I used to watch your videos when I was 11 years old. I am now 20 in college and I just started my own baking company. My 11 year old self would be so proud. You are the reason I love to bake. I still rewatch some of the favorite videos of yours now and then ❤️
Every time I watch your recipe video's I am always left in amazement. I made the rainbow fudge that you had on Pinterest. let me tell you, I was made famous by that fudge. It was so good and the colors came out so crisp and bright. People could not believe I made it. I was shocked I made it to be honest. Thanks again, this is my next project :) Tony
This video might be 9 years old now, but i come back to it everytime i make these cookies. Almost every year i get a craving for them and theyre a serious comfort-food that i usually make and eat when im having a rough time. They seriously bring a little color back into my life and im so happy to have seen this recipe all that time ago!!
This is an excellent recipe! It worked really good to bake cookies as a circle, then cut with spatula end when they came out of oven. Helpful hint for measuring portions. I only used 4 colors. Cut log into 10 equal portions, then use 4 parts for outer layer, 3 for next layer, 2 for next layer, and finally 1 section for inner color.
im 21 and male and home bound due to an accident, i have a week off and bored watching youtube videos , went from link to link until this, wow i have to make. thankyou x x
I have not seen other videos with the fast forwarding that you use. I think it's a brilliant idea! Yes, we can see and understand what's going on beautifully this way without the video needing to be done in real time. I also appreciate that you have taken the time to give us all the information in writing. Very thoughtful and professional of you. Thanks. ...and the cookies look great too :-)
The size of the sugar grain. Powdered sugar is just that, the texture is like powder. Granulated sugar is larger grained (pieces) like little granules. Most people know granulated sugar as "regular" sugar they use everyday
I made these! They came out awesome, the texture of the cookies are delicious, but if you want more flavor i would suggest adding more sugar because they are very slight in taste, but very good still.
Excellent recipe!!! I made a dozen of them today and the result was incredible!!!! the texture is excellent!! I prefer to add them a little of extra flavour like cherries as you did in a past video and that would be the perfect cookie recipe!!! hugs from Calgary, Andreina.
i have used so many of your recipes and they have all turned out splendidly!! thank you so much! I'm about to go make these cookies and there is no doubt in my mind the product will be any different than the others :)
Hello, I am a high school student from Mexico, I just wanna to say than YOU very much!!! Because I made this recipe for a school project and I get the highest grade! :D All beacause your help! Really, thank you very much. Regards!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your videos. I'm a huge fan. You make everything so simple and easy to follow. Why don't you have your own cooking show on television? You are amazing.
I just made the dough and made the rainbow log and it was fun to do but it was crazy sticky. My advice is to use flour on the counter, your hands and a little on each piece of dough to help with the sticky dough, which I did and it helped . I didn't do this but I'm you could but an extra 1/2 cup of flour in the batter instead of 2 cups and that will help it too. Other than that I really liked making these :)
Wonderful idea! I love to experiment with color in what I bake. Just the other week, I baked a rainbow layer cake. I should definitely give this a try. Thanks so much for uploading!
Yes, but after you work the food colouring in, the heat from your hands will make the dough heat up and get sticky and you will have to re-refrigerate it.
I made this yesterday and they turned out awesome! Thank you! Is icebox cookie dough recipe the only cookie dough recipe that can be used or can I use different cookie dough recipes like basic sugar cookie dough?
powdered sugar is pretty much just finely powdered sugar mixed with cornstarch. Because powdered sugar dissolves almost instantly, it is generally used in dishes and recipes that don't require cooking, such as icings. Typically, you're using granulated sugar because you want it to dissolve in your dish
My children and I are having great fun getting plenty of good ideas from your videos. We may try some of these . Got a pop cake machine last night. Wow, you have really good ideas and must love baking. Btw, I also listen to audio books while doing the housework :)
Definitely subscribing. I'm always on the lookout for awesome recipe videos, and yours are really informative, and easy to follow. Also, props for using the Wilton gel dyes. Those are the ones I've been using since I was a kid, so it makes me feel homely ^__^
Basic sugar cookie dough would probably be okay as long as you chilled it enough. You need a dough that can be worked and won't fall apart as you roll it
I don't think you should sub shortening with oil in this recipe, but it seems you have figured this out the hard way. If you want to try again, you could try just using butter or looking for another "icebox" cookie recipe that doesn't use shortening.
These are the awesomest cookies ever! :D I want to make these someday... although I've never made cookies from scratch. I'm not much a baker. But I do consider myself an artist, and that's half of it. :)
The rolling of the dough and the layering is a bit fussy to do, so it would depend on her age, but nothing says you have to make these exactly as I did. You could make ropes of the dough and twist them together into fun shapes
Do you mean the silicone mat? Mate has a different meaning, lol. They were a gift from a friend who bought them at Target. They can be purchased at most stores like Walmart or kitchen stores
Hello! I just made your cookies...It took me 7 hours, because at each step I had to put the dough in the fridge. I think changing the quantities in grams there was some problems. In particular, the 1-3 oz of cheese ... I put a tablespoon of it not understand how it was. And in Italy we do not use the shortening, so I replaced it with just butter.
which would you recommend? i want a mix were i dont want to wait hours for dough and everything. just a quick mix, add food coloring, make the logs, and bake .
@ShiroxYume You need a balance between not chilled enough and too chilled. If it is too chilled it will fall apart when you roll it, not chilled enough, too sticky.
You are definitely one of the best dessert chefs I have ever seen on youtube! although this is a somewhat....ah....odd....recipe idea, it is also very cute!!!
I couldn't help but notice ou were having troubles keeping the wax paper in place, I would recommend taping it to the counter:) and I LOVE your videos!:)
definitely give it a try - i can get both at cake stores here - both are imports but the americolor is cheaper and definitely more vibrant with less usage. it's what i use to get my macarons so insanely bright :) but in comparison - wilton is about $7 each here and i got the americolor 12 pack for $35 - if i had cash i would just ship them over to you as a gift!!
I just made them tonight. Dough was too soft, even after I popped it into the freezer. Tried to adjust the recipe but they still didn't end up right. Not sure what went wrong, but my niece and I just called then tie dye cookies. Some layers were thicker than others because I wasn't sure how to measure them out. When I sliced them, they wouldn't hold their shape and got smushed. They tasted good and were colorful, but they were not at all like the perfect rainbows you showed.
Bulk Barn! I just moved to Ontario, Canada, and we have one in town... it's the first time I've heard of Bulk Barn. Is it in other provinces/countries? How exciting! I love your rainbow recipes! They are so exciting and seem so tasty and simple! :D
could you use just regular sugar cookie recipe to try with this rainbow cookie? I can't have cream cheese in my foods. So I was just wondering. Great job on this tutorial. I love watching your tutorials.
She uses gel colourings, their availability depends on what country you are in, though generally they can be found at cake decorating suppliers, some craft shops have them (if they have a baking section) and you can buy them online.
does ur family always eat what u baked? or do u give some to ur neighbours or friends. cause sometimes the portions are quite big. nice videos btw, i really enjoy watching them ! :)
I would suggest you use a different cookie recipe if you don't want the cream cheese, you could try the recipe I use to make panda cookies, that one is pretty good
I used to watch your videos when I was 11 years old. I am now 20 in college and I just started my own baking company. My 11 year old self would be so proud. You are the reason I love to bake. I still rewatch some of the favorite videos of yours now and then ❤️

