I love that you guys shine a light on the dark corners of the exotic market.
Rob has been in the game for a minute or two. I love hearing his stories!
I like that Rob has embraced the Mr Spaghetti nickname. It says a lot about his character.
Character or not it's stuck and there's nothing he can do about it. Besides I don't ever remembering him referring to him self as a spaghetti man.
@@bravobrk Hes made videos in which he makes easteregg references to it.. for example one time he said he didnt want to elaborate on a topic because it would give away his secret meatball recipe
God that was a bunch of annoying kids reiterating the same lame comments over and over
Where did it even come from? It's stupid
@@taylormullis4942 yea later on when it was kids who had zero humor.. the ogs had some really good original ones early on that would actually have me laughing irl
Not even 4 minutes in, and you mentioned ARBITRAGE!!! 🤣
Love it!!! Thank you Rob!
Rob need an A to Z kids book. “A is for Arbitrage” “ R is for Rental Fraud” “T is for Theft by Conversion”
I knew Rob F was going to be the guest on this topic for sure.Hands down the expert.
Love it when anyone with experience talks about the financial side. Car auctions are also another slice of the auto scene that are due for a reset.
Mr spaghetti tells us about contraband pasta dishes
The spaghetti things wasn't funny ten years ago and it hasn't got any better with age.
@@ruk2023-- it still blows my mind this unfunny joke has been drug out so long lol
Lmao I don't care what these other dudes say this is hilarious and well done.
Simple things amuse simple minds.
Spaghetti jokes never get old
I don’t miss this industry
This is why VinWiki is a quality UA-cam channel; informative and entertaining. Thank you for sharing all sides of the market for us enthusiasts.
And a big "Thank you" to Rob for not butchering up his commentary with a bunch of "amazing" and "literally".
After watching Rob and Ed talk about this stuff for years, it really seems like the exotic car rental business is one of the worst businesses to try and get into nowadays in terms of risk and profitability. I'm a small business owner myself and I can't imagine having to put up with some of this stuff from my customers.
Part of my wonders if Rob purposely rents to a few major red flags per year just because the UA-cam story about it will profit over the loss.
The exceptionally and obliviously bad customers will produce great content. If it was all normal people there’s nothing interesting.
@@johnmaurer3097 No way he would do that when his cars are crashed he loses money pretty much every time
@@bomboyagegaming Totally agree with that. No one wants wrecks.
@@johnmaurer3097 If you really think that is his way of marketing, then he deserve a big FAIL!
If all small businesses followed the rules to a T, there would be no large businesses.
Thanks Rob, for explaining the background of another "If it looks too good to be true..." scenario.
I can't say enough great things about Rob, always entertaining and a sharp wit is a great combination
One of my favorite Rob stories, besides the street racing one, was Rob being asked for a huge loan....to start his own non-competing biz, but Rob as partner. The kid had an idea no one would crash his cars, beat on it, or rent it for a party....sit or stand on it for Insta pics. Rob's response, besides a giant Lol......My meatballs aren't free kid, you're gonna need to find your own meatball chef
I was at a rental drive. Wow I can’t believe the abuse the cars took!!
We had a blast! Man those cars are tuff! NSX, Porsche, lambo
Got my respect!!
huston is one of the few people to have a successful exotic rental car company well he says it doesnt make good money but it runs so mad props to him for real
Always read the insurance information on a rental, pay for the extra insurance and get in contact with your personal insurance agent to talk about rentals, it’s freaking eye opening!
If you rent a vehicle using a credit card, e.g., VISA and MasterCard, an insurance policy is automatically extended. It is not necessary to purchase additional insurance from the rental company. For details call the 800 number on your card to confirm.
@@avsystem3142 Credit Card companies exclude any coverage for higher priced vehicles and they pay the "rental company". As Rob mentioned, if you obtain it through a "broker" it might not be considered a rental company. They also do not cover claims of diminishment of value. Huge roll of the dice.
@@ToddCopeland I was commenting in regards to ordinary vehicle rentals not the convoluted and, in some cases as Rob notes, illegal schemes he described. Personally, I would never even use a so called "peer to peer" rental like Turo.
@@avsystem3142 Why not rent a car on Turo? or do you mean become a host on Turo?
@@3103frank As is usually the case, I meant what I said. I wouldn't rent a car from a private individual or stay in an AirBnB for the same reason.
There was a scam in that I recently came across in the UK where people where getting cars on finance with low mileage limits but using OBD2 devices to pause the ODO so they didn't go over their milage.
It's the rule in Eastern Europe. Wanted to buy a 5yo passenger van, started it up at the dealer in the cold, had 74kkm on the odometer.
