Nice wildlife footage. The saltwater catfish are pretty cool looking with the longer fins. You put him in timeout 🤣. That’s sweet staying at a place right on the canal like that. My in-laws stay in Cape Coral every winter👍🏻. Nice change up Joe!!!
Thanks for checking it out Chris! It’s our annual trip and we just love it down there off the gulf coast
A great way to relax and spend some time sitting in the sun. Glad you enjoyed your vacation bro!
TBH I only fished when the wife and girls were sleeping or doing something else. I had too much fun at the beach, the boardwalks and pool with beverages to sit there watching bait all day!
There were some great moments where my wife was netting them and even saved my Plusinno from getting dragged off the dock lol!
Looks like a beautiful place to vacation. I hope you and your family enjoyed yourselves. Those fish were hilarious with the squeaking sounds. 😂
It was tough because the pool was so nice and the property was beautiful. Still got a lot of scenery in, so that was fun. I love that o lean air and breeze 24/7…
Great time of fishing and vacation.
Yes it was!
Love hearing that grunt - LOL
They are a hoot!
Honestly I could sit and catch those guys all day long and be content. Nice upload Joe
Glad you enjoyed it Greg!
Yes sir!!! My family and I are planning to get to FL to Universal Studi. You best believe that I am taking my travel set up!!
Awesome, we didn’t want to leave. I’d like to make a permanent move down there for sure
Solid video and those fish were speaking in some kind of 👽tongue haha I loved that! This video was put together super nicely!
Appreciate it!! Those catfish were definitely talkers😂🤣
Great job in some unfamiliar waters Joe. Fantastic video.
Thanks! We had a few pretty hilarious moments where my wife was netting and both poles almost ended up in the water…good times lol
Wow! Looks so nice there! I am pretty jealous! That's so cute those little noise they make lol. Poor thing, makes me feel bad for them! Awesome video!
How could you eat something while it’s begging for freedom?😂🤣
If pike could talk I imagine it would sound more like the Predator lol
Great tips. I went down to Jacksonville over Christmas tried my luck fishing for some fresh water and got skunked next time I will try the salt. 👍
It’s definitely a lot easier with using shrimp this time of year. That summer heat shuts down that canal bite.
nice fishing spot, i like this
Thank you!
Dude your awesome the way you thank the fish i thought i was the only one who did that. I just moved to cape coral nd i havent fishes yet but dang im lookin forward to it
Thank you! Best of luck to you down there!👍🎣
Definitely a different approach to this kind of fishing. Still looked really fun. Beautiful area that's for sure. It's always cool to support a local bait shop but bummer about getting over charged. Cool looking fish !
The river I fished had the same thing as well…🤦🏻
Thanks for watching Jared!
I love st. Clair, but I LOVE Florida. Looks like a blast. Wish I could go. those were some crazy looking catfish too.
Definitely have to do a freshwater trip down there. It’s definitely on my list💯
That would be amazing. The bass get huge down there. And theres snakehead and peacock bass.
@@michiganfishing8094 Heck I’m still trying to find someone to do a guide with me up here lol
I believe it was the first fish, it had a lot to say to you haha. Looked like a very nice place. Hope you enjoyed your vacation and I'm glad you found some time catch some Florida kitties! 👍🎣
We had a great time and hated to leave…those fish definitely wanted to be heard lol
Here for it, Bro!
Legend!
That's a pretty area down there. Thanks for sharing.
It sure is, thanks for watching!
@@live2fishofficial yep
Wanna see Burrowing Owls?
Go to Rotary Park visiting center in Cape Coral. They will give you a map of the town where Burrowing Owls and Monk parakeets are nesting up close. Went there in May. PELICAN BASEBALL COMPLEX is where we got good pictures and videos there. have fun Joe!
Thanks for the info! There was actually one of the smaller owl sanctuary locations a door down from us. They visited us daily, sitting on the windowsills and hanging out. It was cool!
@@live2fishofficial I guess those Burrowing Owls are everywhere in Cape Coral. That ball park is on Pelican Bvld , you can't miss it.
