Then (because it was Noah’s birthday), they hung out with him well into the night celebrating, when they then all went to waffle house in this vid. Worth watching their earlier (in the day) vid where they meet Noah and try the foods he’s introducing there :)

There is an earlier video where they first meet Mountain Man Sims, a chef, exploring NC barbeque. This is the 2nd video filmed much later the same night. Very funny bit--similar to this in terms of loads of foods and flavors they have never tried. Waffle House is fun anytime, really. If it should ever be closed for a weather event, batten down. I forgot about the apple butter. I make that at home and can during the fall. YUMMY. I am always suspicious of grits that are not made the slow way at home.

Grits have to cook a long time, to be soft. Then add salt, pepper and butter. 😊

In America, the bread is not what determines what it is called. Even on regular bread, it is called a burger for one single reason- It is a ground meat patty. Anything else, even if it is served on a bun, is called a sandwich. There is no such thing as a "chicken burger" here. Only ground meat, usually beef, is called a burger...with one exception. If the beef patty is served on Texas toast with grilled onions and melted cheese, it is called a "patty melt". I have no idea why...it just is what it is. One of the two in the video was a patty melt, and the other was a cheese steak sandwich.

Polenta and Gris are similar. Where as polenta is usually a mor “finely” ground yellow corn, Gris can be pretty much whatever (yellow, white, hominy) corn you got, and a little more “roughly” ground. But are still corn based, thus similar tasting. Though preparation usually depart more from each other. And though grits are definitely more “southern” commonly, more than a few northern folk eat them as well. And for those with a curious nature, they are a mainstay in US military dining facilities with breakfast menus. Though you will also find Oatmeal and Furina/Cream of Wheat as well. You won’t always find all three available every day, but usually at least one daily, and every now and again, more than one simultaneously.

I currently live in Florida, and there is a Waffle House 2 blocks from my apartment. Unfortunately, at night, Waffle House is known to have a sketchy crowd. The food is good, though.

In America it's more about individual hand uses of the knife or Fork only using both when we actually have to cut something with the knife. The European way of eating uses a knife and fork at the same time almost continuously where you load your fork with your knife to put the fork in your mouth with food on it. Over here it's more about putting a knife down picking a fork back up etcetera as we eat our meal not the two-headed method you guys use
