The Indiana Fever just won a BIG TIME GAME against the Phoenix Mercury. Although they almost gave up a 30 point lead, their accomplishments early should not go unnoticed. How did Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell do it? The Indiana Fever played fast!

Caitlin Clark put up her 4th game with 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5 assists this season, a new WNBA rookie record. She passes Diana Taurasi (3, 2004).
She’s the best now. I would vote her MVP because of all the things she brings to the game. It’s so fun watching her play.

I'm a huge CC fan, but no. She is definitely the 2nd best player in the league right now. A'ja is the only player better, but she has also had a 6 year head start on CC. Next year if CC starts the season playing how she's playing right now, she will be #1. But #2 as a rookie ain't too bad. Matter of fact it's phenomenal

Mitch hit every big shot that stalled the Mercury momentum, where is Temi? Dontas not a fan,Temi is an active mobile big that this team needs and I think early in the year Temi worked well on the high pick and roll with Clark ,at times Boston on the high pick and roll is open but she is too far from the hoop to be in her comfort zone, Temi wasn't I would like to see Temi get some Smith minutes
One of my favorite parts of the game was in the post game interview CC focused on giving kudos to her team mates, especially KM and LH for their part in the win. KM was 'en fuego', and LH was like a Tasmanian devil guarding K Copper.
I haven't seen Mitchell play that fast AND that under control all season. She was cutting and passing. Only 1 bad shot. I even saw her set a screen or 2. Total team player last night.
I wonder how much she was influenced by her all-star experience.
She may have been inspired by being an all star. The best way to get someone to do better than ever is to give them recognition and the All-Star weekend did that. She deserved it.
Seven of the Fever's 12 players are first round draft picks. This is a stacked team and Kelsey and the rest of the team are reaching their full protentional now because of Caitlin's playmaking.

Going to be tough first round matchup will likely player 2nd best team, however the way I see it they’re 2 teams to avoid LIBERTY, ACES, Those teams are stacked. I hope they can pull off the upset. They are fun to watch!

She didn't go 8/21 - she shot 50%.
Ten dimes, but she didn't get 7 TOs. Only 5. That's a 2 - 1 TO ratio. Not great, but not terrible either.
She's starting to mature and play with more and more efficiency.
29 and 10 and she only took 16 shots. 9-10 from the line, so she's getting into the paint and forcing the other team to foul her.
If I was the rest of the league - I'd be getting nervous
She already is the MVP. Aja Wilson is a terrific scorer and blocker but she cannot control the game or make her teammates so much better. Caitlin is already the most valuable player on any team because of how she controls everything in the game when on the court. When she is not on the court, it is hard to watch the Fever (they look like the USA Olympic team playing France)!

Regarding losing the big lead, you have to give some credit to the Mercury coach who made some great adjustments and the Fever did not have an answer. However, the better team won and thankfully that great run in the first quarter really kept them in the game.
Fever going 3-0 against the Mercury is great. They are a veteran team and have a winning record this season look what they did to the Sky yesterday. They dominated. It shows the strength of this Fever team even though they obviously still have their weaknesses. Can they beat the Sun in the playoffs or final? Maybe not but I’d love to see them try.
Sides is the one without the answer. The team, Caitlin mainly, always bails her out when they're down. She was a damn good cheer leader though
Plus the Mercury couldn’t buy a bucket in that first half. With some shots finally dropping for them it made sense that they closed the gap. Plus some sloppy plays from Indiana. Overall tho, this feels like a big step in the right direction for the Fever.

You're absolutely right about her switching to passing mode at times, she can score almost anytime she wants to but there are times that she wouldn't shoot. That 1st quarter was her on attack mode.
She CC can score 40 points if she shoots 22 x 3 points attempts@ 40% plus her 2 points drive while minimizing her assist to 10 times

Sides thank you so much for not letting this game get out of hand, blowouts are so boring, CC was on pace to get a 40-20 triple, this sorta of thing would confuse the fans and media when it comes to ROTY & MVP so thank you for keeping it simple. your a genius for bringing on dontus to give wheeler hand when you need to kill the momentum, taking AB and dontus to all you can eat buffet before the game and smoking a blunt with girls at halftime were nice touches.

For me, the MVP is the player who has the greatest effect on a team's winning record. Take a player away from a team, and the loss of which player would have the greatest negative effect on the team's success. The MVP may not necessarily be the absolute best player. If their teams lost Aja Wilson, Angel Reese, or Caitlin Clark, which team would suffer the most?Take away Aja Wilson, Angel Reese, and Caitlin Clark from their respective teams, and I think that the Fever would would be the most negatively impacted without CC. They would never be in 7th place the way they are now. The loss of Angel would have very little impact. In 2023, they were in 8th place. In 2024, they are still in 8th place. The loss of Aja Wilson would have some negative on her team, but the team is strong enough to compensate. Foot me, that makes CC the most valuable, but not necessarily the best player over Aja.

