Sell your car unless you really have to have it..its cheaper to buy luxury cars in tampa and then pay 31.00 for temp tag . Dealers must offer a guarantee for their cars. If you bring your own car its huge money to pay impact fees and registration ..car ins is about double than what you are probably paying now out of state ..

I live in a small town in northwest Florida all my life and there is nothing here besides cornfield and dirt roads. I decided to take the leap and make the move I recently just offered a good job in St. Petersburg I start in 2weeks and i gonna live with family in Tampa till I get on my feet finding an apartment. I want to say thank you for inspiration an 29 year old to take a leap a faith to better myself and my family!

Yea man I'm going to sell everything and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING! Lol. I own my home so I have to sell that as well before I move down to Tampa which can be tricky, but I'll use the money from that to make the move into a apartment..that's my plan at the current moment

I want to rent an apartment instead of a house . I prefer the complex . Somewhere with parking . I’m planning to sell all my stuff and just take the cars . My husband is a mechanic so we’re going to fix up the cars for the drive . We also don’t plan to buy new furniture in Florida we will find second hand items for cheaper on offer up because we want to buy a house in no more than 2 years . Why did it cost $2,000 for the apartment cost when the first fee was like $300? I feel like you paid a lot Eric ? Like for example we bought a couch from Walmart $250 a TV set $200 used , a huge table for the kitchen plus chairs $45 used . Bed and frame from online $300 ... rug ikea $100, you don’t have to spend that much furnishing an apartment that’s temporary
The furniture I bought will be used long term, will be taking them to my house if I buy one... There was like $250 in application and admin fees I had to pay. I wasnt as frugal as I could be but wanted to make sure I was comfortable.
Downtown is really city high rises and all. The areas outside of down all have multiple supermarket and shopping within 5-10 mins., Not like Charlotte where you drive 20 minutes for a supermarket.

Basically rent in tampa area is 800 and up plus same for deposite...average rent is 950 a month

Your probably better off working and saving your money in the Bx then try to find a job & apartment in Florida before moving.
