OMG YOU’RE A GENIUS!!! You’ll go down in history as the woman who tied a knot! Seriously though, THANK YOU for this!! Making a huge blanket with lots of joins in color and the regular old knot just wasn’t working for me. I’m so grateful you made this video!! 🙏🏼
I’ve just come across this video 2 years after it being posted. I’m crocheting a queen size blanket with velvet yarn and it’s been a nightmare to join in the new ball of yarn. Up to ball 6 with really no success! This technique is amazing. Thank you so much. You are very very clever!! Onward with the next 11 balls.
Thanks for sharing this technique. With my yarn - Bernat Velvet - the core threads keep breaking off, no matter how gingerly I pull off the fluff. The yarn is probably 3 or 4 years old. I suppose the threads could have deteriorated. Since I'm making a scarf for myself, I'm going to just tie a knot. I only need one.
I have Bernat blanket yarn and when I tried to follow the directions in this video, it didn't work for mine either. The core threads seemed really stretchy and not at all stable. The core threads just kept on pulling through the Bernat yarn. 😢
I started doing this because I didn't like burning or tying a knot. So I felt sewing was easier then the 2 other options. And does not matter color of thread because you can't see it. Glad to see not the only who had the same idea. ❤
Omgsh you are the best!!! I have been trying to figure out how to join my yarn while making a blanket and I could never figure it out. And then Thank God I found you today!!! You are a true answered prayer… I know that may sound silly… and answered prayer on how to join yarn with out the big not in the middle of blankets… but I am so serious! You are such a blessing to me!!! Thank you so much!!! God Bless you abundantly!!!! Please share more of your secrets 🤗💕😊
Thank you! That is a great idea of joining Chenille yarn together! I secure tie and hide my Chenille yarn with tooth floss or I also use the same color thread I’m crocheting with to sew it to secure and hide it too.
Thank you so much! I'm working with velvet yarn and this method works great! Thank you for sharing. So happy to have found your video. Sincerely, Elisabeth
You are a life saver……..I just had to frog a row of a #6 Super Bulky Yarn and some of the fluffy yarn was pulled off and left a bare gap…..so I cut out the damaged section and used your technique to rejoin the yarn…..it took me two tries to get the threads tied closely but I was finally successful!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 ty for this helpful video!! I was in the middle of a one color project……
I was struggling bad with my Chenille yarn for my blanket, and now I know how to tie it off without shedding the chenille (for next time, since I really don't wanna frog a whole blanket lol) I will most likely buy chunky chenille yarn and try another blanket!
I just recently started using chenille yarn and just love the feel of it. But joining the yarn was a problem for me. This tutorial made all the difference in a seamless joining! Thank you!!!!!!!
I'm having to fix a blanket because my yarn joins are unraveling.🤦♀ Glad I just made one blanket! Gonna fix this one and do my joins this way from now on. Thanks!
looks good. Have you thought about adding a "double overhand knot" for every other of the simple overhand knots? In Girls Scouts we learned to take a square knot and add an extra twist for one of the "sides". This was used only when the two line/ropes were thin or slippery. It gave a bit of extra grab without bulk. A very secure solution for nylon rope (a common material in camping equipment).
Thank you so much!! I was able to do this method with the bernat yarn but the big twist was made too well so I couldn't get the yarn off I cut down with scissors and was able to do it 😊
Yeah - when I made this video - most chenille yarns were made with the core threads. In the last couple of years, they've developed other methods that don't work quite as well. I'm glad you were able to make it work.
Much better method and I feel would be secure. Also could put a lil Frey check on the strong before tying them not on the chenille just on the string just put some on your finger and run it down the strings before tying. Great video thank u
It would love to have it with different colour being attached. Great Idea tho’ ❤ Your Super . I knitting for more years than I can remember & never saw this before ! Do you do anymore Videos than what’s on your site? Would dearly love to see more ideas. Well Done ..
Hi there, I'm a knitter, but mostly an indie dyer. I post weekly on Instagram "tools of the trade Tuesdays" - I'm thinking about adding them here to UA-cam. I haven't done it yet though. Too many other things to do. Thanks for the complement.
Omg!!thank you for this ,first time crocheting this kinda yarn so I try to tie it just like you said it didn’t look right ,so then I try to use glue😂🤦🏻♀️I freaking glue my fingers😂..I mean I use super glue😮😂😭
Anyone trying with Bernat yarn, start plucking the fibers from at least one inch away from the end. Work your way out to the length you want the string, then down to the ends (or just before, then snip so you don't unravel the string).
Unfortunately this is not working for my chenille yarn (Bernat Blanket). I can remove very little chenille, so I can't get to the core threads. Really disappointed because I'll have to knot or sew the ends together.
Hi - I guess you could try a sample. It should have a core yarn and thus it should work. Try it on a few inches and then pull on the ends to see if it holds.

