    Hi Micheal,thanks for your epic tutorial! And I have a question for you : I want to record some English lessons with keynote. And while I am recording, I want to draw some lines and type some words on the screen, and I also hope that ScreenFlow can record the drawing action. So do you have a good plan for my destination? I tried a meeting app: zoom , but its not good enough... wish you can reply me if have time ,thank you !

    Hello, I really enjoy your videos, also may I ask you a question?
    I really need audio advice because I'm having trouble with my audio on screen flow. I plugged in my Yeti, set it up on the interface but I can't hear any of the audio on-screen flow! I looked at a few UA-cam videos, but they didn't help. It's nerve-racking. . Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michael. New subscriber here. I've checked out some of your other videos and find them very valuable. A question I have - I noticed that you have some videos on iMovie as an editor. If I wanted to invest in something like ScreenFlow, would that be enough for me to use as an editor, or would I be fine just using iMovie? I'm guessing if I wanted to do online courses or instances where I'd want to capture my screen, then ScreenFlow would be superior.
    Also, somewhat related - do you use any type of teleprompter? I'm very impressed with your eloquence. I'd be filled with "uh"s, "um"s and stammering. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on how you speak so eloquently. Maybe it's just years of practice! :)
    In any case, thanks very much for the videos. I look forward to checking out some of your previous videos and future videos as well!

      If you plan on doing videos involving screen recording, ScreenFlow or Camtasia is a better bet. However, they aren't strong video editors. You can edit together a screen recording with camera video well enough, if the edit is fairly simple. But they lack more advanced editing tools like iMovie's Precision Editor and Clip Trimmer. All depends on what you want to do. If you're looking for an all-round screen-capture, editor, then ScreenFlow or Camtasia are good choices.

      Hi Michael,
      May I please ask a question? I trust you. (And I watch BOTH ads on all your tutorials. :-) )
      I'm creating an online training course:
      -about 50 separate videos of Keynote slide presentations with my voice-over
      -Some embedded outside videos (with their own audio) within the presentation
      -No video feed of me or screen captures (I'm not teaching software or otherwise doing something on the computer)
      -using dual-screen (record presentation on one screen; view presenter notes on the other)
      I'm looking for the simplest but most "high production quality" way to produce these videos in HD
      -with the ability to EASILY edit sound (clean up background noise, remove bloopers, etc.)
      -AND splice in updates if I need to later
      I do NOT anticipate using the fancy moves you demonstrate in Screenflow here. All the fancy will be in my Keynote presentation.
      I've watched your Quicktime/iMovie and Screenflow tutorials, but I don't know which would be best.
      Using Mac OS High Sierra currently.
      Thank you!!

    This is a great feature of Screenflow, I may have to pick this software up. I am one of your subscribers who is still getting started, figuring out needs, what I can live with and without as I build my presence. I recently stumbled on a video where the creator was saying that he now uses Ecamm to not only do livestreams, but also standard UA-cam Videos by simply streaming/saving to the hard drive. Have you tested Ecamm? If so, how does it compare to something like Screenflow?
    Thank you Michael!

    • @azed5251
      @azed5251 5 років тому

      I think I would like my workflow to be something like this: create the content for the blog, from there, advertise the blog and future mediums (video & podcast) on social media, then record and distribute the content in video form while being able to parse out the audio for a podcast recording, and finally, manage the evergreen and updates when necessary (at least I think this makes sense).
      We can so quickly become inundated with software/apps (image creation solutions, writing software, website design software, and page builders, social media management, podcast software, and of course video software). Not only do I need to be lean for financial reasons right now, but it becomes overwhelming to manage all of these solutions. I am on a Mac so I can use built-in programs like Keynote and iMovie, but I also value time and quality, so whenever there is a paid solution that allows me to get things done a little quicker, and with similar or even better quality, I am glad to learn about it. I like the one-time price of Screenflow, but if Ecamm can accomplish all of the same goals, plus handle livestreams, well that is something I would definitely consider.

    • @MacVideoMagic
      @MacVideoMagic  5 років тому +1

      It's easy to be overwhelmed by all the tech. That's why I alway tell people to focus on the content, first. Your technical needs are born from the content. Ecamm Live is a nice product that I've had since release, but I was disappointed when they went to a subscription model. Also keep in mind that ScreenFlow not only does screen recording, it does video editing, graphics, text, animation, green screen, audio recording and mixing. Ecamm Live can stream and record, but you have to import the majority of assets (created elsewhere) you want to use in your livestream or recording. Both great products, with different core purposes. 🙂
