Ha Ha I said the same thing here. I’ve seen pickled eggs before here in Texas. Guess we’re just special states 😉❤ I’d love to visit Louisiana one day. Maybe I’ll try y’all’s pickle quail eggs ❤
Grew up on a southern arkansas farm. Most of the stuff we made growing up. We pickled chicken and quail eggs from birds we raised. Beef jerky from cattle we raised. We even had a smoke house and made bacon and country hams. We always had a huge garden and we canned all kinds of veggies. I love buccees but you just about have to sell your car in the parking lot to walk in there and shop.
@@stj971 Texan here. I make pecan brittle in regular and spicy, Pecan/Jack Daniels flavor, and in Pecan/Smoked Brisket chunks flavor. It sells great at bars! ❤
Not everyone likes pickled eggs, but there are those of us who do. I haven't tried Buc-ee's, but I might some day. My favorite pickled eggs taste like potato salad.
I laughed a bunch of times watching this but when you ate the egg and your eyes were watering I couldn’t stop laughing so hard! Great video!!! YOUROCK👍👊💥
Be thankful when you get a GOOD fresh chunk of fudge! Recently we stopped at a Buc-ees in Alabama and purchased from the counter so we could pick the flavors we like. The staff packing up the fudge failed to wrap each piece individually as in the box sets. Most of the fudge tasted old and dried out. Buc-ees apparently doesn't respond to consumer complaints and so far, they haven't responded to mine. They have an 'F' rating with the BBB and now I know why.
Pickled chicken/duck/quale eggs are very popular here in the UK, we pickle with vinegar and add various things to it, from herbs to garlic to some sugar. Go well with a good slab of pork pie :)
I used to hit Bucee's regularly on weekends going to see family. My recommends are: The Dried Peppered beef, the banana pudding, and the candied jalapenos. They were a staple on those journeys.

This was an awesome twist to see the weirder stuff sampled, I'm definitely stopping this summer on my road trip to Florida, but I think I'll skip the Quail eggs. I love this channel Dav, and have been binge watching like crazy. 💛💖
For 10 years that cook a “ton “ of peanut brittle every December , they should not have cooked the jalapeño. Just sprinkled it on top when they poured the molten Sugar out onto the cookie sheets.
Hi Dav and fellow Kaufmaniacs. FYI, Quail eggs taste just like Chicken Eggs, only smaller and more expensive. I enjoy using eggs as an ingredient but not when the egg taste is forward. My latest discovery is hard boiled eggs with chocolate, pinch of instant coffee and Cream, blended up to make a pudding. Be well all, Jim
Good morning dāv, oh come on you don't want to wear the buc-ee beavers onsie😂😂😂. That fudge looks delicious. Great vlog today as always. Have an fantastic Sunday.
So pleased and happy to have found your video! I'm traveling to Buc-ees tomorrow and one of the items I now want to try is only due to your video. Jerky. I have never, ever, liked jerky. I'm in Colorado so that says a lot - I'm different. Your tastings of Korean BBQ jerky gave me hope - then you tasted and bought the Peppered Dry Beef and I knew I have to try that tomorrow and will now probably buy bought - at a minimum of jerkies. And, a personal love of mine is peanut brittle - I make it at home. I did think I'd buy some of the Jalapeno but now won't - your personal tastes in food are similar enough to trust yours. Thanks for the review - subscribed and suggested to friends.
I still remember stopping at the first Bucees in Clute/Lake Jackson when I would drive down form Pasadena to visit friends in Brazoria county or to go the beach at Freeport (mid 80s).
Candied jalapeños ? There’s a place up the way from me that has quite a few citrus trees and they ferment them in orange, tangerine and sugar . So good in ham and cheese omelettes it makes me feel like a fine connoisseur.
Prickly pear fruit is the best. In Medina, Texas my brother and I while hiking in the hills used to cut them right off the cactus and in half and spoon out and eat the inside goodness. I bet that jelly was good!
They opened one near where I live...and the story my sister told me of how the line to get into it blocked up 10 miles of highway is enough to deter me from ever visiting. Also...Dav, did you just say watermelon and banana aren't fruit? They're both berries, and all berries are fruits...even cucumbers and tomatoes are berries! And pumpkins!
Oh, that's good to know! But one problem: It's about a 2 and a half to 3 hour drive away. I think I'll just wait to see if they finally venture a little south of that. Thank you very much for letting me know! I'll still be watching you on the internet, tho.
@davkaufmaneatstheworld definitely an idea for an episode! Come hit the east coast Amish markets!! There's one in Annapolis MD near me & everything is amazing!
