Lol says he wants a car that needs body work but mechanically sound. The guy then shows him the Bentley and the second he sees a little bit of clear coat damage he’s like “you must be joking if you think I’m going anywhere near this, look at the state of it!!!” 😂

Having spent most of my working life in the motor trade as a mechanic, I have arrived at the conclusion that the vast majority of vehicle salesmen and car dealers I have met through the years have only one skill. They are experts at talking shit. Frankly I no longer respect their 'profession'.
Thumbs up to all the hard working mechanics in the world, you know what I mean 👍
I have never respected their profession, they are the worlds worst type of con artist, and they would sell their own kids if there was a quid in it.

How much money have you accumulated for you and your family being a mechanic? Mike brewer has 100% earned more, of course there’s more to life than material possessions but you can’t deny he provides a very nice lifestyle for his family and he doesn’t have any blisters or scraped knuckles or dirty greasy finger nails . I know who I would rather be. (Now get back in that garage and fix up some cars for the mike brewers to make a bomb on) 😆

This car is now in Australia after being re-regestered over there. Personally I would never buy a car off of Mike Brewer, he's a bit of an excitable Essex boy, overweight slippery car dealer who'd sell his own mother for a profit (after edds given her a good seeing to first) 😂
My understanding is that it went to Australia and was scrapped soon after due to the poor quality work done on the show.

Mike Brewer is a frigging knobhead, I dislike him intensely. My late wife couldn't bear to watch him or gory operations. A King size bullshitter. I cringe every time he says " you know me, I'm a whealer dealer"
As you've probably worked out the "sale" is always staged as are the purchases. At least one car, the Maserati, attracted no interest so an actor had to stand in to pretend to buy the car.

This episode was made about 15 years ago, when '80s Bentleys were way cheaper than they are now.
Strangely my sources say this car is grey, has 13 previous owners and was exported 01/10/2010. Tax expired August 2011 and MoT expired 18th September 2010.
They painted it dark grey on the show, and who knows who it got sold to.

The joy of having a Bentley is to sit in the back and have a picnic. No need to sit on the grass. My parents had endless new Rollers and when my father retired, every Friday, they would go off to explore beautiful Northumberland with Moet&Chandon and smoked salmon sandwiches. Never buy a Roller or a Bentley without picnic tables in the the back. Wonderful cars they are if you don't mind forking out for the petrol.
@Paul's Reviews Driving is completely different now, to when I had cars. I had a Healey 3000, a Rover 3500 and others. Now, I live on my sailing boat and when I need a car, I hire one. Don't really enjoy driving anymore.

They are handsome, well made cars. The problems seem to come when they are bought by people who can't afford to maintain them properly.
@Henry B Generally yes. I have a 1964 Silver Cloud III, which I have owned since 1982. I was the second owner. It was in immaculate condition and I have kept it so. It is regularly checked for rust and anything that needs to be done is done. My biggest repair, apart from when it was hit by a lorry when it was (legally) parked was replacing the cylinder head gasket. I am 64 now and don't suppose I will ever have another car. Unlike the modern Rolls Royce or Bentley it hasn't depreciated. I paid £15000 for it and now it is valued at £75000.
If you can't afford a new one, you can't afford an old one.

Me and the other half play a game with wheeler dealers. When the car comes up we log on to the DVLA to see if it's still on the road so far only 1 out of ALL the cars has stayed on the road after they've "sold it on"
Andrew Memmory-evans that doesn’t surprise me, Wheeler is a useless car dealer and I saw the White Jensen Interceptor they did for sale and it is so rusty and terrible, one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

According to what the UA-cam channel Oscar's Garage said, the car was (famously) shipped to Australia and it was used for a company that later failed. After that, it was kinda used, but comments somewhere said that recently it was starting to rot badly underneath, and from there we don't know anything else.

3:43 all of this generation of Bentleys and Rolls Royce’s were Turbos and it’s just a LPT anyway. It’s only the Turbo Rs, RTs and Rolls Royce Flying Spurs which had the big Turbos.

You would just wrap it for £800 now! When I looked at warranty claim values on an extended warranty website costs were in excess of £5000 just for a new auto box on a bmw. So the previous owner spending £7000 on doing the auto box, suspension and brakes sounds good!
I owned a used Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II and a Silver Spirit. Expectation was definitely greater than realisation. Biggest pieces of mechanical junk ever. Both cars had exactly the same problems. Oil leaks, half working electric aerial and worst of all if the car wasn’t used for a few days it wouldn’t start. I had to keep a biro in the car so that I could pull one of the air valves off,bung the pen in and then miraculously it’d start. Rust on the Shadow was insane. My advice,regardless of what Mike says is ‘Stay the hell away from these gas guzzling money pits’!!!!
You should have got someone who knows these cars to look at them rather than buying the first piece of junk that cane along. I currently have a Shadow II, a T2, a Spirit and a Brooklands and don't have any of the problems you exaggerate.

Europeon Luxury Cars are Money Pits as they age and wear out....Some Replacement Parts are worth as much as a Good used American Car....But i can sure understand the thrill of owning one.
Funny because here in Australia the rule of thumb is don't buy US made cars as they are poor quality and only good for driving in a straight line. Still lots of people buy old US muscle cars and accept the negatives as they can be a lot of fun.

There is a reason the only people that buy American cars are Americans- they are twenty years behind the rest of the world in terms of economy, reliability and build quality. In terms of style they are so far behind they will never catch up.
A lot of the time it's a case of "I want this part for my cortina" == price1 vs "I want this part for my lotus" == price2 vs "I want this part for my roller" == price3 - where the part is the same, but there can be a factor of 20 between price1 and price3
(Eg: Lotus Elan bumpers == Ford Anglia bumpers - but there's a 20-fold difference in price if you don't know that)

The steering wheel imo, should be strong, beefy in the "back-up" to the driver, giving him or her a sense stability & full safety.

The cheesy hammy 'acting' and odd scripted storyline, "I took a cheeky look at the Rolls on the way in" for example.... is the very reason this completely dated and tired format failed, Ed China was really the only reason anyone would ever watch... unfortunately Mike is painful to watch he tries too hard and yet still comes over somewhat unlikable underneath it all... instead of the kind of cheeky chappy persona that I think he's trying to cultivate. You can tell from their rampant use of Ed inthumbnails since his departure that there is a horrible feud going on there... and it's almost as if he's saying screw you Ed... you may have left but I'll still profit from your image... I think the sad thing is he's probably not a particularly nice individual.