Thank you for this. You saved my project and saved me lots of stress. This is the only connection I found that not only worked but looks seamless!

I was about to give up
3 years late but this helped so much! I'm making a tree skirt with this yarn and you're the only one I found with a simple, seamless solution.
BRILLIANT. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. worked perfectly the first time. Thank you for this video!!!

Thank you! I was winding a skein today and found 2 knots in the first 5 feet. I thought, what a waste of money...Thank you for saving my budget!

Thank you - looking at a big box of yarn and dreading joining but you made it very doable.
Wow, wow, WOW!! Thank you for walking us through that! I love the seamless look; I can't wait to do it on a cowl I'm finishing. You're a gem!
Love the way you joining yarn. This is the best and safe way to do it ❤❤❤

Pretty Darn rhymes with yarn.
Thank you this helped me!
This is the perfect video, I was looking for something that didn't include a knot and this is perfect! Thank you for sharing!
I loved this. I am new to crochet 🧶 and was using bulky yarn and couldnt find a way to join to ends. Thank you for this
Thank you! That is a great idea of joining Chenille yarn together! I secure tie and hide my Chenille yarn with tooth floss or I also use the same color thread I’m crocheting with to sew it to secure and hide it too.
The tooth floss sounds like another great idea!

Thank you so much 😊. I truly appreciate you posting this for us all! Have a beautiful day 🤗
Worked a treat .... so much better than just using a knot .... Thanks.

Love this….so simple & so much better than just knotting the full yarn! Thank you! 🤗
This is awesome. I am definitely going to give this a try. Thank you😊
I just recently started using chenille yarn and just love the feel of it. But joining the yarn was a problem for me. This tutorial made all the difference in a seamless joining! Thank you!!!!!!!
Thanks -- this will work perfectly I'm sure. A secure way to join this type of yarn without the ugly knot.
Thank you so much for this video. It’s exactly what I wanted ❤
Thanks so much for this tutorial! This helped me so much on my own velvet yarn project!
Just tried joining the chenille WOW 👌 looks amazing, thank you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was nervous about using this yarn because of the joining. Now I'm ready to go 😂
You saved my scarf! Thank you.
thats really creative thank you! It might be a little bit more time consuming but I find the end result is looking much better!
I'm having to fix a blanket because my yarn joins are unraveling.🤦♀ Glad I just made one blanket! Gonna fix this one and do my joins this way from now on. Thanks!

Extremely helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for this tip. Do you have a tip on how to join velvet yarn?
That’s what this video is
It your yarn is fluffy and has a core - this should work.
Thank you. This really helped me
Super helpful! Thank you!!

Anyone trying with Bernat yarn, start plucking the fibers from at least one inch away from the end. Work your way out to the length you want the string, then down to the ends (or just before, then snip so you don't unravel the string).
With finer chenille yarn (4), will a double knot hold as not enough fluff to strip I discovered
How do you stop the fluff from coming off when not joining?
thank you so much. this is alot of help
Magic! Thank you!
Genius!!!! Thanks!
THANK YOU PURL
thank you so much
this was so useful!!! thank you so much
thank you!!!
amazing
Unfortunately, this didn't work on Bernat Blanket yarn. 😢
Unfortunately this is not working for my chenille yarn (Bernat Blanket). I can remove very little chenille, so I can't get to the core threads. Really disappointed because I'll have to knot or sew the ends together.
Anyone know if this works on Bernat Blanket BIG from Michael’s??
Hi - I guess you could try a sample. It should have a core yarn and thus it should work. Try it on a few inches and then pull on the ends to see if it holds.
Has any one sewed the ends to each other??
genius
thanks this was very helpful
Love this thank you!
