Adam question . Once you start on this regime with cleaning and light oiling of bearings do you need to clean and oil them right after use so they don’t seize up? I followed the same regime and raced on a track that was wet when we started. I didn’t get to cleaning the buggy until the next day and some of the wheel bearings had siezed. I managed to free them up as this was only one day but now I’m wondering if I used enough oil on them. Any ideas? Thank Sean NZ
Yes, it's not a bad idea to oil the bearings and pretty much any of the moving parts. After run oil is really important to have them last a long time especially if it's humid.
Hi Adam, I just purchased one of your Jammin .21 on ebay for my Tmaxx 3.3, and was wondering since it was tuned by you if you could tell me what's the best plug and fuel used please bro. I am so excited to see what it will do. Any help would be so highly appreciated sir. Thank you
Can you give me a link to that bearing oil. Also can you give me a link to good Tmaxx bearings. I'm about to buy one of your .21 JPX Jammin engine for the Maxx so want it perfect
@@AdamDrake shake the bearing in zippo liquid with a small glass bottle, then u will see all the dirts come out. We also apllied it in mini tamiya 4x4 bearing..see the differences.
Wow I was blown away at the end when you spun the wheels. They just keep spinning and spinning for ever. Talk about perfect!
:)
Agreed
Great tips. Good maintenance and race prep as always from Adam Drake....thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Thanks Adam! Great videos for many years. Almost making me want to switch to Mugen because you provide so much great information. 😉
Very cool, let me know if you have any questions.
The end is terrific ! 😮
Would 0W-20 be good for rubber seal bearings instead of the tri-flo?
The Legend! I'll be binge watching.
Thank you!
Heck yeah. I like doing this. Nice trick on the jewelry cleaner agitator!

Thanks for sharing, incredibly helpful.
My pleasure!
do you use NMB's for every bearing in the car or just the wheel bearings? and do you clean and relube a brand new set?
All the 8x16x5's and 6x13x5's are NMB bearings. Not when they are new.
Do you do this to all the bearings on the machine or just the wheel bearings? Thanks in advance and great videos man!!
I do it to all the bearings.
Hey Adam, I see almot all NMB bearings i found are metal shielded. Does the metal shielded bearing can hold up outdoor dusty track environment?
Yes, they still work great for outdoor racing and they're pretty easy to clean.
That tiny US cleaner in awesome!
I love it!
Thanks for the video! It helps a lot!
My pleasure!
👍👍wow they really roll. Great video!
Thank you!
So you just use metal shielded bearings ? Do you use rubber sealed anywhere on the car ?
The inner hub bearings use a rubber seal, but the rest of the bearings I use have a metal shield.
Between a metal shield or rubber, which of the two do you think have a better seal against dirt.? What are the pros and cons of rubber and metal ?
Metal shielded = less friction
Rubber shielded = better sealing
A rubber seal will seal better, but have more drag.

Hey Adam, hope all is good with you. Can you get NMB bearings for other brands? God Bless Ya Dave
The 8x16x5 and 5x10x4 NMB bearings will work with most 1/8th brands of vehicles.
Adam... where did you get that trick agitating box?

full ceramic bearings cant be used?
You can
top !
What about bearing grease to thick?
Yes, I prefer the light oil.
Can you use gun oil on the bearings
I haven't tried that myself.
Basically these bearings do not have grease inside right?
Yeah, no grease. The grease would hold dust. Degreaser and brake cleaner would remove grease if it HAD any.
kruz racing169 so can I do this with rubber shield bearings? Remove the grease and then oil it..😁
@@HL-OOI , yes you can. I know that most remove the rubber covers if using brake cleaner.
kruz racing169 thx bro..👍🏻
Yes, just a light oil.
Put the bearing in zippo oil. The shake them in a small glass bottle..try it!
Thanks! Like zippoo lighter fluid or is there a special oil?
Zippo lighter liquid thats it!..
Very interesting.

@6:30 wow...

Very nice.
