- Me And Your Mama is likely Childish Gambino's most popular song at this point (at least in his top 3). And yet, it seems that EVERYONE is missing the point of this song - the emotional facade, the vulnerability of desire, the difficulty of discerning true love.
Throughout this video I talk about a sensitive topic, something that I think matters. I appreciate Gambino for being artistic about this, as opposed to how lust is usually treated in hip hop... what a beautiful song.

I am a Christian and student and I made this channel when I was in high school. I started this channel because I love talking about music (specifically hip hop) and given that the genre seems to be going downhill, I want to be part of the community that preserves the expectation of great music and dissecting what makes a beautiful record. well, i think that your analysis of the 1st and 2nd parts are accurate, but perssonaly, i think that part 3 is not a void, it starts as a relief, a calmary after the storm, a moment to breath and calm down, it starts good, and after a bit of time gets numb, not unconfortable, but just numb.

I see the beginning as a date. The middle is them banging climaxing and screaming as the music gets aggressive and also his voice getting more distorted showing how he’s loosing sight of their love. The end is the aftercare the morning after, the release it’s more relaxed hence the highest point right before the end of pt 2.

Ok just finished the video so yeah for me I was stuck thinking that what I wanted is what I felt in the past that my lust came from my love and from my hurt but the truth is it never did it was a facade of want I wanted to feel something it didn't matter that it was them atleast not anymore it mattered that I felt something that I felt anything didn't matter to me if they were hurt after but that was a past mistake
