"I don't know what I did to deserve that" when speaking about subs. You've busted your tail to give us the best Diablo 3 seasons we could possibly have, every season. You deserve far more than what you're getting.
I have played this game since the day it came out. I have thousands of hours playing. I had NO IDEA you could just throw your skills around on the skill bar like that! Learn something every day.
Nice video! One thing for newer players to take note of is the bug that can occur with the Momentum stacks. Watch 18:44 where Raxx shoots off a few Hungering Arrows in a row, but they do not add Momentum stacks. You'll want to look out for this as it can happen often and can ruin your damage if you don't notice your stacks falling off. Cheers! :)
That bug basically occur when you throw a hungering arrow while still being strafing. I generally just stop strafing for a fraction of a second before I throw hungering Arrow to avoid that bug.
After years of not playing D3, I'll be coming back for the last season before D4 drops. This is the build that I will starting with. Thanks for sharing Raxx
The altar has made it fun, you can really ramp up faster if you are into that (I'm sort of into it granted I'm literally only now past Paragon 800 at this point).
Hey Raxx! As a D3 newbie (just a little late to the party XD) I can't tell you enough how much you've helped us understand the game. I'm glad you're gaining more subs because you don't waste any time giving us nothing but useful information and tips, much appreciate it! You mentioned during your playthrough how it was a bad map, is there a video you did explaining how to tell if a map generation is bad?
This is by far the most fun build I've ever played in D3. Will probably be playing this for the rest of my D3 time, S29 and beyond even. Thanks for all you've done for the D3 community!
I will be goblin blasting 10000ing this season for my final season before Diablo IV 😀 thanks for all you do Raxx its the best content for Diablo i have ever seen
Thank you so much. The play demo is going to solve my 2 major problems - momentum and hatred; I learned 2 things I nevr knew today and you are the best.
You get sick for the same reason I do -- simulator sickness.(Named from folks who got sick in flight simulators.) The brain gets confused if your inner ear senses that you're sitting still while your eyes see the action on the screen and tell the brain you're moving. When your DH goes at super fast speeds the whole screen is bobbing back and forth and you have nothing to focus on to mitigate the feeling of movement (Sometimes being a bit farther from the screen helps because your brain will perceive more of reality that's not moving)
Your investment in this game to the benefit of all is so appreciated. Thank you for everything you've done to make the D3 experience as good as it can be. You're a legend.
Hey Rax appreciate your videos. Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I'm a very casual player and honestly I'm more looking to extend my season and challenge myself in the build-up to the endgame. I don't spend a lot of time in the endgame; I usually get super bored pushing GR's...just too repetitive and ultimately frustrating (ie one shot insta-deaths) for me. So last season I started doing the following to help extend the build up to the endgame: 1. didn't pick up the challenge rift rewards 2. didn't pick up the starting set gifts 3. only played a few hours a day (mixed in other games / activities if I had a lot of free time) 4. picked the most time consuming seasonal challenges (like set dungeons masteries or something) I know it sounds counterintuitive but I wanted to spend more time in season where I have the most fun: the build-up. The endgame GR pushing thing gets boring after a few hours for me so I usually tap out at around 100. Anyway I don't know why I posted this, I know your videos and guides are for ultra high level players. But I think there might be an audience for the more chill and casual gameplay as well. Like how do I extend my season instead of blasting through it in 2 days?

BUT Rax this build is amazing and has brought me back to D3 for its last season, this is fast, fun, and a serious trip to play!!
Raxx your guide has worked great. Starting out could not use my Challenge rift challenge, thought i had done something that would not let me use it. Had tried it a few times prior without completing it earlier. Now I have completed it and used it for the Altar. Also soloed 100 GR last night (no augs) and my Altar is complete except for the 1600 BS and two potion slotes. Which I am going to complete today. Thanks for all the tips!!
still the UE set feels more relaxing, while also very fast and strong for T16 keys, bounties and speed GRs. So I will switch from GOD Set starter to UE as fast as possible. Bonus, both builds can share the Yangs Bow 😇 One Yang Primal coming up ;)
I’ve played this build a lot and I find it’s better for me to have it on left mouse with strafe on right. Hold strafe and tap left button from time to time is easy for me and I generally have no issue keeping stacks up
Again a very good guide and good explained Raxx! For all who gonna blast with GoD DH, good luck! It's a really good and very fast build! But after 6 seasons of DH for me, I want something else or I'm going to get bored too quickly. Wizard is my starter for s28. Good luck to all of you and 'have fun'!
