When you were gluing up the halves, the way you had the halves sitting on your bench reminded me of a Quonset ht at an airport with the checkerboard pattern and the shape of it.
Absolutely awesome! In cases like this (or the globe, the trophy etc.) I'd like to watch your preparation: development of design, progress of sketches, calculation how many parts in which size are necessary and so on. But I guess these are classified being your business secret... However: Every time I'm stunned by your artistry and love the result. Thanks for creating such beauty 💚
Hi there again, Yet another well crafted piece. I just took a look at the finished creation on etsy. I you would like a little advice I would list the actual hardwood and materials use to craft the piece. To some it wouldn't matter but to others it would. Can I ask you how long you have been a woodturner ? On your videos I have only ever seen you use carbide turning tools. Do you use gouges and skew chisels etc. Keep up the good work.
@@RICKYDENNIS49 Thank you very much for your advice and it is very important for me, I started doing wood work 3 years ago, from the beginning I only used round and square carbide, for me it is quite comfortable to use it
@@mayukowoodturning7644 Your very welcome. I'm 64 years old , woodwork and joinery have always been at the centre of my life and living. The carbides are comfortable to use and generally cut well. Most tight grain hardwoods cut well with them. Others woods prefer gouges and conventional cutting tools. There is so much good advice on utube to help you develop skills with various tools. Perhaps buy one kind at a time and perfect skills with that tool before buying more. don't take too much notice of people frightening you about skew chisels. A sharp skew can get into places that many tools cannot. If you could magnify the end grain cut with a skew compared to many other, including carbides. You would see a far cleaner surface with far less torn end grain. All of this is just my experience with turning and tools. Many others might tell you different. All the best, Yours Ricky

Are you only using tail stock pressure to old the wood while turning?
That's right, I only use the tail stock to press the wood
