A note for the completionists. If you do every weekly, daily, and special, you will have a surplus of acclaim. This is why the tier 5 bags, and more expensive 1g bags are in there. Most folks probably won't fully min max this, so it's of no use to them. But the folks that are diligent, you can get every item in here, plus some. Really great stuff!
Still, they should be separated from the actual good rewards, a new player might see 'oh 40 AA for this, this might be good then', and essentially waste AA for a couple of silver..

So what if a new player happens to buy one of those before realising that it's not a good deal and just.. never do it again?

@@JocoBreRbCthat is the best part of this. Figuring things out. Like how i try to make chrono work in the meta, choosing meta build or fun build.
What I regret is that until there, we could pick between pvp / wvw / pve very more freely. You could choose the 3 most quick to do, or do all of them, there was a lot more freedom in that. But the rewards of that new system are way better.

I had a feeling going into soto that they'd do away with that but honestly I want to find what the subtasks are IN GAME. I shouldn't have to go to an external wiki to see which ones are worth picking today/this week.
I do miss that too. I do wish they bring this option back for the daily option only at least, so we cab have 4 options for each choice once more. But other than that, it is really interesting system, like I think right now I can make a legend weapon as I am right now ^3^!!
This, having options to do 4 of 12 instead is 4 of 4 was way better.
i mean... you can't really compare the 2 gold that the old system was giving you , with a 70% legendary ( literally)
The new system makes a funny sound when I click the chests so it's automatically better than the old one.

I'm loving the vault.
I would like them to add the ability to buy some extra potions to pvp and wvw rewards tracks (since they have been removed from daily achievements) or the ability to exchange Astral Acclaim for other currencies.
Yes! I hate pvp and wvw but I have to suffer hours of wvw for that Gift of Battle to make legendaries. Let me buy reward track progress so I have a choice.
The tick chests now contain nutty amounts of reward track progress. People are completing reward tracks in 2hours of play without even stacking boosters.
@@Awesumness yes, but it's only in wvw, in pvp you still need to earn 20,000 rank points to get only 2 potions
The Wizard's Vault is DAMN good for new players.
I heard of the wizard’s vault and the rotating rewards and my first thought was “oh, so it’s like a free battlepass with rotating prizes to exploit the sense of FOMO.”
And then I heard those rewards will go into a “legacy vault” where you can still obtain them at anytime.
Im still flabbergasted at a game company creating a reward system that DOESN’T attempt to transparently exploit its player base.
Great rewards, just make sure to only select the categroy (PvE, WvW, PvP) that you actualy play regulary. Screwed up on first day and selected all 3, got a bunch of PvP weekly that im not going to complete.
You can clear this in daily rooms that are organized by members of the community - you can find them in the pvp game browser. Aside from the one that strictly says 3 ranked pvp wins (which require a ranked queue), the others can be done there.

They *really* need more choices between what dailies you can do, and to remove some of those noob traps.
i love the noob traps.. it encourages people to engage with the community, ask what's better or do a research.. which is better than a braindead " Pick this" period.

Many account should get a whole bunch of mystic coins and laurels for hardly any effort, and was actually a really profitable method of making gold. Wizards vault kinda prevents that, but I don’t mind

Do note that the ascended gear purchases are only for core stats, so you'll need to stat-swap them if you want expansion stats, not the end of the world but still a minor annoyance.
Is it confirmed that the legendary box contains a fully-crafted legendary gift (e.g. gift of bolt) rather than just one of the component gifts (gift of metal or lightning)? It's a little unclear as to what a "themed gift" is.
It is the full gift of the legendary yes, not just a component of it.

