How To Record Keynote AND Webcam Using QuickTime Player & iMovie
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 чер 2024
- In this tutorial I show you how to record your Apple Keynote presentation along with your webcam, then combine them into a picture-in-picture video, with the help of QuickTime Player and iMovie - applications, like Keynote, that come bundled with a Mac computer.
Apple Keynote is slick presentation software, but it’s also a powerful, low-cost video creation tool. But what’s missing from Keynote (at least at the time of this recording) is the ability to record your webcam while recording your presentation.
Having your face on camera as you go through your presentation can help your content connect with the viewer.

Your Quick Time videos are Super helpful. Panicked until I found you :) I need to make a video interview and put it into my Quick Time movie. Will I be able to use Zoom for the interview and add to my Quick Time movie, or what do you recommend? Also, when it comes to inserting pictures, what picture/photo format should I use. Thanks a billion!
Thanks. subscribed
Thanks, Mike. Your presentation is concise and clear. Just a question: is there a way where I can use Keynote presenter view to record my along with your webcam?
amazing video I subscribe to your channel keep up the amazing work I have been using iMovie as my editing software
Hi Michael, thank you for this amazing & very clear tutorial. I have a request on how to make zoom training more exciting, especially the transition from share screen into webcam. Warm regards from Indonesia
Thank you! :-)
Watching this again, unknown times at this point. Just the simplicity I want (don't want to become a software engineer). I do have a request on a video. UA-cam Beta, now the default, is still too complicated or obscure for me. The Endscreen handles have moved and nothing intuitive gets them to move. I still have to use Classic. Although, your job is much simpler than mine. Those buttons are always going to be where you can find them. Inventing bioplastics is not so easy. Thank you so much for making easy to follow videos on subjects related to UA-cam video production.
This is so well done. I wonder if you (or anyone else reading this) have any insight on how to do this but with the added wrinkle of sometimes using the webcam recording picture in picture, and sometimes switching to a phone camera face recording in split screen within iMovie. Thanks.
Thank you very much for this detailled video. My question is- is there any possibility to do this as well by using an iPad?
Great work! I love your stuff. Could you teach how to make an animated logo using Keynote? Thank you!
Thanks for the clear explanation! The only question is, how did you record /this/ video?
It was quite creative. Thank you, Michael, for sharing. As I am working on tech content I was wondering if I can record my cam + presentation with the use of any Adobe products. Recording screen plus camera at the same time within one app. Any ideas?
Great tutorial video! Very useful for me. I'm trying to use OBS to do it all together in a scenery at once but when I push the play button on Keynote it does not permit me to use CMD TAB on my Mac Book Pro to access OBS again in order to select the Keynote presentation window in play mode and complete my scenery. I think I'll use your method. Thank you for sharing it! Congratulations from Brazil !
Hi Mike,
I found that in the new screen capture mode one can elect to record screen without audio. So by doing this I just record the webcam with sound and this solves one issue. Thx for your excellent sharing, i watch all the adverts so you get paid but think Patreon would be great for your content too.
Just found your channel mike, very helpful, appreciate you sharing 30 years of video editing experience. Have subbed. I’m always looking to improve my editing skills on my UA-cam channel, so many thanks. Regards shane.
Thank you for the kind words, Shane, and thanks for subbing! I really like how you're using visuals in your videos. Great use of the medium. What editing software are you using?
I use iMovie, have been for a few years and still learning new things, I dare say that when I completely know it, I’ll move on to pro. Thanks again mike. You have a nice easy going presenting style as well, which I like. Atb. Ciou
Thanks for the handy video. How do you deal with the HUGE! memory output from iMovie? (I plan to make training video's for online learning courses...)
Nice job. Thank you very much. Is there any way of placing the webcam video outside the keynote full screen that it doesn't interfere with the slides content?
