I’ve been a fan since’86 and live on the other side of the country in Alabama and still root and watch every game I can. It’s the owners fault not the fans
I’ve been an A’s fan since 1968. It truly is like a death in the family. 😢So many fond memories throughout the decades. I honestly don’t feel the love of the game I once had.
Tigers fan here, and I can only imagine how As fans in Oakland must be feeling right now. It may be that they have to get out of Oakland, but there's no reason they couldn't go to another nearby city in Alameda or Contra Costa Counties and keep the Oakland name. Heck, they could even move into Oracle Park with the Giants if they have to. They can leave the city without leaving the market, just like the Warriors did a few years ago. And there's still a chance the relocation could be defeated if the Schools Over Stadiums campaign succeeds in Nevada. Either way, it's clear John Fisher has no idea how he's going to make a relocation to Las Vegas work, and the best case scenario would be that he sells the team and then lets the chips fall where they may.
Fisher: “today is an incredibly difficult day for Oakland A’s fans . . . . It’s a great day for Las Vegas”. So tone deaf to what he’s put so many real fans through. Embarrassing that MLB is backing this ownership and relocation charade 😢
In truth, Oakland got caught up in MLB owners wanting in on gambling and betting. Not about Oakland vs Las Vegas. It's about potential gambling revenue for the owners.
well after reading some articles on the relocation committee and their concerns, it's not as cut and dried as you think. . they added a "Flip" caveat in that will tax Fisher heavily if he tries to sell the team in the next ten seasons. . plus the financing isn't a done deal yet as Fisher is going to have to pony up some real cash to build this thing. . the A's are saying they'll have to get 90% occupancy to pull the deal off. . that's highly unlikely coming from an owner who literally put ZERO money into his franchise.. plus his media revenue is going to be tiny compared to what he's getting in the Bay Area..it's going to be an uphill climb to move. .
I’m starting to think Fisher will sell because the cost is too much to move there! I think his plan was move there and sell right away but the flip tax changes things
Although I don't think the A's should leave, I don't think that documentary shows anything new - what was contained in that documentary shown is true for every team in major league baseball - I don't think it speaks specifically to the total support in Oakland (I'm not sure how big that is, or what that is, I'm in Boston) because every team's fanbase could produce footage exactly like was shown and say 'hey we have great fans.'
The baseball team have a nicer stadium then you guys do it doesn’t matter on the city or anything like that. There’s a page on the stadium and they have a nicer stadium then they do in Oakland.
@@gregusjay People and several other businesses are leaving the area as well. The city can't get a new stadium deal done. The team can't sell tickets. The whole area is seriously dangerous and will probably get worse based on the way the country is going. I wouldn't want to leave the stadium at 10pm with my family.. If you are a little kid then I apologize.
@@HJ-jy7fw I've been going to the Oakland Coliseum since 1967 when I was a real small kid to watch the Raiders, then the A's in 1968. Raider games can be a ruckus If you're there as a fan of a different team granted. But in all my years going I've never had or saw serious crime there. It's not in the heart of Oakland it's on the cusp next to San Leandro. Most of the fans are from other parts of the bay. The parking lot is blocked off and secure so are the exits to Bart. There are shady parts of Oakland nearby ..but theres no reason to venture there. The 880 freeway has 2 exits to easily get on or off. It's a real convenient place to get to. It sounds like you've never been there . Or maybe you have to drive in from the east bay hills and don't use the highway?! Idk it's been secure with no problems

I don't buy any of what Fisher is saying. This is coming from a Mets fan - Oakland, you were cheated and lied to. Fisher must be destroyed!

Absolutely
I think MLB approved it to get Fisher out of Oakland not baseball. If he doesn’t to sell or stay, what can you do?
thanks Wayne

Expand to Vegas don’t move A’s
@darylwille4878 Obviously, they need to take care of poor performing franchises before expansion. Sorry
@@gregusjay the uphill climb is California & Oakland. Lol

That stadium is always empty and has been for over a decade.
Now the fans can't stand to lose the team?
