It looked better than this, constant rain, thunder and lightning and all manner of visual improvements. Can’t find the video anywhere now
It would be so easy for Disney or EA to create an official remake of this game. They could practically print money, and maybe we could even see some new content that wasn't in the original... I remember I always wanted to fly the TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, and Cloud Car. Having the B-Wing and TIE Defender would be awesome as well, doubly so if we could get the TIE Hunter from _Rebel Strike._ So much potential... and yet the people in charge of Star Wars games won't lift a finger.
They could easily remake all the classic games from star wars and just call it Star Wars Legends: Rogue Squadron Collection, that way it is separate from the canon universe.
Word has it that Aspyr would LOVE to release the original game again if the demand is high enough, once they finished with the KOTOR remake. Here is hoping that it will happen eventually...
I want Aspyr Media to rescue star wars rougue squadron as happened with star wars racer episode 1 and star wars republic commando recently. I don't care if it costs $ 15, I want to play it again and remember my childhood. In its day I could not complete it because the nintendo 64 needed memory and lost my game progress. Nowadays it is possible to play it on stwitch, xbox and playstation. The only bad thing is that the pandemic has delayed everything and people work from home and office. It is not easy but little by little you can achieve it and bring all the star wars classics.
When I bought star wars squadrons EA, the campaign was not bad, but I expected missions like rouge squadron go flying on the surface of the planet and destroying things. Squadron missions were mostly in space and a lot of debris.
I was in the subreddit for this project a few years ago. The team was hit with a cease and desist. Very sad, this had so much potential and the team was making very good progress
Yeah, Disney and Lucasfilm will issue cease-and-desist orders left and right because THEY want to be able to profit off of this sort of thing, but then they sit on their hands and make absolutely no effort to create their own remake anyway. It would cost them nothing, and make them a ton of money, and still they won't do anything.
This could had been a great remake for the switch, since its the only console without a star wars game, and RS was a nintendo-exclusive game, so this guy should be hired by Disney and remake RS, because this proves fans can make better content than big companies

I understand they have every right to not let them make this game but honestly it’s a stupid decision on their part, they could have partnered with this person and make a buttload of money. Disney clearly doesn’t care about star wars fans obviously, if they did the sequels wouldn’t exist
The creater should just create a free full conversion mod for the original Rogue Squadron. That would be be the perfect middle finger in Disneys direction. I mean, look what fans do with the original XWVSTF

Ive always wondered with all the HD remakes or full on remakes, how the Rogue series never got one. Is there a legal aspect im unaware of? Star Wars sells. Also if you are looking for a fun on rails space shooter, check out Aces of the Galaxy. Its available still on the Xbox store dirt cheap. Been playing it for over 10 years whenever i get the itch to shoot stuff in space.