Thank you. I have been talking about force stand still on the space bar for 8 years. For bonus points points force move on the mouse wheel. Game solved GG ty raxx
Just an alternative idea for those curious, for my force standstill, I put it on my Mouse Button 4, which is next to my thumb, so I hold right click to strafe and hold my thumb button at all times, and then I left click to throw arrows. It allows you to do everything with just your mouse hand pretty much. Especially if you Numlock all your buffs to auto fire, you can literally just use your mouse except for potions. GL in the new season everyone!
I have all my skills and my potion on my mouse, although I also have secondary binds for the skills to allow me to numlock the buffs if I want. My thumb button is always my movement skills, like pony, teleport, etc. Last season I was using the thumb button for strafe.
Just ran this with all non-ancient set with no augments. 1000 paragon. gems at 70 or lower. Worked like a charm. Slowed down at T100 but still completed with half time left. AWESOME BUILD!! One Question??? Why switch to Yangs for some builds when Multishot isn't in the build?
Yang's gives you so much resource cost reduction that your hatred doesn't deplete even when there are no enemies to shoot. So, you can zip through bounties and T16 where everything dies so fast that, most of the time, your arrows are not hitting anything.
this guide is GOD-tier, with all the details and tricks, it made me join the channel. And I don't even play DH, it's that good. Thanks for the content also, are you planning on updating WIZ guides or they are the same?
Great video, Raxx. In another video, you recommend starting with a Necro, to level, quickly, to 18 and then switching into the Class you want to play. I've forgot: is the armour set that Haedrig's Gift provides determined by the first Class you start with in the season?
@@Raxxanterax Thanks for this. I did get it figured out. As for me, I went with the Wizard. I've not, really, used the Typhon Build, but, it's great. All I do is throw down some dragons and walk around and pick-up orbs. A very fun build. Best! J
You mention the placement of hungering arrow on your mouse or keyboard. How is a console affected by this? Do we have to stop moving or does it still fire a HA during movement?
I feel like the clicking for momentum is somewhat intentional to keep the build slightly more balanced. You might loose 3-4 seconds from it on every 2 minute gr100 farm run. It’s a way of slowing down your farm just a bit without playing with damage numbers
As someone who has been a DH main since launch, Raxx is not joking when he says to fear the spinners. Enemies can spin to win too, and if you're not paying attention they will win
i used to hate dealing with the Lashers. especially in the barracks. they always seemed to know when i was about to break down a door and were on me before i knew it.
I am 100% with you Rax. I wish they could make it so that strafe casts hungering arrows automatically, so that you wouldn’t have to manually cast it all the time. We now have one strafe build. Since, multishot strafe or other strafe builds aren’t around any more. I just makes sense. Come on Blizzard!
A significantly easier way to play this build is to keep hungering arrow on the mouse but don't hold space. Instead, you use the numlock trick on all other skills so they auto cast when you're not pressing anything. Then when strafing, you very briefly release it then hit space and hungering arrow at the same time, then go back to strafing. That slight millisecond break between strafing and hungering arrow means that everything will be autocast. So you just hold the right mouse button and every few seconds release it and hit space and hungering arrow, then repeat. That's it...the muscle memory develops quick and it's the easiest build to play.
Hey Raxx, as a casual, having done previous seasons on different characters, but never reaching a GR150. Now with the alter and buffs, will the GoD DH be able to do a GR150 if I push hard this season? So I can finally say I did a GR150 or will I have to farm a different solo push set?
Was unsure whether to play monk or wizard this season and then you come with this. Never really played DH since when I did they felt squishy and complicated. Preferred simple, braindead builds like Whirlrend barb, Inna or Sunwuko monk. Well, why not end my time in Diablo 3 with a new and fresh experience 😁
@raxxanterax you said dont sleep on the night stalker passive, ive been playing demon hunter for a long time and ive found that blood vengeance seems to be slept on even more. it provides tons of hatred, and additionally discipline when you pick up health globes, which are scattered about like dropped candy.
