@joe sila R8, as well as the R12 were fairly reliable cars by the standards of their time. As for Dacia, when they were under the license contract with Renault they had to respect certain quality standards. But then after '78 when the contract with Renault ended, the reliability went down drastically. The Dacia's built in the '80's were of an much lower built quality than the ones made in the '70's.
It had to start somewhere. Romania was a backward agrarian country for centuries and they set the first step toward modernization and industrialization. The first Japanese and Korean cars were also "ugly, primitive and unreliable". So were the very first American cars. Many (capitalist) countries still don't manufacture any vehicles.
There was an auto industry before the war in Romania and a Ford factory in Bucharest if I remember well The backward agrarian part was obviously the rural part of the country that represented a larger percentage compared to some (meaning not all) neighboring countries. It was the lower level of urbanization that lead to that perception that holds some truth to it.
We shall not confuse Japanese cars with the Korean ones. Most Korean cars were initially licenses from some European manufacturers while in Japan they actually designed their own cars. I do agree that many Japanese cars have an ugly design and this is true even today.
You need to rid yourself of communist propaganda. Designating a country as "capitalist" is a communist thing, only they were splitting the world into "capitalist" and "socialist". The correct differentiation would be into a vast majority of normal countries with a free market economy, and a number of countries with a Moscow-inspired, closed, state-planned non-economy. Also, Romania wasn't such a backward, agrarian country at the time when it fell under the communist dictatorship. Industry in Romania wasn't started by communists. We had plenty of it before, and it was destroyed by communists through nationalization, confiscation, or in some cases dismantling and transporting it into the Soviet Union. Get your facts straight.
The Dacia was identical to the Renault R8, built under license by Renault.
és mennyire volt megbízjható ?thanx

Looks like a simca 1000
It was based on the Renault 8.
Renault 8
@Moldova🇲🇩 yes i know but it looks a little like simca 1000
Avea 2 motoare, greu de crezut dar daca stirea este CNN trebuie crezuta
Looks the same as the old Renault 8.
That's because it is one.
LOCUIESC ÎN TURCIA, DAR ACEASTĂ MAȘINĂ ESTE PREA LUXOASĂ PENTRU NOI TURCII ÎN ACEST MOMENT, NU PUTEM GĂSI! :((((
Vă doriţi pentru colecţie această maşină?
Nu pentru colecție, colecția este pentru oameni bogați, dar pentru uz zilnic, chiar mi-ar plăcea omule ! Chiar ar fi tare!!!!
Το ομορφότερο Dacia ever!
It looks as if it is Simca's copy
It's a licensed-built Renault 8. Ask Renault if they copied Simca, not us.
