I recently built a DIY wood sign for our porch that doubles as a planter box and I wanted to share the tutorial! I also did a pretty watercolor-esque painting technique that I love. Enjoy!

Wood Cuts:

How do you use acrylic paint on stained wood without it peeling off. I always had that happen, even when i used polycrylic as a base coat. Very beautiful. I thought the leaves were a decal sticker from the store until i seen you using the stencil
I seal with polycrylic after I paint and that holds everything in. I also pull the stencil off before it's fully dry to stop it from curing too much and then ripping off. Typically, I also use chalk paint for the entire sign, but I didn't have the colors I needed all in chalk paint
Thank you for getting back to me. I should have mentioned during the stenciling process when im pulling the stencil off the acrylic paint peels off with the stencil.I do peel the stencil off as soon as im done stenciling. I dont know but I think I just might have to make this. Love it. Tfs
@@ashleymcgeary5129 I don't know but maybe make sure that you're stain is completely dry by letting it dry overnight first and then the other thing that might be the problem is that you are loading too much paint onto the stencil all at once. Try doing a little bit at a time and letting it dry a little bit in between each coat. Hope that helps

Do you think mod podge either matte or satin would work as a sealer instead of polycrylic?
Yes! Just make sure you do long strokes in the same direction for a uniform finish :)
When inserting the file it is extremely large in design space how do I get it smaller but the right size for this project?
Go up to the top and resize the hight and width. Or you can edit it before you upload if you want to upload a smaller size.

Where do you find a 12 inch Pine board nowadays that isn't a fortune? I just looked on your link and that particular board is no longer available and the closest thing to it is about $20
