@@ryve4523 Those officers responding were ARV (Armed response vehicles) in the start so yes they were armed. And most of the officers are unarmed and if you want to get a gun you need to go through very tough and long specialised firearms training. The thing is unlike in the US, the UK doesn't have as many guns. And the thing is armed officers are ready to respond at a seconds notice and they take firearms related crimes VERY seriously in the UK.

We do a job and have to respond to treble nine calls on blue lights, the public rarely give light to our presence, let alone film us deploying out to jobs. Why anyone would want to stand close to the routes in and out of the nick just to record police vehicles on blue lights, is beyond me. It's a distraction to road users, ooh there is a man filming, ooh there is a police car on blue lights in my rear view, who should I look at and pay attention to, whoops I've crashed because I wasn't watching the road ahead and checking my mirrors, instead I was taking sight of morons stood at the side of the carriageway making UA-cam videos, I do apologise your worships. Takes a while to get to Merthyr from Cardiff. They need their own armed Police.
There's usually a 'North Car', which covers Pontypridd, Merthyr and the valleys, however this was at shift changeover, so came from cardiff
