I like Das's regional accent and the way he pronounces words. It adds to the feeling that we're all friends just chilling. NSF has such a collection of accents/languages spoken on screen; from various brands of English to German & Spanish. It's good.
Idk why people knock others for how they pronounce words, especially here online. In the online space we literally are from everywhere in the world. People speak differently and there’s no single “correct” way to speak.
What bothers me is how _long_ this nonsense has been going on. It's not just on NSF, it's live commentating on LabPadre, RGV Aerial Photography livestreams, etc., usually the same half-dozen comment section disrupters.
Fun fact, at least in Brazil, I notice that non-native speakers tend to criticize accents way more, maybe because they are so used to Hollywood accents.
Just a few days ago we all expected Starship flight 5 to take place no earlier than late November. But in a matter of days, no, hours this expectation changed to this weekend. And now theire imstalling FTS already! Lets hope everything goes as planned, go s SpaceX!
The feds found out what happens when Elon is bored, twiddling his thumbs waiting for bureaucracy... political armageddon. They'll never get in his way again.
fanastic. thank you DAs, Jack , Mary and the NSF team for sharing such wonderful udpates. Cant believe this bohemot is going to take to space and come back in few days time
IMHO, the narration really ties everything together quite nicely. I seldom watched these before Das started narrating, and now I watch every one. Question Das: how did you get that nickname and what does it mean?
Holy crap am I nervous for this launch. Mainly because of the catch attempt. I’ve been watching the development of Starbase, the launch tower, the OLM and surrounding infrastructure since the beginning. A miss or anomaly, I feel, and I’m probably not the only one thinking this, will have devastating results to everything. Having said that, I have 1000% faith in everyone involved down there that are working towards absolute perfection. Sunday should be interesting! Thank you NSF for all the work, the effort is epic, for getting it done. Awesome on so many levels. GO FLIGHT 5!!
@NASASpaceFlight at the 1:50 mark in this video, those antennas on top of the tower look like they will be used by the booster for triangulation to it's exact location during landing. That is where they will get their measurements from during the booster landing approach.
If the guys actually building the ships and equipment have been this careful and precise about everything before F5 I don’t even want to know what people from the engineering and software side have been up to. I think it’s gonna be a great flight and no matter what we’re going to see more progress just as we’ve seen with every other flight.
Thanks again for your narration! I remember your earlier comment about the Tardis which came to mind when I first saw it. Most people wouldn’t catch it. Great job!
The pilings were temporally exposed right before hurricane Allen made land fall in 1980, I remember my dad driving us kids down to Boca Chica, before the storm came ashore, I remember being some confused since it was sunny summer day the storm was still way offshore, and caused an extreme low tide, the pilings were actually taller, but the tops got ripped, beach goers who could get access to beach (since the street was practically gone) found some around and the flats way passed the dunes, I actually thought they were completely ripped out, thanks for posting this, If my old man was still alive I would tell him the pilings survived, LOL, ask Mary about Hurricane Allen, I was 10 years old at the time but they said concrete from boca chica highway leading to beach were found around the village.
Yes the wood is to let low hanging cables slide over the tops of a high load. Yes do a video on the Del Mar thing (HA Now you gotta do home work) On tower one they left the flag up until they reeved the cable through. I hope they do the same here. It should be ok as far away as it is.Thanks all... kinda enjoying the Boca Chica radio thing!
yes I have seen boards like that on oversized loads. Vacuum: Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more engine bell! I wonder how many flies the chopsticks squished.
So with FTS installed (pretty early? Thought maybe tonite?) and deluge test guess it's still on for tomorrow? Heading out to raptor roost in a few hours so now's the time to say . . .
It's for over height loads or those very close to the maximum. Without requiring the power company to remove or lift the lines. However, there will still be spotters with poles, lifting the lines as needed. The lead vehicle will have a pole set at the same height, minus a few inches. This will give some time for the ground spotters and drivers a chance to react. All over passes will have to be bypassed, fixed structures don't flex very well
The 2 towers did refer to Minas Morgul (the one with Sauron's Eye) and Orthanc (the one with the wizard in white with the palantir). However, Orthanc was made of a black stone, so you just had the colors backwards. Black Orthanc and White Wizard, Saruman.
nasa most likely is certifying them instead of faa as they got vested interest for sx to get this system operational asap and at the pace sx needs/wants to go instead of the slow bureaucracy that gov normally operates at.. otherwise there will be no return to the moon before CHN
Nobody had reported for certain but the regulations say that Fish & Wildlife has up to 60 days to report back. That's the time FAA was giving as a response. Seems likely they didn't need that much time. Eric Berger is reporting license drop likely Sat 10/12
at 11:06 you state " We do an entire video on the Delmar Beach Resort"? I cannot find it anywhere where do I find this video on the Delmar Beach resort?
I think they should wait until the second tower is ready for launch procedures before they try the catch, so if the first tower is destroyed, then they can continue launches from tower 2.
Seeing all these rocket and space-related stuff has made me realise that the infamous "Rocket Science" isn't really as scary as people say it is, at least in my head. Like, sure, it may be complicated but it's not something that is impossible to learn even for someone relatively normal. To the point that I sometimes joke to myself while studying, "This subject isn't rocket science. And kind of enjoy rocket science. So what's stopping me from understanding this subject I'm studying right now?"
nasa can do flight certs on its own for space.. while sx must go to faa as its commercial... due to starship being needed for return to the moon nasa most likely has taken over the cert job to give sx the opportunity to go faster than what gov normally operates at
I don't think so personally. I read from sources that US Fish and Wildlife finished there review faster than the 60 days allowed to them. I think FAA just worked really hard to speed the review process up. t@@joansparky4439
I am sure SpaceX has already blown in excess of $15 billion so far into developing starship. I am just making a ballpark guess over it's 10 year development history and including it's infrastructure at Boca Chica, Kennedy and McGregor
Can someone please provide a link to the history of the 'Del Mar Resort', because when I search with that name, I only find several modern day resorts at different locations.