Great guide - thanks! Having tried a few runs (110 gr) it seems that cold works better than lightning. I have better lightning gear than cold (4.0m sheet damage compared to 3.5m sheet damage - and yes, I know sheet damage doesn't tell much) but still cold is 1.5 minutes faster on gr 110 (3m 5s vs. 4m 45s). This is with paragon 2820, so I'm quite impressed with Raxx running GR100 that fast with a much "worse" character. Maybe I just suck.
How about having depth diggers cubed instead of gold wrap so you can wear the chest piece that drops more gold. I did that seasons ago that was great for t16 especially when your at the stage of not Picking up everything.
Me = So happy! lol I don't like mental fatigue when playing video games. Some people don't get it like me and like to micro manage. I like chill play style.
Forgot to say, I put hungering arrow on 1 and map that key to w. Very easy to tap w and strafe. I have shift mapped to g600 3rd button. Little finger easily controls the shift.
Yeah but it’s still 99% brain dead. You auto to get 20 stacks when entering a rift, strafe, and then throw one auto out every 4-5 seconds. If you are geared well enough at a basic level you should be able to do t16 and GR100+ speeds without really worrying about anything at all less some reflect elites from time to time.
Compare this against any build that uses CoE and you'll see why it's braindead. Hold down one button while periodically hitting a second, vs for example run around for a while gathering enemies, then 2 seconds into the element prior to your damaging one do something, then at the start of your element do another thing and finally attack
What would you recommend crafting as your primal? I was thinking belt as it’s a pretty big modifier, but could technically be gambled easier than a wep or something
Saved this video for day 1 of the season.... im not sure wether to build this or a necro build to start with but necro will make it easier to save my seasonal cache for the 1st week.... decisions decisions
I have a question about Unity ring on the follower, but none of the setups have one on the DH. It says that damage is shared between wearers, so how does it help the DH if she’s not wearing a Unity in the ring slot or cube? Is there some hidden mechanic?
My only question is best button layout on console as I didn't have a pc back when it came out and didn't want to start fresh when I finally got a decent one last year
Seen as we will have a lot of bonus defence and a shield from the Altar I think dropping the Fortress Ballista is fine. I would go for Calamity instead of Valla's when pushing, casting Marked for Death on all enemies so they take 15% extra Dmg. If you Equip Marked for Death, instead of Preparation/Fan of Knives, with the Mortal Enemy rune it also becomes a Hatred generator all by itself if your having resource issues.
What do you mean by Blizzard will give us 4GR tiers for free? Which buff are you talking about? i casually play d3 on and off, so i sadly dont understand anything, but im hyped for this season!
heya, i followed the build planner for the beginning of the season and now am sitting on a 30k dex DH enjoying the hell out of my time^^ using the variant with the Yangs Bow and full shock dmg setup for speed grinding goblins in hopes for some cosmic wings after all these years^^ Definetly worth to give this build a shot, especially for those who are like me and used Marauder/Ninja set on DH for the most part. Great Guide, love the different variations you showed - i even build a few extra ones and would love to know your opinion on adding Guardians Belt and Arms to the solo push version for the additional 100% Dex you put on the entire gear via augments etc. - the spike you get in terms of dex is crazy and the only change u gotta do is swap the convention from the kanais cube into an fortune ring
I played GoD for the first and only time a few seasons ago and loved it, more than whirlrend at the time. I just got a primal satchel last night for HA. Not much for next season, but it gives me time to practice.
I’ve always loved bola builds and that skill is fun and a missed opportunity in my opinion. Do the bolas compare to HA at all dos wise? I know there is a bow and quiver for bola but that’s it. Not sure how it compares but for fun I might try that. Insta explode grouping bola is so fun
@@keziaduck5910 If it can't do 100+ speeds at one point I probably won't do it then. With other builds capable of running 110+ there is no reason for me to run that build 20 Grs lower, as fun as it might be. But I also wonder with the season theme if it could go higher than that as it is with the recent altar baseline damage buffs. We will find out soon enough.
