The milky water is definitely an issue that I also noticed and hope they address in a future patch. I still extremely appreciate the fact that they keep patching the game and adding new features though. It's unfortunate that the latest patch introduced issues that weren't there before, but I mean, these things happen, and I'm sure they gonna fix it. Compared to the "remastered" versions of the PS1 Final Fantasy games or Metal Gear Solid, it's a night-and-day difference in terms of quality. So much love and care was put into the TR1-3 collection, that it has become the definitive version of these games.

IMO its definitely a good remaster which is music to my ears! Its just a shame the remastered material (models, textures & lighting) is sometimes (sometimes!) actually worse than the 96-98 material, even though its 2024. And whats crazy is atleast 2 game breaking bugs from TR3 still haven't been fixed even now. Still I don't want to sound too negative; this IS a good remaster, and I've been mostly loving it from start to finish. It DESERVES a proper (disc) release and some major updates so it can be the treasure its meant to be.

I hope they give The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and Angel of Darkness next (4,5,6). Fix all the bugs and the controls and it’ll be absolutely perfect. It’s my favourite Tomb Raider game
They'll hopefully atleast do the remaining 2 PS1 era TR's if not the PS2 sequel too. Not sure how successful this remaster has been so far but I'm sure it'll all rest on that. They need to fix up this remaster before dusting off & moving on though IMO. I mean theres still some major bugs from 1998 in the remaster lol.
Also, to note that when completing the original game, *New Game +* originally gave the player access to all weapons and infinite ammo... I'd like to see a *New Game ++* where this is added.

@@TheTombRaider I agree. The first Tomb Raider especially wasn't really a combat-orientated game. Sure you shot some stuff every so often but it's not a combat-based game and so making it harder when you have enemies like the Atlantean mutants (which as you know can be hard to hit due to their constant running and jumping around as well as the fact that they can shoot at you and this can be hard to dodge in narrow rooms or if you are on a narrow platform) from the Egyptian Levels onwards means that it becomes an absolute nightmare since you can no longer save anywhere and you have no medipacks to heal you during fights. The amount of times I died and was forced to either persevere with what I was doing already or else find a way to cheese a fight (such as shooting at skater kid from the secret's exit which, by the way, took me ages to do since the AI would have him skate to the left of me for a while where Lara couldn't shoot him and when I did get the opportunity to shoot as he was coming down from straight ahead I had to take a few shots and then quickly back down a bit so I didn't get hit). This wasn't a fun challenge but utter frustration and sure it wasn't too bad on the earlier levels but from the last level of Egypt onwards...man it was rough going.

I miss the “Story So Far” option from the classic games. As a kid, my brother and I would watch the cinematic clips over and over again. Would be cool to have that back.

There's clear bugs with glitching water that's very noticeable in Antarctica, also backgrounds glitching through ice walls aswell as the through the waterfall in river ganges. Also they need to add some of the skyboxes & mountainous backdrops to some levels. But i really hope golden mask gets an overhaul, the golden falls need to be smoothend out & sfx need to be fixed. Let's hope it's addressed in patch 4, aswell as getting rid of that milky water.
Liked the video and take on it. Sounds like complaining for complaining's sake. Fully completed TR1 & TR2 on the remaster with no drama at all. Problem is the veterans will want it their way - and so continues the player / developer horn locking.
Pre ordered my ps5 copy off gamestop. The copy i got is the deluxe edition with the soundtrack, map book and golden steelbook case. The map book will come in handy too given how easy it is to get lost in these games. One more week till October 18th!🤩🤩 The delay could be so they can have extra time for a patch 4. Though thats just a guess.🤷♂️