Dude, i still have whiplash from that 180 of NET LATE november to this weekend
Why does SpaceX think they can launch FT5 on October 13th?
broke my heart only to mend it again
The feds found out what happens when Elon is bored, twiddling his thumbs waiting for bureaucracy... political armageddon. They'll never get in his way again.
It did. It's caught.
We need a story time with Das just talking about the history of Boca Chica
I would love to learn more about the Del Mar Beach Resort! 😊
Yes the board's on top are actually for in case you get close to a wire
Love, love, love the Das recaps. Keep them coming.
fanastic. thank you DAs, Jack , Mary and the NSF team for sharing such wonderful udpates. Cant believe this bohemot is going to take to space and come back in few days time
5:41 the worker got on his laptop to watch the latest episode of NSF.
IMHO, the narration really ties everything together quite nicely. I seldom watched these before Das started narrating, and now I watch every one. Question Das: how did you get that nickname and what does it mean?
Im down for a Boca Chica History by Das - series
Thank you Daz. Deluge or deluge who cares !. God bless you.
You rock rigel fourmyle please don't stop 🙏 🎶 ❤. Moo n car 550s star link cars in your garage

i do like these vids(narrated)...been a subscriber for so so long..5 or 6 yrs i think
....and i like these vids
Good deal, thank you! - Das
8:02 it's cool how the moon is in the background, which will be the target of this operation eventually. 😮
@NASASpaceFlight at the 1:50 mark in this video, those antennas on top of the tower look like they will be used by the booster for triangulation to it's exact location during landing. That is where they will get their measurements from during the booster landing approach.
Thanks DAS for another awesome SpaceX Boca Chica Update! Thank you & NSF!
I didn't know about the mural, that's actually really interesting.
If the guys actually building the ships and equipment have been this careful and precise about everything before F5 I don’t even want to know what people from the engineering and software side have been up to. I think it’s gonna be a great flight and no matter what we’re going to see more progress just as we’ve seen with every other flight.
(Brownsville Station?) Del Mar Beach Resort history would be cool!
Great job on these as always. Would love a video on Boca Chica and the Del Mar resort
With Das Droll - these are the best episodes!
Thanks Das and NSF team.
Thanks again for your narration! I remember your earlier comment about the Tardis which came to mind when I first saw it. Most people wouldn’t catch it. Great job!
Great job on the commentary and photography! Thanks!

