- Welcome back to our channel. Life with the bridges.
We are the bridge family trying to get the most out of this rat race we all call life.
In September 2021 we found out our dreams had come true. We were expecting a new addition ….to the Bridge family.
We spent the next 9 months, like any normal parents would, preparing our life for the arrival of our little boy.
On the 11th of may 2022, at 11:11pm we were bless with the birth of our son. HE WAS PERFECT. We instantly felt love like we had never experienced and our family of 4 we always dreamed of. Was finally complete.
We had the most magical first 8 months with Teddy experiencing all that life had to offer. UNTIL on the 24 of feb 2023 he got diagnosed with high risk AML Leukaemia.
We spent 6 months (184 days to be exact) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He endured 2 rounds of chemotherapy and a full bone marrow transplant in hope that it would save our son's life.
We documented every part of his journey on this channel to raise awareness and give childhood cancer the exposure it deserves.
After riding the hellish and unpredictable storm Teddy made it to the end of his treatment and RANG. THAT BELL!
You are joining us now in our next chapter of this journey at home at bridge HQ, as we try to rebuild our life and continue to spread awareness about what it’s like to have a child post cancer and transplant in hope that this second chance at life we have been given. IS FOREVER.

Our perspective and what we want from life when spending 6 months in hospital fighting for your child’s life, let’s just say has changed a little.
All though myself and Katie have been lucky enough to travel the world far and wide in the past and now are slightly restricted for now due to Teddys recovery. This doesn’t mean to can’t dream, explore and go on adventures from our doorstep to show our son what life has to offer.
TIME is something that none of us have control over and let me tell you. It isn’t on our side. I don’t have time. We don’t have time and you don’t have time. Yes I said it. YOU. DON'T. HAVE. TIME.
So if there is one message we would like to spread to all of our community here on our channel. It’s live for today as tomorrow is never promised.
We are going to breathe deep, dream big, travel wide step out our comfort zone and go and grab life with both hands and make the most out of what ever time we have left on this earth. AND WE are taking you along with us. So buckle up as LIFE. WERE COMING FOR YOU.

Happy to see Teddy just blossoming! How fabulous to see him with family for you both to experience from the other lens! I know this is something you didn’t know if you would ever get to experience! As a grandmother of a recently turned 2 year old, by daughter and son-in-law always are so grateful when we take our grandchild for the night our watch her and thank us so much but, they don’t realize how much more WE actually receive from our beautiful grandchild in that experience. Not only do we get to spend time with our grandchild who is incredible, it also reminds us of our daughter at that age, it is a double blessing that until you become a grandparent, there are no words I can describe of the love you feel.
Absolutely and I couldn’t agree any more. My mum constantly reminds me of this. As parents we are so thank for her. But actually she says you’re thanking me, when I should be thanking you for letting
me have him! We are extremely lucky!

What a wonderful video! Thank you Nanny and family. Teddy was soooo happy. Soooo many words without the binky. My son loved his binkies. He would fall a sleep with 3. One in mouth and one in each hand. May I suggest he only use them for sleep now. Very little sucking, just a habit. Soon he will be saying 2 and three word sentences. Teddie is such a cutie pie
The IVIG (iv immunoglobulin) is a godsend in my experience. It helps his immune system function until it can produce enough on his own (certain limfocytes turn into plasma cells that produce immunoglobulin so if wbc is low there is a chance that IgG levels will be low as well). My son had these during ALL treatment as well.

My son is also on Immunoglobulin infusions monthly after bronchoscopy. It really takes about 2 hours. My son is now 4 years old. He started at 3 years old.

My kids absolutely hated having their fingernails cut too, so I would just do it while there were asleep! I would put on a head lamp and sneak in to their bedroom while there were fast asleep and cut their nails, and they would not even know it! Could be something to try, so little Teddy doesn't get upset.

My middle son did not have cancer, but he did have a lot of health problems. When he was young like Teddy, no one could stamp his hand at the zoo. No one could measure his foot for new shoes. He was constantly stuck with needles, just don't be surprised if other quirks should pop up now and again.