I'm playing on Switch and noticed something really annoying. After climbing on a platform and doing a 180 roll, there isn't enough space for a forward running jump. You will fall off the edge if you try. It's like the move distance for the 180 roll is a few pixels shorter than it used to be.
I tested it on different spots (TR3) after I posted this comment and it's not as bad as I thought. Most of the time everything works fine. I think it's a glitch with some weird conditions but I haven't figured anything out.
I think they just want some grapical options for the original sense you can't see the outfits when using the original. The options you access through the sunglasses for outfits could be used for some filters like mipmapping or a crt filter
Just downloaded the patch. Top of the water is a disaster, but viewing from underneath works. They definitely need to do something to the top. It works from a distance to an effect but being closer to the water is a f##k up. It looks like there's a bug in the game. Mate if u have any contact with aspyr please tell them to look at the top of the water again. I played great wall and Venice. It kinda works in great wall but Venice is a disaster and that was one of the best levels of the game
I haven’t really had many complaints of it so far and lord knows I’ve put enough hours into it. Currently playing through the third game for the first time. Had only played 1 and 2 before
I think fans have been extremely nitpicky about the water, I personally don't mind it, i think it's more "white" now cuz the surface was barely visible in places, like sometimes i couldn't tell where the surface was specially from bellow, surely it could use some polish and be adjusted accordingly to the location but it's not too bad. Things like the fire effects over the skybox i hope they get adjusted. I personally have noticed that sometimes light effects disappear when viewed through the water surface, i'm not sure if this is from the last update but i noticed while taking photos in the underwater area of TR1's Sanctuary of the Scion, the sun light rays "break" when the water surface texture is over them. As a big photo mode enjoyer I just want them to add the rest of the poses 😆 seems like a waste not to when they're already in the game.

And yes things disappearing when viewed through water is from this update - transparency layering seems to be broken, so other transparency effects won't appear if they're being viewed behind another transparent surface. The skybox now interferes with this too.
@dml09 exactly, fans wanted it to be more visible and now ain't happy about it either, somehow they're expecting ultra realistic water that doesn't go with these visuals. 🤔 The only complaints i had regarding the water was the lack of visible current on release (ex. Lost Valley) and proper lighting underwater, which were both added on patch 1. Since then, I thought it was fine tbh.

Yeah thats my take on this remaster. It does have its flaws, but at the same time I've been having a blast with it. This is TR as it should be, and I've wanted that for years. Theres even a cute hidden nod to the fans in TR2's oil rig level if you look at the scrolling text on some security monitors.
The day the game dropped, everything was fine. Stopp fucking with shit. All we wanted was to play the games without pulling out the PS2 and playing the expansion packs.
Respectfully i dont think you know what you're talking about. These are PS1 games. It was not "fine" on day one. Patches added features and polished the levels. Its only Patch 3 that came with accidental bugs. They will be fixed with the final patch.
@@cristianoliver4447 I've been playing the games since they came out, probably before you were born. The graphics are one thing, but for purists' sake gameplay should remain the same, or you aren't playing the original game.
I think their should be a compete remake of demake where it looks polygons are just like big blocky blocks that are suppose to resemble item and avatars. Also there should be zero texture. The same with the skybox. This way patches can just concentrate on putting light across surfaces. Light shed effect. And the graphics should be allowed to fail and go transparent of completely disappear even the skybock developer should not try and fight it. Cyluits is part of the magic of the 64bit era.
Another glitch I've found in the ps4 version of laras home in Tomb Raider 1, when doing the exercises, she doesn't give the right commands and you cant get the trophy 😢, I got the trophy on ps5 but I cant get it on ps4
No, it isn't. But a lot of players are saying it's "broken" their experience playing the game. It's not a broken, unplayable mess. As I said in the video, the game is absolutely playable, it’s just some little things, really.
But what IS game breaking is the TR3 Aldwych Drill bug... Apparently this bug is from 1998, but will screw you sideways if you trigger it so its a big'un. To me its weird they've still yet to address this.
Im trying to figure out what bugs you people are talking about i haven't found a single one and i got the game on release and have updated every patch and im not having any issues at all. Its almost like everyone just needs there to be problems just so they can complain.
I agree. This project is a labour of love made by and for fans. But somehow, a subsection of those fans is determined to find fault. Like a new shade of water surface is in fact an assault on their basic human right that needs to be fixed NOW or else... Get a life people and enjoy the game in all of its remastered glory!

