What's so great is that he maintains this Mr. Rodgers like demeanor the whole time while having zero tact in what he's saying, thereby putting everyone in a spot where they dont wanna cause a scene but you still see it bubbling inside. Tremendous acting.
"WOW' She was my favorite part of this video; a 5-minute conservation about weight, and we've fixed it & that was a great job on the code 12, code 17 & the 482 on her. LoL😂🤣❤
This was absolutely hilarious. When Peter said, everybody likes to have a good time, but this is government business, I lost it. Couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the video. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Peter, I admire your humour and tasteful way of bringing joy to both the candid stars and the audience. Well done! The last guy put the icing on the cake, hands down! Was he calling your bluff or what? 😂
It's amazing how such a simple idea as this can work out so well. I was someplace once where they DID weigh you. Not DMV. But for a helicopter ride in Hawaii. They are asking you questions and entering data and ask, "How much do you weigh?" So, you answer. And they have a scale nearby and ask you to step up on it just to check. I'll bet there were a lot of mismatches and red faces at times. But they had a good reason to know an accurate weight.
"WOW' ThE WOW LADY was my favorite part of this video; "a 5-minute conservation about weight, and we've fixed it" & that was a great job on the code 12, code 17 & the 482 on her. LoL
That young woman was a good sport. You could tell she didn't like Peter harping on her weight, but she made it known without being rude or condescending.
The last guy seemed to have been thinking about Allen Fundt, he had no idea Peter Fundt had taken over the Candid Camera Show at that point. When he said "that guy was more robust", you knew he meant Peter's dad, Allen. They were both phenomenal at their job, lol. Gotta love them both.
America has changed. As someone who grew up outside the US watching this in our childhood, we were amazed at how polite people in general were. There was also an absence of the ubiquitous “marketing fakeness” that is so common everywhere today. People were self assured, yet polite. Humble, yet firm. In short, so much humanity. Now, when I see people in the US, twenty years since, we still find a few gems here and there, but they are the exception and not the norm. As a non American, who looked up to this great country, this decline in the cultural values of America is so painful to see.
I think teasing a woman about her weight might be risking your life. My own weight "ran away" from me years ago, and I'm too heavy to chase after it now.
Several years ago, I posted an experience at the DMV, where a woman in front of me obviously lied about her weight. She had to have weighed at least 200 pounds. One hundred and forty pounds was not even close. The clerk never looked up and entered the number the woman had stated into the computer. There were a couple of people behind me who started laughing. The woman right behind said, now that I see how this works I just lost twenty pounds.
OMG! He's really interrogating people about their weight. Going on and on, having people take an oath too. Too funny 🤣 "We're standing here having a 5 minute conversation about weight"
These are the shows we need back on TV. With nothing woke, nothing political. Just fun television like we had that all ages could watch together and enjoy.
I agree with you. Unfortunately, it will never happen. Can you imagine all the legal documents, contracts, and releases that you would need to secure to remake 1 one the best shows ever. Today, they would have to hire actors. It would all be scripted now.
In 2002 this was a silly joke. in 2024 people can't even fill out the M/F part without getting offended. This guy would be cancelled every week if he ran this show today.
This was funny! We all need to learn to laugh at ourselves and real life relatable situations like this where we all fudge about our weight, and it’s funny
Peter should have told her that he thinks she’s committing fraud, and he’s about ready to suspend her license and let her address that with an administrative hearing officer.
Peter looks and sounds like Alan. They both sound gentle and generic that helps their devious intentions.
Man, I miss shows like this. The kind of TV that would leave you in stitches!
I miss candid camera it leaves you in stitches
the old man grates like hell. Who his age would not know who Alan was. prob an alcoholic.
"I mean, if you're wearing steel-tipped boots or anything..."😂😂😂😂
😂I was laughing in that comment, also. 👍
Those steel tipped ones may weigh an extra ounce. The protection is rather thin actually.
Alan and Peter could play it out like no one else, that dry, straight humor--so serious and ridiculous!🤭
Frank Drebin style!
Is that Dina Ruiz Eastwood?
I think he actually met his dad and mixed it up, which is hilarious either way 😂
What's so great is that he maintains this Mr. Rodgers like demeanor the whole time while having zero tact in what he's saying, thereby putting everyone in a spot where they dont wanna cause a scene but you still see it bubbling inside. Tremendous acting.
Yes! 🎉
"You're not Peter Funt."
The last gentleman seems to have counter-pranked Peter. Absolutely hilarious.

That part was hysterical!! The rest of this clip was shitty as hell for those poor people.
I feel it’s abusive.
I agree, It was abusive. Just the wow part was funny. The rest of it wasn't funny. 99% of candid camera episodes are not funny.
4:54 timestamp then!
That last guy ‘you should have’ lol this was a great show.
"Everybody likes a good time but this is government business" 🤣
Omg, you have prepared me but it hit really hard when listen to it, i am hurting from laughter ;)

That’s SO hilarious! 😂😅
I can watch this over and over 😂
Feel free! -Peter

"It might be off a bit"- Love it when people react like they've committed a crime or something!!!😆
This is the best one ever!😅 I think I would just surrender my driver's license and take the bus.
Hahahaha
For that last guy it would have been funny if Peter said, "Look. I am Peter Funt. Here's my driver's license."
The girl in green. She just reeks of intelligence, super aware, alive...every thought she had we could see clearly...what a star she is!
What an impressive description of her!

This was HILARIOUS! Great scenario. First woman’s face as soon as he said “weight wise…” and the way she looked up had me howling 😂

Good laughs here in the Philippines.