I love your videos and you are such an inspiration.
out of all of the cake videos/ channels, this is yet the best one I have ever seen. You, lady, are talented and perfect.
I made these! They came out awesome, the texture of the cookies are delicious, but if you want more flavor i would suggest adding more sugar because they are very slight in taste, but very good still.
one of the best youtube videos I have seen with clear directions and recipe - nicely done!

I love how things like this look weird and like PlayDough when they are raw, but taste and look AMAZING when they are cooked!
Hello, I am a high school student from Mexico, I just wanna to say than YOU very much!!! Because I made this recipe for a school project and I get the highest grade! :D All beacause your help! Really, thank you very much. Regards!!
as a lazy 14 year old teen i hate cooking but watching your videos makes me want to cook!
Nice! This is a really well-made cookie recipe from the baker woman, and well-produced and edited! Thank you!
LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your videos. I'm a huge fan. You make everything so simple and easy to follow. Why don't you have your own cooking show on television? You are amazing.

I tire of answering the same questions over and over again, thank you for this.
Hello Sabrina! I am thrilled to have someone in Hong Kong watching my videos, how cool is that??? :) Welcome.
Wonderful idea! I love to experiment with color in what I bake. Just the other week, I baked a rainbow layer cake. I should definitely give this a try. Thanks so much for uploading!

I love canadians they're such nice people, definitely going there again.
Making these for my daughters Rainbow Guide's party this week - they look great!

Basic sugar cookie dough would probably be okay as long as you chilled it enough. You need a dough that can be worked and won't fall apart as you roll it
You're so creative! Finally a "youtuber" that doesn't post the same videos. Your are awesome. Keep at it :)
Wonderfully inventive- they look like the tiny pinatas I have at parties. Kids would go utterly insane over them, I'm sure.