The unlimited bag of coins and large crafting bags are more expensive because it is meant to be used for excess acclaim when you got everything else, so not supposed to be "fairly" priced.
Especially as large crafting bags can be bought for 1 laurel which is 10 acclaim vs. 40 for the bag.
Was working on my next legendary trinket and this drops... Legendary weapons were on my list after trinkets. Thanks to legendary started kit... I should have bifrost probably this weekend. - it feels insane!
I would still try to finish the trinkets before weapon. your weapons are limited by few characters where the other works on all.
Yeah, too late. It got me to 75% there with the materials I already had. And all my characters I use have a staff build. So... yeh, 120gold lighter now 😅.
Loving these new rewards! Most importantly no Black Lion things that I have stacks and stacks of at this point.
Completely agree. This system is a great addition, but needs some refinement.
The first things to tackle is probably the number of objectives, as before this expansion, you had much more freedom. Daily completionist can still be gated to only 4 objectives per day and then not give any more rewards, but please give us a bit more choices in there.
And maybe give us a way to have the same ones as our friends, as having different expansions activated makes the objectives differ. Maybe giving a manual choice akin to the PVE/PVP/WvW one, but for expansions, could solve that issue.
For me its the. gold, heavy crafting bags, ascended gear. Optional will be cosmetics and build storage.
I'm glad you said that the legendary kits are rotating as I looked at them and as there wasn't a weapon I use for my builds I was rather dismayed.
Now though? I can wait for a short-bow! :)

You should definitely pick up the starter kit, even if you don't like the current set of weapons. The value you get from it is absolutely insane and you can just hoard it for later (also don't forget legendaries can be transmogged for free, so you can always change it to look however you want)

This leg starter kit ruined the price of my precursor's. Not to mention how hard I had to work to make legendarys. Anet always does some shit like this eventually.

I'd like to see more available dailies and weeklies. And pvp and wvw track potions added to the items. Having to do all the dailies means I don't get to choose what I do each day and choosing to do only things I have fun with is one of the things gw2 does best. It's also given me dailies and weeklies that I can't do yet. In zones I don't have access to with any characters yet(new taking it slowly through the content) and asking for ranked pvp matches when I can't do them yet. Just giving more options every day/week fixes that and otherwise seems like a fun system and good replacement for the old daily/login rewards.
Im happy i can get ascended armor. I can finally complete my firebrand build lol.

I wonder if anet will continue the rewards being this good. This vault is EPIC! Build storage and template expanders just for playing the game?!?! What’s next bag or material storage expansions? These rewards are insanely good. 3 ascended armor chests and an ascended weapon chest for doing dailies!?!?
Definitely some memes in here as Teapot says, but all in all these rewards far exceed what I was expecting. My only criticism is that I loved stacking the WvW potions for gift of battles when I needed them. I did the reward tracks I wanted and would just collect my gift of battle when I got 80 potions.

I'm mostly miffed that I can't do dailies with my friends or my wife anymore. If I could select a guild or a friend to have the same daily selections as (like the new WvW system for guilds) I'd be soooooo happy!

I heard that if you have the same combination of wvw/pvp/pve selected, you'll get the same dailies.
You need to have the same preferences to Pve/Wvw/Pvp and also own the same expansions to get dailies together.

the legendary starter is great but it does hurt that I crafted Bifrost like 2 weeks ago if I had known that Bifrost was in the first box I could almost craft a gen 2 as well now :/

been playing 11 years never crafted a legendary but the items that the pack gave me made me craft my first with the stuff i had stashed away for years in my bank. Anet did good :)

@@darkviper1875ive done a ton of the achievements, got all mounts etc, just didnt go forward with making a legendary. its not like the game was like 'hey, make one!'. you have to dig through pages and pages of wiki to even know what you need to do. Then add time gating, even more grind etc. Just not my thing
Ive finish the quests from daily, weekly and special quest it landed me 2380 ish points. I immediately grab the legendary kit and the griffon skin.
Damn those rewards make me maybe wanna play again, I never got ascended gear and wanted to, never finished skyscale as I didn’t have the loot for it and legendary I never thought to try but maybe I can now…
I got the legendary kit and with what I already had in the bank I calculate the cost of the bifrost as under 200g (mostly for the gift of might) and a little bit of farming in WvW for a gift of battle.
They should filter out daily and weekly pve objectives you dont have access to yet
One thing I haven't heard much about is Laurels, I got thousands to use up now that log in loot is no more.

