I heard someone compare HS5s to Rockits. Through my computer speakers they sounded simliar. But with AKG or Sony headphones the Rockits sounded processsed and electronic. The HS5s sounded more natural.
For sure the Hs series is (in my opinion superior to the rokits) they have a more neutral “studio monitor” sound. Where as the Rokit series are a bit more “hifi” both are good for there respective price points though
nice thx ! Was wondering how detrimental to the overall feeling was the lack of bass of the HS50, for electronic drop based track etc... ? Thx for the time and infos
Hey I have a 10x12 room which is a small room regardless, at the moment I have the hs8 and what I’m hearing is that it’s best to get speakers that equate to the size of the room which was my mistake.... would it be better to get hs5’s?
You should be okay with the Hs8s i would just suggest sitting closer to your monitors and listen at a bit lower level. this will help eliminate your room. Also acoustic treatment where you can! hope that's helpful. Let me know if that works out...
The 5/50 are almost identical, minus the mid range adjustment on the 50s. They both are similar in characteristics to the NS 10 however the NS 10s are much more “harsh” in the minds with much less low end. IMO
They do give off a high pitch static noise but it is very faint and not audible when listening. 99 % of monitors give off some noise even mid to high range monitors do. But no humming from the internal electronics though. Great question thanks
@@outhaboxstudios3933 Thank you for your answer! I asked because I had KRK Rockit 6 and Focal Alpha 50 monitors in the past and in my small but very quiet room I could hear quite a clear humming noise from those monitors. Of course, during the playback of music, this noise was not heard, but in the evening in complete silence, yes. I thought I had something wrong with the power supply and I connected these monitors in different places but it was always the same. I admit that I did not connect these monitors with the XLR connector, but only with the TRS. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the amplifiers in these monitors are probably responsible for this noise. I am curious what the situation looks like in slightly more expensive models, such as the Adam Audio A5 / 7X or such manufacturers as Eve Audio or Genelec.
I think everyone knows who Yamaha are and how long they have been in the music gear. Yamaha HS5 Where always supposed to be monitor speakers and never home stereo speakers, hence why they are powered by a audio interface. Unless I'm missing something. Anyway your studio looks good, beats dope in the background.
in the past, passive speakers required a dedicated amplifier to enable amplified power to sound. Most of today's music studio monitor speakers are Active; meaning that they have a built in ampplifier. You plug them in the wall.
I have the HS50M and don't want to change them ever.
They are some of the best monitors ever at any price point!! Thanks for the support your awesome 😎
I like to sample hip hop so I def went with these. The Mac daddy in my opinion. You could make a Grammy hit with these.

@@outhaboxstudios3933 Everything is so processed and autotuned now you may have to listen to old music to even notice the difference.
@@baronvonlichtenstein not everything!
M-Audio sound a bit processed as well. Adam Audio T5v though sound amazing. I'm tempted to sell my Rockit 5 G4 to get them.
Good and inspirational
The back ground music so loud
Thanks for the support 😅
Why do you have anoying droning noise in backgroun?
I see you have multiple monitors. Are there certain projects you turn the others off and just use the Yamahas?
Yes, many times when I want to focus in on vocals or instruments in the “center” of a mix. Great question thanks!

So i would recommend using the HS50 for its mid range capabilities. They do offer low end info. but if you need more low end try the HS/H 80
Thank you
No thank you!!! You are awesome 😎

are hs 50 clearer/ tighter for a mix than ns10 or HS5 in your opinion ?

@@outhaboxstudios3933 so witch one is better?
What's with the dramatic music?
Are these monitors humming? Is the hum strongly audible?

You need balanced cable's, then they stop humming
What is better? krk or Yamaha
IMO Yamaha is much clearer, flatter, and translates better than most KRK models

good vid good info
The irritating background music was really distracting
Thanks for that observation! We learn, grow and make changes over time. I’ll keep that in mind. Really appreciate the support your awesome 😎
@@outhaboxstudios3933 it is way too loud, not necessarily irritating
That repetitive background noise drives me crazy !