10:22 The tower applauds itself
Good job tower!
Thanks again for the info and your commentary!
Das has that perfect bedtime story voice
DAS, Correct the board's on top are to help prevent a snag on a wire but the chase vehicles should be warning the truck operator about the low wires.
Do the resort video please?
Please and thank you! Do the resort video. Heck if Das is talking I would like to hear about all of Boca Chica history.
Congratulations SpaceX and NasSpaceFlight team for the great coverage.
the mural looks so cool!
Thanks Das great as always 😊
I would be interested in a history if the boca chic area. The beach resort, boca, the historical marker. All the stuff.
Yes the wood is to let low hanging cables slide over the tops of a high load. I am also a Dell ooodge enjoyer.
Here in Central Texas, it's "Day-looooge" 😊
Thanks for sharing. They should have cameras on both the towers pointing at each other for other anglers at takeoffs.
Even the murals at Starbase are out of date before they're released😂the flaps are still Version 1
Splendid
I appreciate the visible convection currents to the right at 0:42
yes I have seen boards like that on oversized loads.
Vacuum: Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more engine bell!
I wonder how many flies the chopsticks squished.
Love your commentary
having the flag on the second tower would be great for photos ngl
Great video, I just have a bad feeling about this catch attempt.
Excitement guaranteed!
Thank you for the update.
Get this guy to do all the commentary 😊
*All* of it. Yikes. 😅 - Das
Thank you.
Driving all night will be at Starbase by the end of the day!!!!
Hi! It’s a pleasure to connect with you!
I love it ❤
Please do a video on the del mar beach resort!
So with FTS installed (pretty early? Thought maybe tonite?) and deluge test guess it's still on for tomorrow? Heading out to raptor roost in a few hours so now's the time to say . . .
I am from Oregon where the deluges fall from the sky and I've always pronounced it the way you do down there in Texas...
I mean, dell-yuge, day-luge, tomayto tomahto. Heh 🤷♂️ -Das
Tower 1 doing the Crab Rave‼️

Reverse Cable Sled. So smart!
Hey Das, how many G's do you think these test flights are pulling in these tests?
1:02 such a view ❤❤❤
"Dell-huge" 😄
Now I am interested in the local resort that no longer exists.
The 2 towers did refer to Minas Morgul (the one with Sauron's Eye) and Orthanc (the one with the wizard in white with the palantir). However, Orthanc was made of a black stone, so you just had the colors backwards. Black Orthanc and White Wizard, Saruman.
@3:45 Do they test all engines before installation into Starship? Curious because that engine nearest the camera looks remarkably clean.
How wet does the deluge get the engines?
I seem to remember that each nozzle is aimed away from the bottom of the booster so that it does not contact the engines...
Aahhhh...... shit! Water deluge, There goes the environment again! 🤣💦🚰
Celebrating they're 300 day water license. 🎉🎉🎉
11:30 yep thats the moon!!
Can someone explain briefly how they are launching earlier than expected
nasa most likely is certifying them instead of faa as they got vested interest for sx to get this system operational asap and at the pace sx needs/wants to go instead of the slow bureaucracy that gov normally operates at.. otherwise there will be no return to the moon before CHN
I saw several videos speculating that NASA told FAA to FAFO!
Can we do. It hasn’t been done yet, but I’m sure you can find others if you do a general YT search
Oi! SpaceX! Did you get a loicense for that water test?!
I think they should wait until the second tower is ready for launch procedures before they try the catch, so if the first tower is destroyed, then they can continue launches from tower 2.
Those tension wires are gonna give first.

Hi everyone
But FAA said no launch until late November?

If they can't catch the Booster, can the Booster fly away to the sea? I hope that we can see you guys, all of you, on launch day. 🤩 🥳 🤠 🚀
More nozzle, more better!
screenshot every person's comment who says spacex'll never make it, then shame them once they do.
"Lack of sharp corners" - comment for the algorithm ;-)
The two towers may be the wrong ones, but I do hope they melt no rings this time.
Of course! Here's a good one: www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Del_Mar_Resort
- Das
how did they managed to be launching it so early?
nasa prob certing instead of faa due to moon race
lets watch the chopsticks practice catching :D
I must say, I prefer "del-yuge", but I was born and brought up in the UK.
100% chance booster makes it 😂
👍
Ok ❤🎉rigel thank you I appreciate it so much love you sweet dreams row my ship
If someone puts a big flaming eye on one of the towers, I'm going to be very scared. Already took off my ring, just in case.
"Dell-yooj" is British. "Day-loozh" is perfectly acceptable for American pronunciation.
Or "Day-luge"
I hope they won't have to use the booster's FTS
Its not Deluge, its deluge :p
Is host high on something?
nope, hes always like that, a happy nature
@@joansparky4439 Good to know. 👍
👍👍❤
Block 1 starships on the mural. Sad!
Aahh..Booster #12 / Starship # 30 early morning 🚿 shower....
I hope booster 12 gets catched
Caught
Most fast people moving in the world ³0 30 minets around the world 🌎 ❤the first time in history all ready and hugs and kisses 👏 💋 😘
Does the FAA feel rhe same way about that flag???....
I'm not sure.
Same way as what?
They wasted so much water , didnt they?? Lesh fine them😂
they dont want burn the flag during launch, so it is hanging on tower west ;-)