So you move around with Strafe and throw hungering arrows, ok. But what about fan of knives? When do you use that? And i have seen it use it only in high GRs and have companion instead at the beginning?
Does D3 have any kind of macro feature where I can 'program' a macro to click my S1-4 with just the one button, or would I need a keyboard with macro buttons to do this?
Raxx you killed spin-to-win for Natalya. What was the purpose to do that, if anyway, everyone prefers spin-to-win, but Nalalya' set does not have those issues, is more flexible regardiing to sets combination, does not have a requirement to click every second s button and the dps, was higher that even the updated dps in GoD.
Hey Raxx and whoever else, I have a few in the weeds questions: 1) It's already GoDly but can I do anything to make it even more safe for HC? For example I'm thinking of subbing out COE for Elusive Ring. Thoughts? (And it probably makes sense to drop a passive for Cheat Death right? Cull the weak maybe?) 2) A lot of people run Wolf Companion instead, can you discuss your decisionmaking to rec Fan of Knives instead? I'm onboard, bc, hardcore survivability :) But just curious how you make these tradoffs/decisions. 3) Regarding "Fear Spinners" - OK I am successfully afraid- but what is it I need to do to not die to them? Just make sure they die asap?
Hm, almost regret planning wizard. Maybe I'll make an alt DH. One hint with these kinds of builds: skip speed pylons. You don't need them and their increased attack speed will mess up your resource management.
If you plan an alt DH its best to just start with it, get the god set for free, make easy t16/bountie farmer on day 1, get your wizard up to push. Will be the fastest way for any class actually, free dh , farm your class.
@@nuyya6080 but wizard doesn't get Tal Rasha as the starter set, you get the hydra one, so it still makes sense to start DH for the great farming build and then assemble Tal's from there
Hi Raxx, appreciate your videos and guides. It would be also helpful if you could also add suggestions for Hardcore mode? Like possibly what changes you would make in the standard build when playing on hardcore mode? I did play hardcore on season 27, casually, and was happy to just get to gr130. But as DH, I never used nemesis bracers because of the spinners. Wondering if that's normal while playing on hardcore, or do players still use nemesis bracers despite the spinners, and somehow just run away from them? And do you still use sqirt's necklace on hardcore? I was using traveler's pledge and compass rose most of the time, just for the dmg reduction.
Squishiness is quite understandable. However, I do have some issues with resource generation in push build, strafe eats the whole hatred amount in a few seconds if you do pauses for primary skill attack every 2 seconds or so. Is that intended or should I have more cost reduction in my gear? I had to roll cdr in both crossbows to get a total of 37%, and I have only ~24% cost reduction with my current equip.

Agree. Especially with certain builds (GoD is one), how you set up your bindings has a huge effect on how enjoyable and effective it is.
Which pet is THAT???
was it a Blizzcon swag item?
Is there a guide anywhere on how to build your followers and which I should use?
When we're all inevitably disappointed with D4, I hope you and the Maxroll guys just start making your own arpg. Keep up your amazing work!
Got the same question +1
16:05 i always do 98 b/c that assures thtat all 12 drops are orange. GR 90 sometimes still drops a couple blues/yellows
That pet is juste really really freakin nice....
@raxxanterax you said dont sleep on the night stalker passive, ive been playing demon hunter for a long time and ive found that blood vengeance seems to be slept on even more. it provides tons of hatred, and additionally discipline when you pick up health globes, which are scattered about like dropped candy.
what pet is that ? how you got that pet ?
What I really hate is when they call it a “brain dead” build when it really isn’t. If you have to be aware of anything it’s not a brain dead build.
Probably ring or ammy, too hard to get with gambling or upgrading rares
Saved this video for day 1 of the season.... im not sure wether to build this or a necro build to start with but necro will make it easier to save my seasonal cache for the 1st week.... decisions decisions
I played Shadow Impale in S27, and loved it.
I was looking for a spin to win, and this is perfect.
Thanks Raxx! Great guide as usual and you answered all the questions I had from before. All the best.
