Buc-ee's is a chain. They are freeway/interstate highway stops. A place to fuel both your car and yourself. They just opened one near my brother's house in Kentucky. I'm planning on checking it out next time I'm visiting.
My family used to be an oil distributor. We had stations and mini markets in five states. You really don't make any money from fuel sales. Your money comes from the sales in the mini market. Buc-ees justifies all of this by the huge indoor sales. Americans drive long distances. We always planned our stops on trips by who had decent food, restrooms, and when our kids were young...a play area. Buc-ees gives you a shot at clean restrooms, decent food, snacks to take, a chance to stretch your legs, and toys to bribe your kids for the next leg of the trip.
People outside of North America underestimate the sheer size of North America. Our travel distances are huge. We routinely do rode trips in excess off 200 or 300 miles. That is roughly 4 to 6 hours of driving nonstop. We typically spend 6 to 12 hours on the road. There is not just Buc-eyes, there is Pilot, Luv’s , Wawa, Sheetz’s, Royal Farms. There are also various Travel Plaza’s. Cars are a huge part of North American life because of the distances
LOL not only does a Buc-ee's have "that much traffic", but at busy times like on a Saturday afternoon they're absolutely packed wall-to-wall with hundreds of people. The amount of cash flow they generate see must be astonishing.
It's a bit overwhelming too. If you don't like chaotic crowds you need to stay away. But I can't believe how good the brisket sandwich was. Better than most restaurants. I'm addicted to the beaver bites too. But too far away from me, sadly.
@@dylnfstr That's good to know. We actually live too far away from one. We just specifically went out of our way back from Myrtle Beach to the Florence one for our first and only visit. But my daughter & her family went to the one I think in Seiverville TN one while on vacation & were very overwhelmed. I hate crowds but I actually ignored the crowd because I was so impressed with the store which is saying a lot for me. It was mostly in the food area. If you've never been to the US you can't imagine just how many gas stations are needed across the country and I can assure you that there are.tes throughout the day where finding a gas pump open might be difficult because of how busy it is. Getting in a car for a 2 hour commute somewhere is a small outing but in the UK a 2 hour trip in any direction will have a person driving into the sea. Lol
Kolaches are excellent with mustard. Originally developed by Eastern European Texas immigrants, both as basic pastries and later as our beloved sausage and cheese versions.
They do have that much traffic. Generally the goal is to always have a free pump but during high travel days I've seen it properly full. They set off with the intention to make a safe and clean stop. There's also a crazy amount of bathroom stalls and it's very clean. There are Buccee's all over the south and they all do just fine.
This is a chain of stations started in Texas in 2003. Today there are 50 in the Southern states: 35 in Texas, 4 in Alabama, 2 each in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky; 1 each in Missouri. South Carolina and Colorado.
@@AliKaiProject plans finalizing on Arizona, N. Carlolina, and Ohio, Mississippi. I am most certain they are scouting Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah and Nevada. Just say no to California, they are not a business friendly state.

Buc-ee's has about 120 gas pumps at their largest location. It's the largest gas station in the World.🙂 They have a lot more food than what they purchased, a whole lot more.😊
This is the Buc-ee's location in New Braunfels, Texas. It is about 15 miles away from my front door. I go by all the time for gas as they have some of the best gas prices in town. They also have over 100 gas pumps so you almost never have to wait. The Store is always busy but they have about 65 - 100 employees working at any one time so it is very well organized chaos. It is an incredible place and a must-not-miss stop when visiting. It is not a place to go for your regular groceries but is ideal for Buc-ee's branded special items. An interesting fact is that they are a gas station and not a truck stop, big rigs are not allowed to park in the lot. The parking lot has about 1000 parking spaces but no big rigs are allowed. Also, they have amazing food but are not a restaurant, they have no seating inside or out. You purchase your food and eat in your car! I LOVE IT!
That's so awesome, the size of everything there is astounding. The food they have on offer looks really appetising too, based on the branding I'll assume everything is made in-house?

@@justinhowell8873 no the new current biggest Buc-ee’s is in Luling Texas, I went there 2 weeks ago. They built a new one right next to the old one, which was the first “big” Buc-ee’s. Buc-ee's doesn't build big just to do it. They have plans to suck all business on the Interstate for 100 mile radius. Have them placed every 200 miles and you can see why they need 120 fuel pumps. A little like a trip in the UK. Will you wait for the next Buc's or stop at a place with high prices, filthy bathrooms, & stale food? A Kolache is a Czech sweet pastry. What Jolly is eating is a Klobasniky which is the Czech savory version. Texas has a large Czech population & everyone else seems to get the two mixed up. They just call everything Kolache.
We don’t get the two mixed up…. we just appropriated the name. 😎 It seems like every donut shop in Texas has kolaches and virtually none are sweet pastries. No they aren’t authentic but that’s the name they are sold under. Unless we go to a place like Hruska’s in Ellinger, a couple in West, etc. 👍🏼

Ummm yes it is always busy. That store don't help it makes it even busier
If Buc-ees had a hotel attached, we would vacation there .....
Absolutely! I think this often.
Still need to work on the American mindset. We don’t ask why, we ask why not, then we clear all obstacles and it’s full speed ahead 😂
Slowly but surely! Alice is already on-board, I'm still a working progress.
It seems like every donut shop in Texas has kolaches and virtually none are sweet pastries. No they aren’t authentic but that’s the name they are sold under.
Unless we go to a place like Hruska’s in Ellinger, a couple in West, etc. 👍🏼
biggest in the world.
They r in Florida and never not full you must understand how many auto s we have on the roads millions of cars everyday
Is it coming over there for men to share meals and drinks? Over here you won't see two men sharing like those guys do.
Why be excited by a friggen store in America ? Its weird 😮
Yeah so weird, foreigners be some weirdos, i agree with you! 100%.
Being weird is cool though! :)
