I think everyone left it because it just seemed too good to be true. The free dollar is not worth the risk of reading the sign wrong and ending up as a criminal.
Yeah, I had the same thought unless they up-ed the anttie - then MAYBE some would have started to empty the bowl. thus the reward outweighed the small risk.
The bowl was too full, imo. It showed there were few or no takers. Had the bowl not been so full, I think more people would have taken a bill. A lot of people were very skeptical when they approached the sign.
I disagree to a point. If it's there with a sign: "Free money", then it is free. How would that go nowadays? I presume that the bowl would be empty in no time.
You could argue in court if charged that you thought it was the very last bowl - thus you sincerely thought many more bowls of $$$ was already taken. You might even win the case unless the prosecutor proved that you were a total idiot. If the judge agreed then watch out for the couple of people in those little white coats where they would take you away to be studied lol
All of the kids were less conditioned, so were more willing open minded to take it. He never actually took it when his mom wasn't there at the end. Also, I remember that time, people are pretty much the same.
Great video. Made me smile knowing i was alive and was able to experience a time when society was like this. Such trust and good morals. Also, the last one, the parents sent the girl nack cause they figured a little girl wouldnt get in trouble. They could just say “oh, sorry she didnt know” haha.
LOL, thought for sure the boy was going to take one. I was actually impressed. This was a display of wisdom. They all *rightly* figured it was a trick.
Besides that girl, every body was so honest, from adult to child, such morals, admire them for not being greedy, truly proud of them all, except that last one unfortunately, there is always that person, what ever age
I once had the most fortunate luck of finding a stray ownerless $10 note at one of the seats of a bus stop at night. There were 3 separate seats with glass panels partition. I was the first to arrive as there was no one else and I sat at the seat on the left seen from the road. For some reason my gut tells me to change to the other seat on the right. Doing so I immediately found a $10 note which looked dull sitting in the semidarkness but lit 🔥 up my eyes in alert. Lucky me 😊

2024 - If they did this again, that bowl would be gone in one minute. Plus, the person who took it would rob everyone in the store on his way out. Sad, but true.
@3:58 surely someone else saw the boy slip his hand down and pocket the $3 he had folded up. He was the first to take money. He just chose to donate it back.
In the video They’re being respectful about the money in the bowl…nowadays, one customer would take all of it and leave nothing for other customers. Honestly, if I saw that happening at a store, I would think it’s a scam and won’t take any of the money
If I was a kid and saw that bowl, I couldn't say no to something that looks like six months of my allowance. Heck, even now, I would snag as much as I can. ;)
true story in USA, a couple vacation money 6k has chew by the owners dog and they had to wait to get it next day from the back side of the dog. the couple spent around 12 hours cleaning and put it together. moral of the story even the kids know the value of the money. money is root of all evil
Reading these comments it seems a lot of folks have lost faith in the goodness of humanity. It's not as bad as it seems, there are plenty of good honest people still out there, don't let your perceptions feed your negativity.
Next time see how long the money stays by upping the denomination size, such as a fifty or even a hundred. I wonder if people would then react in taking one...but be careful a crook may take them all. Nice skit and it only cost you a buck lol
They never mention that they have to track down every person that was filmed and have them sign an "Appearance Consent Form". I'd agree to sign one only after I'd negotiated a fair reimbursement.
We don't have to track them very far - we get their permission about 10 feet out of camera view. 99% of people are very happy to let us use the footage. -Peter
Amazing how in that economy, a dollar would get people to stop, stare and be excited. I think most would walk past anything less than a $20 bill in today’s economy
Please stop writing such things. The people look at our strange concealment which we make look interesting because we want them to look at it. They have no idea it's hiding a camera. -Peter
I liked the last girl who took her free dollar but carefully replaced another dollar that fell onto the counter!
The boy in the black shirt, the way he just popped back into the frame and stared at that bowl of money.
Yes those kind
I like how he picked up the bowl like he wanted to take the whole thing
they can't help themselves
I think everyone left it because it just seemed too good to be true. The free dollar is not worth the risk of reading the sign wrong and ending up as a criminal.