I'm so going to do this! thanks for posting so many great recipies! I love them! I'm a homschooler and love making you recipies :)
Tried this cookies long long ago my kids still remember and ask for more..and now back for the tutorial..tks alot!
Happy that your cookies turned out well and that you like them :)
Yup ^^ It works both ways. I just find that gel food coloring is a lot easier to control how much you put in there.
The rolling of the dough and the layering is a bit fussy to do, so it would depend on her age, but nothing says you have to make these exactly as I did. You could make ropes of the dough and twist them together into fun shapes
That repice is Beautiful and pretty.😊☺️😊☺️😊☺️😊😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Do you mean the silicone mat? Mate has a different meaning, lol.

yes, but it may make your dough sticky, add a tiny bit of extra flour if this happens and chill the dough very well
Great videos. I loved the rainbow bread! I'm going to make some of this for a friend of mine.
which would you recommend? i want a mix were i dont want to wait hours for dough and everything. just a quick mix, add food coloring, make the logs, and bake .
I Tried This Recipe And It Turned Out Great Thank You For Sharing This Recipe With Everyone That Watch's This Video
@ShiroxYume You need a balance between not chilled enough and too chilled. If it is too chilled it will fall apart when you roll it, not chilled enough, too sticky.
Thank you for your kind words Kayla

GOOD JOB YOYOMAX12!
This is sooo awesome, it makes me feel like a kid again!!
I couldn't help but notice ou were having troubles keeping the wax paper in place, I would recommend taping it to the counter:) and I LOVE your videos!:)
@luvmusic2001 I hope it turns out well for you! Have fun making it :)
I would freeze them if you wanted to make them early and serve them later. I wouldn't leave a home-made cookie out for two months and then eat it
Great video. Perfect description. I wish more UA-cam videos were as good as this
Thanks! I plan to give them a try today. They look delightful and not impossible :0)
I feel like it's the 60's all over again lol Gorgeous colors. Wonderful idea, thanks for doing the legwork. ;o)
definitely give it a try - i can get both at cake stores here - both are imports but the americolor is cheaper and definitely more vibrant with less usage. it's what i use to get my macarons so insanely bright :) but in comparison - wilton is about $7 each here and i got the americolor 12 pack for $35 - if i had cash i would just ship them over to you as a gift!!

Seriously, this was absolutely awesome!! GOOD JOB!
Bulk Barn! I just moved to Ontario, Canada, and we have one in town... it's the first time I've heard of Bulk Barn. Is it in other provinces/countries? How exciting!
I love your rainbow recipes! They are so exciting and seem so tasty and simple! :D
I heard there's one in BC, as well. I sure hope they become popular all over Canada. :)
Moved back to BC, there are some out here, too, but not in my city. :S Hopefully we will get one, too. :)
These are super cute! Just in time for my daughter's birthday!!!
I tried these out and they taste and look amazing!
could you use just regular sugar cookie recipe to try with this rainbow cookie? I can't have cream cheese in my foods. So I was just wondering. Great job on this tutorial. I love watching your tutorials.
YOU ARE A GENIUS! thank you so much for making this video so thorough and easy and quick! good job! :D
Great tutorial! I have a question: for this can you use a sugar cookie mix from the store?
Lovely!! I am so gonna do this for my daughters birthday!
8 oz is one cup, so a little less than half a cup?
you are amazing i love your recipes!
can u do one with cupcakes?
Love the rainbow colours! IT LOOKS SO YUMMY
Really cute gr8 4 fetes. U would never have any double ups with what others brought. Thanx 4 sharing.
Gorgeous! I'll try this recipe soon!
I have one question: is there any way I can replace the shortening? perhaps adding more butter?
Thanks!

thanks so much, today i made your rainbow bread recipe it turned out great, and ill be trying this soon!!!
I'm so making these, Just have to wait for my measuring cups to come in the mail (I live in the UK, They are hard to find) Great Recipe :)
They will spread if not chilled and will be very difficult to cut without squishing them. Let them chill
Omg you're so creative + I love your intro! ♡
So much fun! I've never really been into cooking and baking and all that, but these videos make me want to try! :) Thank you for uploading this! :D
I tried then and they were really hard to work with, but I managed to do it and they are so cute! Thank you :D
Instead of using flour to help with stickiness, use powdered sugar. It helps with handling the dough without making them too dry
i made these to but i used choclate chip cookies with out the choclate chips it turned out great!!
in what temperature do you bake these cookies? i'd really love to give it a try
I would suggest you use a different cookie recipe if you don't want the cream cheese, you could try the recipe I use to make panda cookies, that one is pretty good
idk, i live in britain and ive never seen it before. but i used butter to substitute it and the cookies turned out good!
Wow ! I love your videos! Especially the rainbow bread one!
Great job on your tutorial
Totally gonna make a full rainbow meal after watching all your rainbow videos xD
