So, in Spanish, there's a word for a chess strategy called "Celada". There's no exact translation, but the closest to it might be "ambush". It's done by tricking your oponent into doing something that ultimately benefits you. And you see, the key to a good celada is not just taking your oponent by surprise, it's not just making him think everything's okay so he doesn't suspect. No; the key to a good celada is bait. It's making your oponent think HE is the one that's tricking you. Making him think YOU are the one that's going down, because once that they see victory on the horizon, they'll want to rush to it, and end up falling... exactly where you wanted. Some really intelligent celadas even have several traps inside the traps. You make a small sacrifice, basically, you let yourself to fall into one trap, in order to create a bigger one. That's how you make a good celada. But you see, the most interesting thing, is that the concept of celadas doesn't only work in chess. In a more metaphoric level, they can also be applied in real life. After all, isn't chess a metaphor for life itself? And take a look at what we see here. House and the kid are playing, but what do they exactly show when they do so? Both seem to be very good at it, but when House moves his knight, the kid's smirk says it all. He thinks he has won. He thinks House, his opponet, is the one going down. But this chess match isn't a big deal. This chess match won't change anything important. What this chess match is, is, precisely, a small sacrifice. A bait. And by reacting in such an arrogant and aggressive way after he wins, the boy reveals much more about his character than what he could obtain by winning the game. House pays the prize of giving up this match, but by doing so... he gets to see how the person in front of him *really* is. He gains much more information. And the best thing, is that he doesn't even realize it. Basically, House made a celada, a chess ambush, with the chess game itself. Now that's beauty. Be careful with celadas, my friends. And cheers from Spain.

Dyow Zhars that was very interesting
Dyow Zhars so it is pretty much a sacrifice for your own benefit
Us English-speaking chess players simply call that a swindle.
Xanatos Gambit maybe?
Sounds like what celeda is referring to in this context.
@Bill Zussman come back when you're actually funny.
Seizures on House make me laugh... Epilepsy runs in my family and I've witnessed so many real seizures. Some _terrifying_
kimberly s Same here
My niece had epilepsy among many other things since birth and her seizures could be the left arm stretched over the head and the right leg bent by the knee. And just subtle spastic movements over the body. The worst was the horrible, scared cry she made during and after. Poor baby, she passed away before she could turn 4. I miss her so much..
the real scary ones are the ones you can't see, to me. Grammals are definitely scary, but when someone acting perfectly normal just starts staring off or has a complete memory laps, that's what makes me worry. my mom has been epileptic for almost 10 years now, and I had it all throughout highschool. Both of us found a treatment that works for us, but we both still have bad episodes every once in a while.
Alexis Oelberg ive never seen a ”silent” seizure but it sounds terrifying...!
@@hejmedlitetH08 i have 'silent' seizures too- their called petit mal absence seizures, they usually last a few second but can last for minutes depending on the person- to other people it looks like you just stare off into space for a few minutes, its called absent because you completely black out- its like your brain shuts off for a few seconds, and usually your anxiety spikes afterwards even if you don't remember why
personally i find grammals scarier but that's just me, i might just be used to the kind i get-

I see the title.
I'm immediately skeptical.
Finally, a kid who made House said to him "jerk".
That kid will go places

Yeah. Hell
It was at this moment that the kid decided to become a diagnostition in order to defeat House at his own game.
Ben Shapiro, is that you?

Imagine if we all had a doctor like house man we'd all be okay
We’d have to go through extreme amounts of pain but eventually we’d get better
I absolutely can't blame the mom for loving to hear that her son is going to live in agony for the rest of his life.
House only said he’d have to get his blood drained every couple months, that wouldn’t really hurt that badly.
9:35 Pot calling the kettle black moment.
Acting is critical, and these two 'jerks' nailed it, and Kudos to the writers who know how to 'play games' ;)

My question is why are they suddenly releasing all these House snippets on UA-cam in 2019? Could there be a spin-off in the works?
Doubt it. They've been releasing these snippets since August of 2017, they recently auctioned off a bunch of costumes and props from the series, and Chase, the heir to House's diagnostic throne, has been a fireman on NBC for the last seven years.

@Renee Jewell you are correct, because you obviously are dumb. They in this case refers to the show itself. If you would look before insulting people you would see that it wasn't uploaded by anybody, but by the show itself.

@6:30 THIS!!!
Ive always wonder why saying things like, "you did your best" was a way to somehow comfort the loser.
Playing competitive soccer I heard things like that often (usually from all the parents) occasionally from couches but that "do your best" "leave it all on the field" talk was usually a pregame talk not the endgame chat.
I'm sure I said it a handful of times whilst I was coaching as well. We do what we know I suppose.
But it never made sense that why doing your very best and still losing was ever a comforting approach.
Like... ya I did my best and my very best wasn't enough. It's mean really. 😆
This kid both looks like and radiates the same energy as Ben Shapiro
But less smart
And what I mean is the kid is smarter than Benny boy.
Yeah...AntiChrist Energy
True but only if you are a snowflake or leftist
Grayve Rose keep crying
I can't decide whether House should have liked this kid because the kid seemed so much like House, or if House should have hated the kid because he was too much like House. What a conundrum.
crucisnh House probably disliked the kid because while House had a reason for being a jerk, this kid was a jerk simply because he felt that he was superior to everyone. He has a loving Mom, goes to the best schools, and is intellectually gifted. He isn't even unhappy or in pain. He is simply a jerk who gets his kicks from making people feel bad.