Got 1k AA and thus 500g from the release till now. Wizard's Vault is more than 100% better rewards.

i hit the currency cap in 2 days and have no idea what to buy before it gives me more vault currency lol, im thinking ascended gear because ive never had any before but if the armor is worse than my exotic gear im going to be mad as hell lol i dont want to waste my vault currency.
Ascended is better then exotic. on par with legendary stat wise.
i decided to get ascended armor, i wasnt impressed with the stats, only slightly better than my exotic armor, now im re-saving up vault currency for a exotic weapon after googling the exact stats this time and theres a 12% difference between exotic and ascended weapons which is pretty decent and i wish i knew that so i could of got the ascended weapon chest first since its way better than the ascended armor chest@@Seehron
@@wiiagentAscended armor, Trinkets and Weapons are needed to slot AGONY RESIST infusions, in order to do higher level Fractals.
* Add some AR [agony resistance] to the armor and then you can do Fractals higher than level 20 or 30 [I can't remember which].

I've made more legendaries than I can remember and sold a bunch of them. In the first legendary starter kit I've crafted all four and own three of them. Bought it anyway for the gift of might or magic. I have a love-hate relationship with Quip (the one I previously sold and got in the box now), but if I ever do decide I want it I'm more than half way. In the meantime I'll use the Gift of Might I got for another weapon. Love the vault!

Just login per alt will be 25g per month.
05 astral / day = gain
06 astral / gold reward = cost
~30 days / month > 5*30=150 gain / month
~30 days / month > 150/6=25
Do some easy daily/weekly stuff and you can get the full 90g and maybe some more with the 30 astral / coin thingies

One of my friends asked me what I thought on it and I didn't have an answer, because I hadn't done any math on it. I should just not answer stupid questions. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what other number crunchers think. I think the mystic coins look alright. The mystic clovers are a rip off, but they're better than much of the other things on there. The griffon is highly tempting, even though I'm not sure I'll even use it. Will be interesting to see what they add in the future.

ive already earned close to 200g with the vault, bought all the 1g for 6, mystic coins, and mastery coffers
Contrary to popular belief, alt accounts aren't dead. You get 5 acclaim just for logging in. If we presume a season is 3 months, thats 5 X 90 = 450 acclaim - just from logging in. That is enough to get 75 raw gold if you pick that option, 50 mystic coins, or 45 laurel bags. Or you can get the 30 heavy crafting bags with 240 acclaim and have leftovers, if you have soto on that alt account. Now some of the pve dailies are extremely easy - like my alt account had a mine 15 things daily. That adds another 10. If you put in a tiny bit more work, you can get a pretty decent amount of extra acclaim on your alt account just by spending a tiny bit more time. Some weeklies are easy too - I had a salvage 50 item one on my alt account. That adds another 40. Sure its not as brain dead easy as simply logging in your several thousand alt accounts (if you''re one of those people) from before this change , but if you have just a small number of alt accounts this is actually pretty decent.
You can even gear your alt account in ascended gear now for "free" for the lulz if you wanted via the ascended boxes.

If they add the wvw/pvp reward track potions int that shop. Itll be reallyyyy good. So just waiting on that and I think everyone is really happy
A couple of important disclaimers:
1.) The Legendary Starter kit is limited quantity. I think you can only buy one per quarter.
2.) The precursor you get from it (in my case, I bought the Bolt starter kit, so I got Zap as part of that) is Account Bound, so it cannot be sold on the TP.
It is truly great and will save you money if you want a head start on a legendary weapon, but if you're buying it as an acclaim-to-gold pipeline, you'll find yourself very disappointed.
well, that depends on whether the legendary you produce with this precursor is account bound, because it is far more profitable to craft legendaries and sell them. And i doubt anything you get out of mystic forge is account restricted.

