They act as though they're occupying hostile enemy territory, treating regular people as inferior subjects instead of equals who they're supposed to protect. A lot of firearms officers want their identify protecting due to the incidents and crimes they work on. Also with people like myself who document and record incidents they work it presents risks with it being in the public domain.