My Volvo with the same PSA diesel but 500kkm sounded brand new next to it...
This is really good to know as somebody that wants to start renting out Turo cars.
I knew it was gonna be rob or crosta. These 2 have seen it all in that business
Great content! Rob is a great guest!
You guys had me at ILLEGAL secrets 😅
Always love seeing Mr. Spaghetti on VinWiki. Been watching him since his early UA-cam days
Wow, Mr Spaghetti is back so soon. More Spaghetti please!
You seem like a Fazoli’s kinda guy. This might be above your level.
Shorter Rob (Again): 'Don't cheat the insurance companies'. Hell yeah! It's fraud. Great segment.
Happy New Year Ed!!! 🎈🥳🎉
Happy New Year!
“We’re in for quite the correction.” ~These words are going to seem brilliant in about 2 years.
i love Rob. been watching his videos for a good while and have learned a lot
That's right. Only Rob knows how to rent supercars. No else except Rob.
Rob is such a good guy
Always good content/information!
I read the title and thought “this better be Rob” So glad it is !
I'm shocked that people with money etc would do anything sketchy!!
People with money don’t do anything THIS sketchy. The people doing this kind of stuff are people trying to make enough money to keep up with the payments.
ED please do something about the odometer rollback like rob said.
We are exploring options on how to track it
@VINwiki Long term, I would recommend harassing members of Congress.
Lobby for odometer tracking programs specifically for licensed rental agencies. Like how a taxi has a taxometer for ex.
Get insurance to back you, sell an obd2 cpu brick for rental cars so it's tracked by insurance. Have them offer buisiness discounts like USAA has safepilot app, progressive has snapshot ,etc.
If you use this I don't require payment. Idea is free.
However If you do , *use this screencap as shoutout lol.*
I first saw Rob on VHS with super speeders or something like that , times sure have changed !
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the mileage filters only effect the dash and the ecu will read the actual mileage?
Why would odometer roll back even be built into the code and function of a car like that?
No easy money simple as that!
Same in my industry (realestate) I’ve been developer for 20 yrs and oh boy do 98% of people think it’s such an easy money, most don’t last after first 6 month I’f that!
Wow that was an great explanation of high value rental cars. I wish it could have been longer!
Rob seems to have a lot of these stories. A L O T
Always love Bob Tagliatelli's storys
I'm telling u Ed this guy is a genius
This is a GOOD VIDEO!! Very educational to people who wanna rent cars and properties
VinWiki The 🐐
Halfway through the video, I got a Turo ad. Kinda funny.
Premium bruh
Cornelius would be proud. 🙌🏻
This story coming out of a NJ/New York based company does not suprise me.
Mr. Spaghetti teaches us about flawed pasta businesses.
How do you tell if a car has been rolled back when buying it then? Look for wear, but what if there isnt any? Like they fixed the seats, or other easily noticeable things?
Some scan tools can read actual miles on some vehicles.
2:57
Ed Bolians in the Closet?!?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
Watching Feretti over the years has really made me understand why exotic car rental (the right way) is so expensive. There’s a ton of costs associated with running an exotic car
People who operate this way are why market crashes are so pronounced. If someone is under water on a loan and their income stops, their assets will be repossessed ASAP. The banks selling these assets cheap causes the average value to go down, causing more people's loans to go under water and it just dominoes. It happens with cars, houses, etc. In 2008 US property prices plummeted while Canada's only fell a smaller percentage because Canada had stricter lending requirements so there was less of a problem with defaulting.
Rob Feretti is a legend in the car world iykyk
Rob this was gold, can you do video exposing Ethan Duran?
If WatchJRGo was not making enough money on Turo with his tailored fleet and hence is backing out, this tells you a lot!!!
Odometer freezing can be charged as criminal fraud when you sell the car. Insurance claim that lies about renting it out - again a criminal charge. Go to jail, enjoy that felony record for the rest of your life.
I don't care if it's illegal, I just want to look cool in a fancy car.
Hell yea hahaha
Nope, I just want to look like a crazy person in a Square Blue vehicle from 20yrs ago.
Beats staring down at a device at a stoplight and being so obvlious that people honk at you to move when the light goes green.
In my state every cars "miles" gets reported to the government yearly.
Good Knowledge Thank You! Be Blessed
I love how at Xtreme Xperience they gave me a whole lecture about safe driving and the consequences if I crash due to disregard of the instructions. I get in the gtb. Perfect. I get in the Lamborghini. Check engine, tire pressure, brake idiot lights are all on. And they say good luck buddy....smh. still drove it. Still fun as fuck! Actually liked it better than the Ferrari. Just thought it was ironic and more so very.. irresponsible of them
Rob Spaghetti spills the secrets to his sauce.