That said, the way I feel like the info was shared here could be interpreted in a way that you could buy the starter kit and sell the precursor. Which, while I am sure is not what was meant at all, could be inadvertently misleading.

honestly what I see as a jackpot is buying extra storage, I NEED that since im struggling a bit, i feel like that is the first thing that everyone should buy at this point.
Next priority would be if they rotate to sunrise legendary components OR mystic clovers

The rewards are good that's for sure but at the same time that's also an issue imo. I don't like dailies / weeklies.. I just wanna log in and do whatever i want but these rewards are so good that I feel like I have to do my daily/weekly chores all the time.
I also much prefered the old daily tasks where i could pick the easy ones or just skip a day if there aren't any quick ones (just 2g right? w/e if i miss a day).
It has potential I think but in the current state it feels more like a job than anything else to me.
then dont do it, as you said you dont wanna do weekly dailies, then dont. if you want the rewards then do it. theres many ways to get the same rewards even if you dont do the vault
The amount you can earn doing every daily, weekly and special far exceeds what's needed for the non-generic rewards. Skip a day or two if that's what you feel
6 astral coins > mystic coins > black coffer > 30 astral coins bag.
Finally! Something we all can do that allows us to farm gold. Coz the game, for so long, never really had a significant way for new players to farm gold which is really annoying.
The vault is secretly the best thing anet did for pvp. Easy liquid gold, WEEKLLIES, build expansions, armor and weapon skins, even more transmutation charges, and the pvp dailies and weeklies are probably THE Easiest content to do. (with the exception that you might need to do a tournament here and there which is a huge waste of time)
I never considered touching legendaries and all I have to do is craft a gift of might and I am getting a free bolt...
I would prefer if the system provided, say, 3 of each. PVE, WVW, and PVP. And then when you do 3 of any combination (1 WvW 2 Pvp or 3 PvE or 1 of each whatever you want to do) it locks the daily rewards. Then something similar with Weeklies.
That's my only issue with it. I picked pve and wvw. Now I'm forced to do WvW weeklies without a choice. I'd love to see like 8 we can choose from then lock the rest out.

I've spent 10 years avoiding legendary weapon crafting. 2 days into expansion and now have one thanks to new system

@drios8809 i already had enough clovers and ectoplasm and just brought about 70 each of the gift of might materials, so just paying for them was about 60ish gold

My impression is that the cheap rewards will give you less than the old dailies while the expensive ones will have much more value. In total the new system has more flexible rewards. But be careful, prices will change due to the new system.
classic move from anet to rework something that works fine, to then make it worse. we have less choice of what dailies we wanna do and only have 4 dailies available(compared to 12 before), less reward, and if we chose the wrong modes at the start of the week, too bad for you, you wont get the weekly/daily chest unless you complete some long difficult task in pvp/wvw.
anet could have spent those resources to make make completing the same raid/raid boss more than one time a week give kp. dungeons could drop unidentified gear instead of identified gear that fill up your inventory and add stat selectable gear to the dungeon vendor. trinkets could also be added to the dungeon vendor to incentivice people to do dungeons to gear their characters. it would also be a free way for people to get good gear.

I do not pvp wvw or do group content so have not done a daily since launch. I preferred the old system. New story is fun.
Also the markets on the precursor items are dropping already, significantly more for ones in the current cycle. Which should be expected.
Anyways legendaries are dropping drastically, sellers are so damn impatient in order to get their precious gold, they cut prices by literal hundreds of gold. Thanks to all those little desperate sellers now I'm completing my legy collection.

So basically always buy all the legendary starter kits for any legendary weapon you still want/need (to not miss out)? I've not seen anything come close to the same value.
I think you missed the items have limits to how many you can purchasw which is why the gold find is 1k coins because the legendary box is only 1 per and the ascended itemms is 2 weapons and 3 armorr
The mystic coins seem like a good deal for money making too

the n00b traps I think are hilarious 😂 ok I shouldnt laugh, I play another game that have a very similar system and they actually also put a ton of just regular mob mats in their ver of vault - and I guess the idea is if dont want to grind mobs for the mats, can just buy from the shop. that said the currency for that other game is a by product of pulling on the gatcha (thus, no real effort to obtain the currency) whereas the AA actually takes gameppay effort lol but I guess can come in handy in a pinch or if ur swimming in AA later on n really need to use them up before cap.
I love the new vault!!! it really incentivizes playing various diff parts of the game, tho as someone lazy n used to not bother with dailies, now I have to work more 😂 but the rewards are so worth it I can't even truly complain XD
the only sucky part is the got rid of the wvw pots, was hoping to bank 480 n run through 6x triumphant armor track in one go, but oh well. I think they upped the amount of bonus chests in wvw as replacement for the pots cuz a couple nights ago when I did a lot of wvw it felt like I keep opening bonus chests.

