Apparently having a MLB team is not PRECIOUS in Oakland. A non-profit led by Nahas built the Coliseum in the early 1960s and GAVE it to the county and city after paying off its mortgage. Neither have spend a cent maintaining or sustaining it. The landlord collected the teams rent and allowed the teams to make repairs to keep their business functional. They did build Mount Davis, a third of a new stadium, to LAND the return of the Raiders, but failed to refurbish the Coliseum grandstand. And you wonder why both teams LEFT? Real Estate 101 kids, if a landlord wants their tenants to sign a new lease, to keep that rent flowing into the coffers, offer incentives like refurbishing and upgrading the property, if necessary a new stadium. Both teams would still be in Oakland if Oakland had built a new stadium. This isn't rocket science...
All the more reasons as to why the Howard Terminal Ballpark should have been in the deck of cards from the get go, because just imagine what the options would have been if they had the stadium built by next season. There would not have been the dumb idea of moving to Vegas, or even Sacramento, especially when it gets closer to the extremely hot summer months during the season. Oh well, hopefully they've learned their lesson from this mess that they are currently in, if they are smart enough to realize it.
Not her fault! It was the GREED of MLB and the owner. Figures if the Raiders can do it, so can we?! Problem…, Vegas is a Dodgers town. Building a stadium in Vegas would be a complete waste and it would only work for offsite purposes.. Just saying..
@@mrstonejack23 the people of Las Vegas cannot go to a Dodgers game without a 6 hour trip. Las Vegas is excited to welcome the Athletics and I expect them to be very successful!!
@@mrstonejack23look Oakland was NEVER EVER getting a free private funded ballpark. All cities have to put in their share. For you to think Oakland is entitled of a charity from MLB?😂 this is why you lost all 4 teams. But u voted for this. John Fisher is right
The team was sold to John Fisher to get them out of Oakland. They could have sold to Andy Dolich and his group but were denied by Bud Selig. Could have sold to Joe Lacob but was denied by MLB. Could have sold to the Reggie Jackson group that offered 25 million more they were denied by MLB. The mistake these three groups made is that they told MLB that they were committed to Oakland, MLB didn't want to hear that.
Hey casey 🤔. Oakland has million dollar homes...that aint fair. Why not it be 100k? But u expect John Fisher to pay for everything? For such a fickle fan base. John Fisher...even Joe Lacob would not do that. Get rid of Sheng Tao ...get a man ..maybe even a republican who can make friends with billionares and get jobs done
The Sacramento Kings played a last game in Sacramento twice.

Manfred has fully embraced gambling. He has ruined the MLB game

John Fisher=Rachel Phelps!!!
That's insulting.
To Rachel Phelps.
More like John Fisher = Dean Spanos.
I doubt it very seriously.
So what are the odds????? Ooops, forget I asked!!!
The pioneer league will never compete with the MLB. The oakland 68s think they have the saudis as investors

MLB will never return to Oakland after September 26th thanks to mayor Thao.
Oh please. This saga started way before Sheng Thao became Oakland mayor.
