2 Wire Coil on Plug Testing | Tech Tip

In this video, we demonstrate how to test two-wire coil unplug assemblies off the vehicle, providing a detailed guide on connecting and testing them accurately.
The power supply and engine control module-controlled wire are critical to understand, and we'll highlight the significance of a perfect power supply and the use of a 20 to one attenuator for protection against potential 400-volt inductive kicks. By following our lead connections and observing the lab scope, you'll see how the coil unplug assembly functions during its dwell time and the induction of high voltage into the secondary winding, reaching up to 50,000 volts.
