    Interesting…I’ve always set my diffs the same way, from buggy to truggy…never had any issues with diffs skipping in truck..but this is good to know. Makes a lot of sense.

    I notice today that the bigger 46 tooth rubbed on the bottom of the chassis so I used a grinding wheel to allow for more clearance. I’m using the slightly worn gear so it’s not perfect but put in a new pinion. I may try 44 tooth I have for my buggy

    Hey ad first off thanks! For continuing to stay conected as far as consistency on your vids your the man! Great job! 2nd whats with the fins or lips that are on the rear hub carriers with to 2 wholes what are they for can you explain? Thanks nitro brother for life!

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  5 років тому

      My pleasure! The fins on the rear hub are to secure hubs weights or wheel scrapers for wet conditions.

    i have a loud click on hard brake into a corner om my 8te - thought maybe it was my driveshaft but now think it was probably due to having an incorrectly shimmed diff?

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  5 років тому +1

      Yes, that for sure sounds like the ring and pinion needs to be shimmed tighter.

      Check for a wore out bearing - that could be it as well. Make sure there isn't too much "wobble" in the races.

    Great vids Adam. They are really putting everything into perspective with a nitro kit. I've got 1 high spot on buggy. It's not a lot but it's there- will this break in over time? I don't want to start reshimming just to fix 1 high spot and throw the rest of the mesh off. The rest of the mesh is perfect.

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  5 років тому

      Yes, that's pretty common and it will smooth out after a few runs. Thanks!

      @@AdamDrake I went back and took a look again. I thought it was a tight spot but it was actually a loose spot! It's not too bad hopefully it doesn't get worse.

      1 more thing- if you had only 1 pair of lightened cvds' would you run them in the front or rear? So 1 pair of lightened cvds and 1 pair of factory cvds, which would you run in front and rear? Thanks

    Hi Adam. On one of the shocks, the shock standoff came off exposing the screw. Is it ok to run the car without the shock standoff

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  5 років тому

      No, you'll need to have a shock standoff or you'll damage the shock caps and chock bushing.