What do you mean by Blizzard will give us 4GR tiers for free? Which buff are you talking about? i casually play d3 on and off, so i sadly dont understand anything, but im hyped for this season!
the damage on the GoD set was increased to equal about 4 GR tiers higher, so just a bunch more damage for the set for free :)
i'm glad i got to see this one i have been having this happen to me since DH came out and i couldnt get anyone to tell me how to fix it
Nice video m8
Have u done the video about witch order u shall take the nods in the Altar?
heya, i followed the build planner for the beginning of the season and now am sitting on a 30k dex DH enjoying the hell out of my time^^ using the variant with the Yangs Bow and full shock dmg setup for speed grinding goblins in hopes for some cosmic wings after all these years^^ Definetly worth to give this build a shot, especially for those who are like me and used Marauder/Ninja set on DH for the most part.
The #1 reason why the Goblin Blaster 10,000 is better than the Goblin Blaster 9,000 is the fact that it is
OVER 9,000!!!!!!!!!
I played GoD for the first and only time a few seasons ago and loved it, more than whirlrend at the time. I just got a primal satchel last night for HA. Not much for next season, but it gives me time to practice.
But you need to spam all other spell no? Or you use the numlock tech?
when doing speed T16's why not go for Wreath of Lighting for the 25% move speed? with strafe you get the move speed pretty much all the time.
he already said the movespeed is way too fast as it is lol
I recommend people try the Bola version with the bola bow and quiver. pixeling mobs + a bit more aoe. really really good for t16 and low speeds
@@georgen5882 its more than enough for t16 and 85 90 grs speeds
@@keziaduck5910 If it can't do 100+ speeds at one point I probably won't do it then. With other builds capable of running 110+ there is no reason for me to run that build 20 Grs lower, as fun as it might be. But I also wonder with the season theme if it could go higher than that as it is with the recent altar baseline damage buffs. We will find out soon enough.
@@georgen5882 with the altar and augments u should be fine. Gotta try it tho
So you move around with Strafe and throw hungering arrows, ok. But what about fan of knives? When do you use that? And i have seen it use it only in high GRs and have companion instead at the beginning?
Does D3 have any kind of macro feature where I can 'program' a macro to click my S1-4 with just the one button, or would I need a keyboard with macro buttons to do this?
no guardian set bracers/belt ring in the cube?
Raxx you killed spin-to-win for Natalya. What was the purpose to do that, if anyway, everyone prefers spin-to-win, but Nalalya' set does not have those issues, is more flexible regardiing to sets combination, does not have a requirement to click every second s button and the dps, was higher that even the updated dps in GoD.
i had the same problem with the speed last season. I got like vertigo from it. Nerfed my speed to compensate.
Which will be stronger POJ monk or GoD DH for solo pushing? Is POJ more chill/easier you think? I just want to hold down right click and go lol
Dude! Never knew we could drag and drop the skills to switch... Well it's never too late, is it?
With the season shield, you don't need FB, I would use the bow with rcr for even gr farm
Just finished farming 100 keys in ~45 minutes. This is OP.
Hm, almost regret planning wizard. Maybe I'll make an alt DH.
One hint with these kinds of builds: skip speed pylons. You don't need them and their increased attack speed will mess up your resource management.
The speed pylons won't be an issue with the altar node: resource on crit.
If you plan an alt DH its best to just start with it, get the god set for free, make easy t16/bountie farmer on day 1, get your wizard up to push.
Will be the fastest way for any class actually, free dh , farm your class.
the thing is tal rasha wizard can speed 130s, i am not sure if god dh is able to do that
@@nuyya6080 but wizard doesn't get Tal Rasha as the starter set, you get the hydra one, so it still makes sense to start DH for the great farming build and then assemble Tal's from there
Hi Raxx, appreciate your videos and guides.
Think I'll start here and then once set farm and farm and then build the Sourcer as it is my second build I want to try.
How do you generate discipline? I tried to find it.
lgithing only for t16 ? or can u play it in grs as well?
Squishiness is quite understandable. However, I do have some issues with resource generation in push build, strafe eats the whole hatred amount in a few seconds if you do pauses for primary skill attack every 2 seconds or so. Is that intended or should I have more cost reduction in my gear? I had to roll cdr in both crossbows to get a total of 37%, and I have only ~24% cost reduction with my current equip.