My wife is a birder that loves to fish. ...I'm a fisher that loves to look at birds lol. This weekend I'm head nort' and hit St Clair Pier , St Clair Metro Park, Brandenburg Park, and probably 9 mile pier. Never been up there yet!
Just came across your video. I'm from the Detroit area but I live in Clinton Township now. But I lived in cape coral for a couple years. I fish in LSC now. It's cool finding someone with the common places and interests. Keep posting and I'll keep watching.
Wow! What a small world!
Did you do much fishing down there when you lived there? I find it interesting and challenging that there is access to both fresh water and salt water in the same area. It probably hasn’t helped that we go down there during the hottest dog days of summer.
Glad to see another local who can appreciate what an absolute treasure we have with LSC in our backyard. It’s such an amazing lake!
Thanks for the support and welcome to the channel!👍🎣
I had my fly fishing set up and gave it a try but never really had any luck.
My son and I are gonna get kayaks for Xmas. Next year we'll really get out on LSC.
Much respect on the release and handling of the fish. Great info. Thanks!!!!
Thank you!
@@live2fishofficial arent the fins poisenoius? my buddy got pricked and had to go to ER. we use kevlar gloves now
@@carlocarlos I don’t think so, at least not these ones. I got poked by one of the barbs down there and it was a mild swelling, like a mild bee sting. Sorry to hear about your buddy!
Good ol whisker sharks. Lol
They’re a vocal bunch…I call em the Karens of the Canals lol
@@live2fishofficial hahaha. Dude you're funny
The best part of catfish is when they oink and croak! Nice change of pace, dude.
They’re vocal up here too, but nothing like these ones lol! Thanks, had a blast and hated to leave
Wow I've never seen a fish that makes sounds. It sounded like an ewok! The fishing may be slow, but the scenery sure is pretty!
Those catfish have quite the squak box lol! It was so beautiful down there. Thanks for checking it out Marc!👍
The house you stayed at that was me family's old vacation house
It was wonderful!
Hey pal if you make it back to The Cape try to stay as close to the mouth of the river or ocean as you can. Also try to keep your bait off the bottom you wont catch as many catfish. I found my best luck in the canals was at night with cut bait and in the morning until about noon with shrimp. I down sized my tackle the last time I was there almost like I was fishing for panfish and it seemed to produce more fish. There are a lot of different fish in there you just have to find them. April seems to be a good time to fish there. Great content keep it up.
Thanks so much for the advice and the kind words. Where we stayed was the first canal in from the inlet at the mouth of the river by that Jaycee Park.
I wish we could get down there earlier in the season, I know July isn’t ideal for sure. Solid advice tho and I’ll definitely follow up on those tips next year - tight lines!
Those little catfish are everywhere, definitely different to fish where the tide affects everything so much
They were certainly plentiful! It was neat to watch the ecosystem change so much with the tide
Was hoping to see a bit of fishing from you down there. Knowing the tide schedule is essential when fishing areas like that, but you did a great job. Hope you all had a blast. (On another note, might want to go over your description, I'm sure its not what you meant :) )
Bahahahahahaha! I knew that cutting and pasting my OnlyFans title was a HUGE mistake!😂🤣
@@live2fishofficial LOL
Man, those little guys are everywhere down there. They get pretty annoying after catching about the 600th one…… and you WILL get stuck by one of those barbs eventually. 😩
No doubt! I got jabbed but not too bad so the pain wasn’t too severe. Thanks for checking it out!
I fish in the canals in and around Punta Gorda Isles.. Been here since 2004 yeah Charley.. Hey all the fish here are in the canals.. The depth goes from 6 ft to 26 ft.. I've got 3,000 miles on the water here and you're best chance on fish is in the saltwater canals. Look for moving water and a dropoff..
I can’t wait to get back down there and give it another go. Definitely want to do some exploring as well.👍
dude, you were almost there, unless all the flats boats have destroyed everything just north of burnt store marina is a fantastic place to fish. many fishing shows through the decades have been filmed there.
Noooooooo! Man, I wish I’d have known…definitely next time - thanks for the info!
