I was nicely tripping on MDMA while seeing Ecstatic Vision live this summer @ Red Smoke Festival. When this song came on, synesthesia kicked in and I could literally TASTE this song. I can't give you an exact recipe but let me explain you what this song is: Astral Plane by Ecstatic Vision is something you might enjoy on a hot summer night. It's a lovely fresh Ice Salad with dices of mango and some small refreshing melon balls, altogether with some red onion julienne and a toping of sweet sour guacamole, sprinkled with dried chilli flakes and some freshly grounded pepper and a shot of lime juice. A refreshing but savoury mix, that let's you explore all the flavours of this sonic masterpiece. Guys, I loved your concert and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Thank you so much and I really hope our paths will eventually cross again!
They are next level psych rock...like all my favourite bands sent out into space and then coming back a few hundred years later as ...ecstatic vision !
if you like all of those bands- you MUST check out Helios Creed! As well as his band Chrome. He's got a ton of music out there so you'll have a good time checking it all out! :-)
@@VodkaBroadWhorizons I agree on Helios! I saw him with Nik Turner's Space Ritual back in the late 90's @ The Middle East Club in Cambridge MA.. Closest person to play like Huw Lloyd LANGTON from Hawkwind
Hi, ECSTATIC VISION!! WOW! 70's Metal/Psychedelic Rock being bought back to life! Sweet! You know, even though I am a hardcore metal/rock fan, I also like some classic rock music, too, because I like the original raw, "starter-rock"vib that it has, I guess because rock then was probably starting from "scratch", but this is really off the hook! This is like The Jimi Hendrix Experience/Wolfmother/Steppenwolf vib all in one! AWESOME! I LOVE IT! The psychedelic colors are to die for! The only rock band that I thought came close to the 70's vib now was Rival Sons, until now! First time seeing a melodica being played with a air tube! Cool! This would make a cool soundtrack cut to a road trip film going back to 70's rock, like "Almost Famous! Thxs for turning me on to you! "KEEP CLASSIC ROCKING!! :-)
Hi antlerr! You're absolutely right, because the more I listen to Ecstatic Vision, I'm hearing a conglomeration of various other 70's psychedelic rock bands in their sound. I think this is really cool to hear a current rock band in this century bring back this 70's psychedelic rock sound. It's almost like the 70's psychedelic rock bands have been reincarnated into Ecstatic Vision! Cool! Keep Rocking Antlerr!!!
Now THIS is quality psych rock! I saw them open for YOB and they really drew in the crowd, even though most people didn't know them. Really quality old school stuff.
Really trippy stuff guys. Progressive Psychedelic Rock at its best and so added to the W.U.M. Psychedelic Rock and the Best of Rock & Alt 2015 playlists.
P.S. I just thought about something! When the music gets at 6:17, it starts to sound just like "Magic Carpet Ride" by "Steppenwolf", and especially when it gets to 8:09, and the melodica is being played!! Super Awesome!! I love this! Classic/Psychedelic Rock Is Awesome!!
I cannot decide if I like the album version better or this version. On the album it is just bass driving the riff at 4:14 ish. instead of guitar and the vocals sound different either way SUCH A GOOD SONG.
this is fucking amazing. i keep discovering incredible bands at 45 yo after a life of listening and buying music. but this is something................and they play tomorrow in berlin wtf......................
This is awesome! The soloing at the end sounds a lot like the outro of I think Madness is God by A Life Once Lost. I wonder if they did that intentionally, either way it's awesome.
Fatten the drummer up & grow his hair out & it's literally The Fabulous Furry Freak Bros !!!!! Freewheeklin' Franklyn on vocals/guitar , Phineas Freak on Bass , and Fat Freddy Freekowtski on Drums , alright .......
A bit pretentious. A bit sensationalistic. "hey maaan space is the place maaan come along with us". I've heard that number countless times. How about writing about how you feel instead?
Best band on sonic whip 2023 !!!!!!!!
!
Saw them open live for Uncle Acid in 2015. Song still gives me goose bumps!

EPIC!!!! drummer holding it all together perfectly.
The bass………😄👍🏻
My favorite bands are Hawkwind, Amon Duul II, Gong, and Earthless. Ecstatic Vision are now in that Pantheon.
Santana in Malo group... Great

I'd say these boyos have been at the hash.
good good
Hard to believe this is the same guy that started A Life Once Lost! This is awesome stuff though!!
kinda reminds me of if hawkwind with lemmy and white zombie had a love child
FUCK YEAH!
This is awesome! The soloing at the end sounds a lot like the outro of I think Madness is God by A Life Once Lost. I wonder if they did that intentionally, either way it's awesome.
Michael Easton It's the same guitar player. Good ear!
ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS

koolJamz
Very annoying to get an advert in the middle of that 13 minutes of brilliance!
adblock is your friend.
The bass guy has one of those acoustic head and cabinet set ups that weigh 1200 lbs.
sounds like hawkwind
trazas de Spacemen 3...
is this real?
Filmed live, effects added later
Good one..goes directly to www.djlonchoradio.cl (24/7 rock tv station)
Lemmy is aging well.
Always wish the best for these musicians. Really enjoyed A Life Once Lost Iron Gag. Not so much this. At Fuckin all.
Ну чо наркоманы, не палитесь?

Some melodies on the guitar would have been nice, or riffs.
Sucks