Nonetheless,last night was a big win for the Fevers’ team work and confidence. However, it’s clear they need bench depth. That said, Saxon, Wheeler, Berger, Dantas, Smith and Wallace are all trade bait for but not limited to Gabby Williams and Satou Sabally. Mr. Carter do a video as if Dunn and Sides are listening on your player recommendations to sign in free agency that would strengthen the Fevers.

I've seen it so many times with the Fever. They have a great lead, their midrange and perimeter shots go cold, they can't get a single offensive rebound, their opponent scores in transition. Opponent runs up a scoring streak... time and again.
As for scoring, I had wondered if C Clark was hitting the "rookie wall." Talk about timing. The Olympic Break gave C Clark time to recharge. I bet she was still shooting a zillion shots in training. But Clark had zip tonight at least on that one play ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Yes, a 30-point lead evaporated, but a win is a win no matter how ugly. Fever fans should hope the players learn from this. One lesson is clear: their strength is fast-paced games. And teamwork will get better shots.

I cannot stand when wheeler comes in and she handles the ball. If Clark is on the court with her, Clark still needs to be the PG. the offense comes to a grinding halt.

The Fever have two max contracts on players they need to release (Wheeler and someone else I cannot remember). So, they could give Kelsey Mitchell a max contract for a year or two while Boston and Caitlin are on minimums. If Caitlin is expected to stay in the league (with the money she is making for the Fever and the whole WNBA), the minimum salaries need to be raised big time (so, expect that there will be more money flowing to these players in the next year/new CBA).
She is already one of the best. As great as she already is, her game is getting better believe it or not. If the team can continue to overcome aweful coaching and keep winning games, she should be in the top 3 in the MVP race.

Kaitlyn Clark has humility she knows she's the best but she doesn't want to flaunt it she prefers that her teammates get as much respect as she does. In my opinion that is the most valuable player.
The Fever needs to talk to Kelsey Mitchell (or her agent) and find out if she is looking to leave the team for more money or because she is unhappy with her role/place on the team (no longer the star). If the former, free up salary and pay her. If the latter (meaning she is unwilling to come back next year regardless), trade her while she is hot and her value is high.

The 1st thing to build a good team is to become funding sound and never give up or drop your head when things aren’t going your way. 2nd beat all of the teams that you should beat. 3rd learn how to deal with adversity while playing better teams win or lose. 4th win some games against better teams. 5th have to confidence to know that you can beat any team anywhere.

When you pointed out KM cutting to make 2 on the first play reminded me of your past analysis of her standing around rather than cutting back door. Now she’s cutting. I wonder why the change. At 3:25 CC is such an assist threat that the Mercs, especially BG are hesitating while looking for CC to feed a team mate. Wake up sleepy heads...boom!
I think you are spot on about KM/CC syncing together and complementing each other's game. My concern is that KM will miss your earlier video, not re-up her contract, move on into obscurity because she misses being top dog, and not realize how good she is when working in tandem with CC.
Lastly, I hadn't thought about the source of CC's obvious hesitancy at times, foregoing shot opportunities, and over thinking the situation when she is attempting too much strategy. I think you might be right.

You are not old enough to have seen Pistol Pete Maravich play. But if you did, and if you believed that spirits can inhabit other bodies after they passed, you would recognize that Pistol Pete is playing in CC's body. Their moves are identical. Look at some vids of Pistol Pete to confirm that.

I’m glad you did a positive video. We all know there were issues with this game, but, look at the potential of this Fever team. No trades no free agents just this team. The best teams in the W are playing great but the are already at 90% of their potential. Think what the Fever would be if they played the first quarter of this game every quarter.
I know you have done vids on how special Hull is , for me the only special thing about her is how badly she continues to miss run ahead layups, but at least she did hit a couple timely 3's in last nights game.
Yeah, I think one of her first shots was one of those missed layups and I was shouting "Not again!" but she came through on defense and with the 3 when needed.
The Fever might need to look into trading Mitchell before she goes into free agency. The way Mitchell was talking, it’s sounding like the Fever aren’t going to offer Mitchell a number to keep her on the Fever. When Mitchell goes into free agency and if she decides to go to another team, the Fever won’t get anything in return for Mitchell. At least if they trade Mitchell they are more likely to get back a piece that is comparable to Mitchell. Mitchell is going to be hard shoes to fill especially if they don’t have the money to lure someone else to the team. I wouldn’t depend on the upcoming draft to try to find a replacement for Mitchell. I would shop her and see what I can get for her.