$1 is nothing.
Peter's commentary is so lively and humorous. Amazing gentleman.
Try that in NY city, money disappeared in 6 seconds, bowl too
Bowl too lol
Wouldn't make it to the table 😂
These days that bowl would be gone!
Take the whole bowl with the money🤣😂
I was thinking the same thing
Yup..😒
And the sign too lol 😅
I think that there are still honest people around today. Don't be so negative.
They should do another one exactly like that, except put $5 or $10 bills in the bowl to compare reactions.
Fast forward to today and that entire bowl would have been emptied with the first customer. 🤣

in 2024: that entire bowl would have been long gone as soon as it was placed there
Hell the store employee would've taken it.
I forgot about this show best UA-cam recommendation I've had in awhile
The bowl was too full, imo. It showed there were few or no takers. Had the bowl not been so full, I think more people would have taken a bill. A lot of people were very skeptical when they approached the sign.
Classic Candid dude!!! YES thank you!
HUGE difference between the and now is the lack of morals.
Unfortunately. 🙁
I disagree to a point. If it's there with a sign: "Free money", then it is free. How would that go nowadays? I presume that the bowl would be empty in no time.
I would've taken a dollar then. No moral issue there, unless you're saying if someone took more than one.
Mr Beast has a video with money trees. First nobody takes anything and then a guy takes the whole tree.
Back in the days when TV was worth watching.
That little boy wrestling with the devil and walking away was priceless, good prevailed but id keep an eye on that one lol ...
Very good social experiment
It's natural to think it's suspicious: I would've suspected a two way mirror & a psychology student behind it.
I would take the ONE bowl!

no, lol

Sadly even that kid has better morals then most people today, he may have been tempted, but he stood strong and didn't do it lol
"Broken window syndrome." If one person took their dollar and others saw it, they would happily join in.

No, it's Warren Beatty.
I wish they bring this back even in tuff days like this it would make the world smile and 😂❤

It shows how honest Americans "were" 😂
I wouldn't touch it. Nothing is free and this video proves it!
Try that in the ghetto. They would kill each other for that bowl of cash.
Put that in a supermarket in today's generation it wouldn't last 5 mins
Any Lawyer or Politician would have helped themselves….
That was both funny and heart warming! ❤
Interesting!
Besides that girl, every body was so honest, from adult to child, such morals, admire them for not being greedy, truly proud of them all, except that last one unfortunately, there is always that person, what ever age
In those days people were afraid of being accused of stealing. So it wasn't worth the risk.

You put it in the wrong neighborhood, should have picked mine because the bowl would've been emptied 😂
Try that today and that bowl of money would be gone in one second.
Debbie always says, opportunity makes the thief.
I think there'd be a little more resistance if they were hundreds 😄
Back in those days you could buy a house with that bowl
Too funny. I’s give the whole bowl to the kid in the black shirt
Almost everyone was obese. Twenty-two years later, it's probably not much better. People, eat better and exercise more!!
It’s far worse now.
It’s far worse, and the bowl wouldn’t have lasted 30 seconds these days.
Back then it was 5/10 obese. Now, it's 9/10 obese.
I had the exact same observation!
Semper Fi! Though I was US Army MP, always had lots of good friends who ARE Marines. Once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine!
I was thinking the same thing, comparing this to the old black and white episodes. 🫣
1 bowl for me
Put that bowl in the 'hood'. They will steal the bowl too.

The kid in black stuffed the 3 dollars in his pocket, then pretended to drop it back in the bowl.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the way most people are so greedy I’m soooo surprised that just 1 of the dollars was taken 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was over 20 years ago before the libtards messed up our country.
Which city/state was this in? Go to NYC or LA and see how long that bowl sits there.
Keep in mind, folks, that one dollar back then was probably worth about 5 or 10 bucks in today's world.
In the video They’re being respectful about the money in the bowl…nowadays, one customer would take all of it and leave nothing for other customers. Honestly, if I saw that happening at a store, I would think it’s a scam and won’t take any of the money
Intelligent & gifted girl.
This is so strange. My only assumption would have been that you have to be a paying customer to qualify and not just a browser.
My first thought would be that you had to spend the dollar in that store.
Try that shit in Harlem.
I was thinking one bowl of dollars is free. It was the last bowl of dollars.
Id buy that for a dollar
I feel bad saying this, but I would have just taken the whole bowl!!!!🤷
There was no clerk around to ask about the offer ?
Of course not. On this day, we made sure of that! -Peter

Let's put a bowl of $20s now.
A better test would be $10 dollar bills. 1$ isn’t crap even back then. In this scenario you’d get people thinking hard and a few takers.
At least they got paid. These days people get pranked for free and sometimes those pranks aren’t as harmless as this one
I would have liked to seen the reveal on this one.

I thought exactly the same. After all, a dollar is only 77p in my British money.
in my neighborhood the words in the sign would be mean one bowl per customer.
Might have been funnier with $2 bills. Some people would think it was counterfeit.
