBoomershines  2 роки тому

      Nanny isn't the right word. We really want/need a tutor to help educate the kids. Yes it might complicate things but it might also make things better. We will figure it out one way or another.

    • @TheBoomershines
      @TheBoomershines  2 роки тому

      Mark chiming in here…Paul we love your feedback and thanks so much for being a loyal follower on our journey! It’s about to crank up for sure. Regarding the “nanny”… the correct word is definitely “tutor”. Not sure if you have kids, but when the schools shut down in 2020 and we were forced to be educators we learned that for OUR family outsourcing education would be key. We also don’t intend on the tutor being a full time live aboard. They may be on board a month and then go home for sometime. We have realized that dedicated school time onboard will be much more efficient than school with fillers such as recess, lunch, carpool etc. If looked at in that regard blocks of daily schooling outboard may far outpace traditional schooling and the tutor will be able to come and go. That person can also stay onboard to watch the boat if we ever need to check on things back home etc. That’s our hope/plan anyway. It’ll be fun to watch for sure! ⚓️Mark
