I completely agree with your review. I’ve had the FX Router Lift since it first came out and the only real minus is the screwed insert rings. Otherwise, everything else works fine. I find myself looking at the Pro-Lift, but can’t convince myself that spending $400 for snap rings is a good investment when the FX meets my needs in every other respect.
Yes, the screw type insert rings are kind of a pain since I seem to be good at losing some once in a while. Bought a package of the same size (don't recall exactly what size they are) for a few bucks, so have over 20 spares now. Since I bought the extras, I don't seem to lose them anymore...........
@@rogersshop I’ve had the same experience. I now keep a magnet handy to keep the screws from running away. BTW: I was also impressed with your mods to the Craftsman table saw. I too bought a Vega fence and was really impressed. But ultimately I bought a SawStop. Good informative video.
Just got mine in the table today. Like you I'm budget minded and have the Harbor Freight router, it is just enough under size that it will not clamp into the lift. I will find a way.
The newest version of Rocker's affordable router lift has a push-button ring release. Changing out bits is now a non-issue. And at a cost for the router lift at $219, anybody can afford it.
I ordered the Rockler Router Table Cabinet and apart from taking 3+ hours to assemble, it’s Rock-solid and extremely well built and I gave them a great review on their site. But then one item I ordered went on sale in a different kit so I ordered the kit for $5 more and one item was not so good so I asked to return two items worth about $75 on a $1,500 order. Mad are they unfriendly when it comes to returns. There is no easy way to return an item on the site, you have to search around and find “returns” then they make you fill out a form on line, then they email you a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of an unreadable form and write all the info in, then they make you pay shipping and a return fee. Seriously, they make it so difficult to return something that I can’t leave a 5 star review any more and I will not do business with them. Your crummy policy worked, I will keep the stuff, not worth the work to return it… Hey Rockler, try returning something on Amazon. Easy Peasy and Amazon pays the return shipping. I’m going to stick with amazon and hope this serves as a warning to everyone to avoid Rockler for bad customer service practices!
Thank you Roger for posting your review

Nice video and very informative. Thanks for sharing.

Would like to see the improvements you made on the Craftsman table saw I think I have the same saw bought in early 80s
My dial spins after I start routing. How do I stop it?

Fortunately, I have never had to return anything to them.
Great video, that looks like a great router fence you made. Would you be interested in going into detail on it in a future video?
Good suggestion! when things slow down a little, I'll cover it.

Yes mine also. I pulled it back out and turned the brass slotted nut.... my question is is it a hand tight only or should I put a wrench on it?