Cool to see you out catching something else and yes you definitely don't want to get done by a catfish...
As you seen in my video it's not fun at all
No, it not lol! Got barely poked twice and it burned, but thankfully wasn’t too bad.
There are large snook and tarpon in those canals especially nw cape
I think that’s what I saw thrashing about along the waters edge. They looked like they were chasing baitfish.
I’m currently down here on vaca. Have gone through about 50ish live and frozen shrimp. On the SW 1st canal. Same rig as you. Absolutely nothing for the past 3 days. All different times probably for a combined 8 hours… I have no clue what the heck is going on
I’m not familiar enough with the area to tell you what it could be, but if you’re in a salt water canal the levels have been low with the tide in the morning and evening. The freshwater canals are even lower and I don’t know if you’d get anything on the shrimp.
The bites came for me came best between 5am-9am and was shut down again until 7pm-9pm. Night fishing produced nothing for me as did daytime.
I’m really shocked you aren’t getting anything on the live shrimp. I was told I’d do okay on the frozen, which I caught about a dozen, but live was suggested for better bites. I never got the live because the dead ones worked fine. I got those at Walmart for about $3.
The crabs were definitely an issue tho. When I wasn’t casting the shrimp off those small hooks, the crab were stealing them.
@@live2fishofficial thanks for the quick response! Yes I’ve really only been fishing between 9-5 so I will definitely try earlier. Thanks for the advice!
No problem! Best of luck to you, I’m missing that place so much…love it down there!
I think there’s a comment on this vid from Jupiter Kayak Fishing. They might be able to help as well since they are familiar with the area.
Hadir tengah malam bosku
Bread works wonders !!!
I was going to try that and cheese, appreciate the tip for our next stay!
Great vid, next time give us a call and we will put you on some amazing fish.
I wish I’d have known, would have loved to!
I used frozen squid bait and caught 3 fish in 5 minutes. Good fishing
Man, I wish I’d have used that!
@@live2fishofficial I’m also living in Mich, south, near Wyandotte. I now have a house down there and I rent a boat right off the river in the Bimini. I found that stuff in the fridge of the rental. It was instant fish. I’d definitely use it again. Then again, those catfish will eat just about anything. .
@@Golfing422 they are a hoot tho, aren’t they? I’m here in New Baltimore - glad to see another Michigander!
I am in Florida know down below Tampa and I use bread it I can get 20 fish in 1 hour I am going to try corn
Sweet!
@@live2fishofficial so I tried corn and it works good because it dose not fall off your hook it is my new favorite bate
@@TheArmyguy_yt thanks for the tip! Definitely going to have to try that for sure. Cheaper than shrimp too!
I live right by you. You have to fish the beach in Estero on a incoming tide.
I was only down there on vacation, I’m from MI. I WISH I lived down there, love it!
@@live2fishofficial wow I wish I would have known I could have put you on the bite
@@sonsofthunder007 thanks, I appreciate that. I’ll definitely let you know when I’m back down there. Appreciate it!

Clarkston MI here... Boat on LSC. With a Place/Boat on the Caloosahatchee River. What Canal were you on? Looks like a SE or SW canal?
Welcome! We were off of SE 19th Ave
Spook or 3" paddletail... nice vid!
I did throw the paddle tail for a bit, but didn’t get hit on it. I’m sure on the main river I’d have gotten something. Thanks for checking it out!👊💥🎣
@@live2fishofficial yeah the canals are hit or miss depending ... I fish them a little bit in port Charlotte when staying with family
Get some rest and relaxation buddy!
We did - already home lol
Didn't you just get home!? 😅
Yes, unfortunately…
@@live2fishofficial you edited and cranked that out at phenomenal speeds 🤣 it would've taken me 4 days atleast to produce this video.
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors hahahaha! Thanks! Made the most of that plane ride lol
don't forget those waters have things that can make your day BAD
I was warned about that too, but didn’t see anything but the whiskers….
Using the phrase whisker made me dislike and exit this video.
Thank you for your feedback though. You may need to talk to someone if that is what upsets you. Best of luck to you!