Rob's the OG.
what ins do you need for exotic rental?
Today, Mr. Spaghetti teaches us that most rented meatballs aren't prepared properly.
Whats Mr. Spaghetti doing in Atlanta? Sounds like another Floridaman adventure.
I've been wondering when Rob will do a VINwiki!
Rob didn't answer the one question I wanted to know.
Not as the owner, but as the person renting the vehicle... When I use a site like turo that's person to person, what kind of personal liability am I throwing up for myself?
I mean a lot of us are guys that just have a Subaru or some other bland pedestrian car and we rent out a $400,000 car for a special day... If some SUV is too busy with their iPhone to stop at a light, and totals out that car, our personal insurance is probably not going to be happy that we were not in a Subaru but we were in a Lamborghini...
Or is that something we don't really have to worry about?
It depends on the state, but your auto insurance typically covers the car, not the driver. Damage to someone else's car would come out of something like a personal liability/ umbrella policy on your homeowners insurance policy.
3:12 That's fantastic! We gotta start sniffing out these criminals rolling back cars and press charges!
Yes, exotic cars depreciate, but there are some exceptions. I only rent out Urus's; I have two, and they don't depreciate much. I bought them both lightly used from a Lamborghini dealership for about $200,000 each, and if I were to sell them both right now, my clients having added on about 10,000 and 15,000 miles, respectively, I think I could get my money back on the vehicles by maybe just taking a 10-20 thousand dollar loss.
This guy oddly reminds me of Daniel LaRusso🤷♂️
Good morning bud 👍✌️🙏
I love spaghetti but I laughed when he said corollas and camrys for 3 thousand dollars. Only thing your getting for 3k these days is a rolling shell of a 90s civic lol even the cheap cars on Turo have to be decent shape and there for are like 15k because anything that runs these days is expensive compared to a few years back
Somebody trying to corner the market
In this video Mr. Spaghetti certifies his meatballs are a secret recipe
Today Rob Spaghetti explains why it’s not easy keeping sauce on your meatballs
A friendly reminder not to rent cars to Mr. Spaghetti
At least in the mustang world prices are starting to drop. Mustang Mach 1s and GT350s are starting to drop in Value
Wow Rob works with Mr. Beast I'm guessing
Another to watch for in the exotic car game, the track experience. You get to do about 5 laps in your car of choice. The cost very from as little as £60. Then it starts getting costly.
Photos of you in the car. £40.
Extra insurance so your not liable for the first £3.500 in damage. £40.
There was another cost of about £40 but can't remember what for.
So from the £60 you thought it would cost to nearly £200.
Last but not least. Want to drive the latest super car join the BIG que or pick another, even though when you filled in your paper work you ticked which car you wanted to drive weeks before the event.
Plus there's an instructor in with you...
today mr spaghetti explains what happen when you re-use a stone cold a week old meatball to serve customers
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Mr. Spaghetti is back.
I wish a corolla/camry were 3K😂
"Im the guy who gets things done."
Everyone wants to be seen standing in front of a Lambo. Nobody wants to be the one paying the bills for it.
Why the fascination with these cars that cost what they do and can't even be realistically driven is so high I don't understand. You spent alot on a paperweight that cost more than a house to maintain even when you don't drive it. Congrats
It’s all about optics to some people.
Mr.Spaghetti drops knowledge on vinwiki
Today Mr Spaghetti tells us how to spot counterfeit meatballs...
If you can do what you do and be the middle man, you get your money & the middle mans cut. 😉 You’re welcome.
I look forward to the superkilometerfilterbullshitdetector
Notification Gang. 💯💯
Makes me want a double order of meat balls
You would have to be a fool to rent your super car. Chances of the renter getting into an accident are high that means your car will have to be fixed. It takes experience driving a car with 500 plus horsepower. A bad Carfax report will devalue your car. Along with you will have a ton of rim rash cases. If you are not use to parking a super car you will damage it. He is correct high miles destroys values of cars. Getting caught rolling back your odometer is a crime. Insurance companies and banks do not did on you renting your car. If you rent your super car to a movie production you can buy extra insurance.
Damn i watched him 10 years ago. He got so old
Ed aint gonna invent SHIT! There's ALREADY such a service in Europe that does that.
Don't listen to Rob. He's just trying to reduce the competition ;)
Wow, vinwiki dropped out of my youtube for like 4 months except for 1 short today
Nice Car Story... ;-D
Rob doesn’t age
Vampire?
Face of this guy just in first looks, tell me "I am a layer"
Any market involving big spenders there is a crook.
Spaghetti for the win
