This 20+ video series comprises all the videos I took for myself to remember all the steps to do a complete tear down of a GM Chevy Tahoe 5.3 Vortec (LS type) engine. I don’t intend for this to be a “how to” video for others, as I am a complete novice myself. This is my journey and I recorded it for me. your making this look alot harder than it really is. great video tho
...lots of 15 mm bolt holes to choose from.
Grab a seat belt from the junkyard and a few 15mm bolts...and bam. Your done.
I picked up my block dozens of times without the heads? Grab two of the longer bolts and one across from the other diagonally.
How do you replace the seals on valley plate ? 5.3 LS I pulled plate up and tore rubber seals
How do you change out the grommets on the valley cover?
Are you talking about the knock sensors? If so, new grommets will come with new knock sensors
The front knock sensor spins freely but won’t come out. Should I remove valley as I’m spinning I’ll lift valley up and maybe comes out? I’m out of ideas any help be appreciated.
so you had to rmove the cam sensor to get the valley cover to come off correct
I'm still not sure. Maybe someone will chime in. I ended up removing the cam sensor with a bit more effort before removing the cam.

you dont really have to its tucked under the cover! it just seems as though you need to because the valley cover is well attached to the gasket its self close to the cam sensor!! (i only know because i thought the same thing after dickin with it)