Like people who constantly complain have no idea the amount of work and programming and algorithms it takes to get even the most basic functions in a game to even move a finger it takes so much to get it to move just the right way. But when people act like it's nothing and should be simple it's like a smack in the face of the hard working programmers. And channels like this don't seem to find any appreciation for what developers do. They just trash talk like they could do it any better.
@codybooth520 I have trash talked the developers. I have shown what some of the Tomb Raider community is talking about and given my own opinions about it. I know how much time it takes to develop a game. I have made videos on the remaster since it was released, and I have full appreciation of those original titles. I never played the expansions for one and enjoyed playing through those.
This is a vile lie, if you actually played extensively since day 1 you will notice glaring issues that have been either fixed or newer ones that have been introduced. Patch 3 completely destroyed transparency effects so everytime you see something through a waterfall for example it will break the background and the skybox. Things like these are stuff you will quickly catch up if you have actually played a lot specially if you played the original releases as well in which most of this issues were never present and instead introduced in the remasters. Your fixation in blaming the community and calling them complainers is simply rubbish and reductive, not everybody is a lame boot licker like you are, some of us know the value of our money and will push so ALL of us get a better game without necessarily nitpicking and rather, highlighting very real issues and glitches.
Yeah especially in unfinished business, the sand in Egypt levels look super orange ,dull and dark , when you switch it back and forth with the og graphics it’s very noticeable.
Combat in modern controls don’t feel the same as they did last patch, it’s not as easy to kill enemies, I can’t outrun them when running circles around them anymore in TR1 at least not sure about the rest tho
What I hate about Patch 3 it's the new and """improved""" combat system of Modern Controls. Lara feels slow, clunky, and worse to control during combats. She turns left and right while running during combats sooo slow, dude... I hope Patch 4 let us chose which combat style we want... Also, the water problem it's bad. But I don't mind it that much, but yeah, I'd rather want them to fix it. There's also a weird glitch on TR3 where you can't see some elements behind windows and glass. Also, the Save and Load shortcut doesn't work on Modern Controls. And also, if you make the Flare Shortcut while Lara's running, there's a chance that Lara will change her direction to the right. It's very random, and this didn't happened before Patch 3, so...

Once you press the button, swim under the door and doing get back in the boat. That way, the timer never starts, and you can swim through the mines at the exit without them going off.

I wish they'd release a patch that corrects some areas being made darker than in the original version, and remove that annoying hand icon that assumes we're too stupid to know we can pick up an item or interact with a control panel (didn't need that for 25 years, so why now?)
They don't in patch 3 if you're also looking at the sky box as shown in the video If you are just selecting flare as a weapon in photo mode the please look at my "active flares in photo mode" video to find out how to get them to work
@@Pyke_ I have just test on my version of the game and it's still working correctly Few things to note - check the flare doesn't have the skybox behind it and also let it burn for a few seconds before going into photo mode.

El asunto de sacar las armas cuando Lara esta quieta en el lugar me pasaba desde un principio con las bengalas jugando con los controles originales tipo tanque, pero era con lo único que pasaba. Ahora resulta que lo hace con todo el inventario y eso esta muy malo porque cambia la forma dejugar y no se si hasta lo hace también en el juego con gráficos originales ya que lo de las bengalas que comentaba también lo hacia con los gráficos originales jugando con el tipo de control original tipo tanque. Yeah thats my take on this remaster. It does have its flaws, but at the same time I've been having a blast with it. This is TR as it should be, and I've wanted that for years.
Theres even a cute hidden nod to the fans in TR2's oil rig level if you look at the scrolling text on some security monitors.
The day the game dropped, everything was fine. Stopp fucking with shit. All we wanted was to play the games without pulling out the PS2 and playing the expansion packs.

It was not "fine" on day one. Patches added features and polished the levels.
Its only Patch 3 that came with accidental bugs. They will be fixed with the final patch.
@@cristianoliver4447 I've been playing the games since they came out, probably before you were born. The graphics are one thing, but for purists' sake gameplay should remain the same, or you aren't playing the original game.
I think their should be a compete remake of demake where it looks polygons are just like big blocky blocks that are suppose to resemble item and avatars. Also there should be zero texture. The same with the skybox. This way patches can just concentrate on putting light across surfaces. Light shed effect. And the graphics should be allowed to fail and go transparent of completely disappear even the skybock developer should not try and fight it. Cyluits is part of the magic of the 64bit era.

Another glitch I've found in the ps4 version of laras home in Tomb Raider 1, when doing the exercises, she doesn't give the right commands and you cant get the trophy 😢, I got the trophy on ps5 but I cant get it on ps4