What about item limits? 60 Mystic coins means the limit is the same as before if the refresh only happens on quarterly updates. With much less people being able to get them as previously they required login only. MC will become a heck more expensive if it works that way.
u could get 20 mystic coins per month with the previous system, which is the same as 60 mystic coins every 3 months.
The market will balance itself out. If the raw gold is worth more, the alt accounts will buy gold, and the price of MC will rise. If MC are worth more than gold, they'll buy the MC and their supply will drop the price. It's an equilibrium, and while that balance point may not be where it was pre-SotO, there is still a balance point and it will naturally shift to it.
All that to say there's no point in worrying.
@@akhsdenlew1861 But previously the supply of MCs was sustained by dozens of alt accounts that were used only to collect login reward. Now buying 60 MCs in 3 months requires actually doing dailies. Just logging in does not give you enough AA. You don't think a person who had 20 alts will be doing dailies and weeklies on 20 accounts, right?

@@lazycanadian9165 Yes, and it's exremely good that all those cheesy log in abusers with 50 accounts are gone.
Someone who plays the game should get rewarded, someone who doesn't play the game should not get rewarded.
People who abused that log in reward system ( it shouldn't exist in the first place) are finally gone.
And the normal players that are playing the game are getting the exact amount of mystic coins they were always getting, but they also get a lot more rewards.
So overall, this new system is at least 20 times better, minimum.

Hi, I have a doubt about the legendary weapon starter kit. Can you only purchased one per account or you can purchase one every new season of the Wizard's Vault?
You can purchase one every season but if you buy the sword package you won’t have access to the other 3 weapon options next season because then you can only buy one of the next 4 weapons

As for legendaries, i have the quip and bifrost. i just need 77 clover and the two gifts of might and magic 😆😆 i have everything else before the expansion dropped
Check out Miami and the new Soto vendor for mystic clover purchasing. Soto vendor is unbound I think, Miami is 10 per week.

Legendary Starter Kit saved 300 gold but took away the opportunity to get a Gift of Battle without participating in the WvW. For me, this is more of a minus for people who do not play WvW
Still grieving over WvW / PvP potions, will be missed wonder what they would have costed to be a fare price. But i do look forward to my next 1k points, that legendary box will be next. Wonder if the legendary will be Account locked, I will guess not :D
No it won't, you can already see the prices of those 4 weapons have dropped significally in the AH
is there a use for alt accounts now? are the daily login bonuses gone?
I don't even know which legendary I'd make. Staff/staff mirage isn't good, so don't use it anymore and sword may not be used in virtuoso either. lol I saw the price of precursors dropped big time with this.
Besides what you mentioned why the kitten is the cap for AA 1300? Like that's such a weird number to land on
We won't know till next quarterly update when it rotates. Presumably there will be no rewards more than 1300.
@@battlebots1 I mean even if there are rewards at 1300 for whatever reason the cap of what you can hold should be something like 1500 or 2000 makes no sense.
5:51 idk if they actually want you in the mystic forge, since lhyr just sells clovers now. 3 coins 3 obsidian 5 ectos and 3 spirit shards per. so a little more expensive than gambeling, but stable price.
It's actually a lot more expensive once you consider the value of returned materials on failed forges. The vendor is 100% a convenience tax and everyone should still be forging clovers the normal way once their discounted options are maxed out.
If you just need a low amount of clovers, lyhr is a valid option. Pretty sure some people will crunch the numbers about that soon
mmm a a question about the essence/ acclaims. Do they refresh weekly? Say I have like 800 at the end of the week, do they disappear if not used the next week?
No. The 1300 serves at the cap so you can't hoard it between quarterly patches. But up to 1300 you can keep your acclaim saved up as much as you want as long as you want.

@@itsmistaK92 I don't think they should disappear. Arenanet hasn't said for sure as far as I know, but I think they would carry over, otherwise there is no point to the acclaim cap.
