This riff and how it increases in tempo might be my favourite moment in their whole discography

I use 11-52 for D standard on my bc rich stealth and it is kind of hard on my hands. I was was wondering what string gauge do you prefer when playing difficult stuff like death and necrophagist?

I use exactly those! On the Marilyn and the xiphos it’s perfect. I like the harshness and the tightness - makes me have to somewhat have that proper finger strength

Thanks for the answer. I thought that you would use something super loose like 10-46 tune to D for that kind of speed. I guess i must need to work more and no excuses. Your videos are super inspiring.

@infernaldeath1005 you could also use balanced tension 11s for a different feel. I hate how normal 11s feel because each string feels wildly different in tension and mass, so it's another great option

Great take, but with balanced tension I feel that I have problem with intonation. And barre chords are weird to play.

@@infernaldeath1005I also started using 11-52 after 10-46 was too loose for d standard, maybe you need to get used to 11 on d standard?
I think of increasing to 12 for d standard because I do like tuning up to E on the 11's, and the tension feels good to me personally