No, it isn't. But a lot of players are saying it's "broken" their experience playing the game.
It's not a broken, unplayable mess. As I said in the video, the game is absolutely playable, it’s just some little things, really.
But what IS game breaking is the TR3 Aldwych Drill bug... Apparently this bug is from 1998, but will screw you sideways if you trigger it so its a big'un. To me its weird they've still yet to address this.
Im trying to figure out what bugs you people are talking about i haven't found a single one and i got the game on release and have updated every patch and im not having any issues at all. Its almost like everyone just needs there to be problems just so they can complain.
I agree. This project is a labour of love made by and for fans. But somehow, a subsection of those fans is determined to find fault. Like a new shade of water surface is in fact an assault on their basic human right that needs to be fixed NOW or else... Get a life people and enjoy the game in all of its remastered glory!
@@ajsikkepit it doesn't matter the patch note there is always something wrong with it when it comes to those people. Like people who constantly complain have no idea the amount of work and programming and algorithms it takes to get even the most basic functions in a game to even move a finger it takes so much to get it to move just the right way. But when people act like it's nothing and should be simple it's like a smack in the face of the hard working programmers. And channels like this don't seem to find any appreciation for what developers do. They just trash talk like they could do it any better.
@codybooth520 I have trash talked the developers. I have shown what some of the Tomb Raider community is talking about and given my own opinions about it.
I know how much time it takes to develop a game.
I have made videos on the remaster since it was released, and I have full appreciation of those original titles. I never played the expansions for one and enjoyed playing through those.
This is a vile lie, if you actually played extensively since day 1 you will notice glaring issues that have been either fixed or newer ones that have been introduced.
Patch 3 completely destroyed transparency effects so everytime you see something through a waterfall for example it will break the background and the skybox.
Things like these are stuff you will quickly catch up if you have actually played a lot specially if you played the original releases as well in which most of this issues were never present and instead introduced in the remasters.
Your fixation in blaming the community and calling them complainers is simply rubbish and reductive, not everybody is a lame boot licker like you are, some of us know the value of our money and will push so ALL of us get a better game without necessarily nitpicking and rather, highlighting very real issues and glitches.

Yeah especially in unfinished business, the sand in Egypt levels look super orange ,dull and dark , when you switch it back and forth with the og graphics it’s very noticeable.
Combat in modern controls don’t feel the same as they did last patch, it’s not as easy to kill enemies, I can’t outrun them when running circles around them anymore in TR1 at least not sure about the rest tho
I still playing with patch one and I'm happy with it. ^^'
What I hate about Patch 3 it's the new and """improved""" combat system of Modern Controls. Lara feels slow, clunky, and worse to control during combats. She turns left and right while running during combats sooo slow, dude... I hope Patch 4 let us chose which combat style we want... Also, the water problem it's bad. But I don't mind it that much, but yeah, I'd rather want them to fix it. There's also a weird glitch on TR3 where you can't see some elements behind windows and glass. Also, the Save and Load shortcut doesn't work on Modern Controls. And also, if you make the Flare Shortcut while Lara's running, there's a chance that Lara will change her direction to the right. It's very random, and this didn't happened before Patch 3, so...

I'm currently stuck on the boat section Venice. Specifically getting the boat fast enough to the exit. Do u have a video that would help me?
Once you press the button, swim under the door and doing get back in the boat. That way, the timer never starts, and you can swim through the mines at the exit without them going off.
@@TheGameBreakersUK you mean the button that starts the timer or the button that opens the boathouse? I'm sorry I'm a little confused.
@@1980latinlover the button that starts that arms the mines at the end of the level. The timer starts once you leave that building unless you swim under the door

I wish they'd release a patch that corrects some areas being made darker than in the original version, and remove that annoying hand icon that assumes we're too stupid to know we can pick up an item or interact with a control panel (didn't need that for 25 years, so why now?)
You can turn the hand icon off its in the menu under action indicators
Hi I hope you can help when I use the analogue stick it's pauses the inventory screen but when I use the de pad it works perfect is it a bug
What do you mean by pauses the Inventory screen?
If you mean it goes into save/load screen then this is not a bug and was added in patch 3.
It's when I walk around mainly when I jump it goes in to the load save screen

I prefered the modern control in patch 2.
Now they feel more tanky in combat.
Flares light don't show up in photo mode
They don't in patch 3 if you're also looking at the sky box as shown in the video
If you are just selecting flare as a weapon in photo mode the please look at my "active flares in photo mode" video to find out how to get them to work
@@TheGameBreakersUK I saw your video and that don't work on Xbox. You select a flare as a weapon, start photo mode and the light is gone
@@Pyke_ I have just test on my version of the game and it's still working correctly
Few things to note - check the flare doesn't have the skybox behind it and also let it burn for a few seconds before going into photo mode.

If you're looking for skips and shortcuts there is a playlist on the channel that will be updated with new shorts every so often
