Season 4 Episode 5 "Mirror MIrror"
Foreman returns to Princeton-Plainsboro and is assigned to oversee House's candidates. A man (Frank Whaley) is mugged and suffers from a respiratory arrest. Though he has no memories of who he is, he can read the personality of the most dominant person in the room, applying it to himself to create a temporary identity. This is due to a rare disease known as Giovannini Mirror Syndrome. House becomes intrigued by the accuracy of this judge of character and manipulates the patient to judge others, while a team member wonders if House is more dominant than Cuddy.

I find houses logic about the hot tub odd. Kutner looks like a happy kinda goofy guy it's not that hard to imagine he does love hot tubs. The guy mirrors his own perceptions of people he's not fucking psychic all of a sudden.
Yeah!
When someone becomes so absorbed with the reactions and potential perceptions of others( in this case completely subconsciously), they can be extremely accurate in their "guesses".
It's more likely that he was remembering something about himself than it was that he was misreading Kutner's stance on hot tubs. Throughout the episode, he would only state something emphatically as part of his mirror syndrome if it was something he perceived about the person with whom he was speaking. Given Kutner's obvious distaste for hot tubs, and this guy's accurate reads of everyone else( many times during the episode his comments "in character" actually taught the people with whom he was speaking things about themselves, sometimes things they didn't want to admit), it's not illogical to assume it wasn't a misread of Kutner, but rather an assertion of the self.

Watching this after knowing what happens to Kutner makes it hit different for me “If I’m not doing something interesting than who the hell am I” shows that Kutner really struggled to find who he was and lacked so much confidence in himself despite his outward demeanor.
To me it also indicated his willingness to go far to ''try something new'' and feel excitement which might either hint at his underlying depression OR even indicate that his suicide was another experiment gone wrong...
It seems being locked up in a Target store with Jennifer Connelly and not being able to marry her afterwards made him go crazy.

@Geraldine CHEUNG [13R04S] As far as I can tell that guy completely made that up
@syd bohne Michael Nesmith of the Monkees once told an interviewer, “In 1967 the Monkees sold more records than the Beatles and Rolling Stones combined.” The guy just took it--hook, line, and sinker. And of course it got picked up and passed on by multiple sources.
To compound the outrageousness of this true story, Nesmith remembers, "As we sat down for the interview, before he asked the first question, I told him that I was going to lie to him."
Who's to say his character is not doing that deliberately as a tactic to pick up chicks?
*lived and went to school in Hamilton, OH*
Not surprised he up and left
"You're Happy?"
"Why wouldnt I be?"

"WHO IS THIS GUY"
It’s nice to see both of my favourite characters from Swing Kids together again!!
i tought this guy was killed by samuel l jackson more than a decade ago :D
At least he stopped answering "What" on everything.
Closer to 30 years now to be exact😂🤣🤣
I love it when Foreman sits back in awww. Learn something new everyday
this episode must be the on of best in the series. amazing show
Thanks for keeping this channel going. You should've included the last scene from this episode where Cuddy and House go into his room to see which one of them is actually in charge.
They included that scene in other videos. This one was more about new doctors and the patient himself.
This is by far the most favorite episode of mine
I just want to say I love this channel I take the time to piece together entire episodes through UA-cams algorithm
Keep uploading please. It's really refreshing
Massive respect for keeping this show alive
Still watching up to this day. Thank you.
Thanks for doing this I had forgotten how much I like house.
"what you do"
House: "stuff".
"Me too"
Idk if it showed it in this video, but the scene where house tells everyone in the cafeteria the mayonnaise is tainted to get back back at cuddy, and then cuddy writes "clinic" on the whiteboard in the conference room with the skeleton pointing at it was pure comedic genius. 🤣 no matter how many times I watch that scene I die laughing
@0:50 in House says "Do you know another mirror syndrome?" To Foreman.. Which is odd because there is actually another one which is completely different to Giovannini's Mirror syndrome as it affects pregnant women's fetus' only and is just "Mirror Syndrome" or sometimes known as "Ballantyne Syndrome".
True..... but I don't think an adult male can suffer from that.....
So good to see these episodes again
The way he "fainted" in the tub omg lol
To sleep kid.
